Contest Arena
"Hello everyone and welcome to the next match of the second round! To my left is Pewter City's Solidad!"
As the audience roared with applause, Solidad had a confident look in her eyes. "Let's get this show on the road."
"To my right is Blackthorn City's Suzy!"
Suzy proceeded to pull out her rifle and ready it for battle. "I agree Solidad."
Marian proceeded to spin the wheel in a counter-clockwise motion. "This match will be a Single Battle. Let the match begin!"
Solidad reached into her jacket and pulled out a Pokeball. "Slowbro, let's go." She then threw her Pokeball in the air and released her Pokémon onto the field.
Suzy smirked as she released her Pokémon. "In the desert sands I call upon the strength of Krookodile!"
After Krookodile was released onto the field, the wheel was replaced with a 5 minute timer and the match begun. But after a few moments of silence, Solidad didn't issue a command to her Slowbro and that was making Suzy curious. So her plan is for me to attack eh? Very well… "Krookodile, charge at Slowbro!" Krookodile complied with her trainer's command and ran at the Slowbro.
But Solidad had a counter ready. Silly girl. "Slowbro, use Protect!" Slowbro then put his hands together and created a barrier around itself, preventing Krookodile from landing a hit.
As Suzy's point total decreased, she smirked. "I don't understand why you're so happy all of a sudden, but it won't last long."
Suzy then responded. "Oh Solidad, you'll see." As Slowbro's Protect dissipated, Suzy gave her next command. "Krookodile, use Taunt!" Krookodile nodded its head and taunted Slowbro.
Solidad was left surprised by this attack. "Not bad. You made me waste my attack just so you can setup Taunt? Well, it's not going to work next time. Slowbro, use Surf!"
Slowbro raised its hands to the air and created a huge tidal wave aimed at Krookodile. But Suzy wasn't worried about this attack as she issued her counter. "Krookodile, use Earthquake!" Krookodile slammed its fists to the ground and created enormous shockwaves in the ground, stopping Slowbro's Surf and landing hard on the ground.
As Solidad's point total decreased, she began to think of her next plan of attack. So it seems that her Krookodile is designed to counter someone like my Slowbro. But no matter, the strategy she chooses is irrelevant. But I only have 3 minutes left on the clock, so it's time to make it count. "Slowbro, use Earthquake on Krookodile!" Slowbro then used its tail and managed to throw Krookodile into the ceiling.
As Suzy's point total decreased, her Krookodile hit the ground hard, creating shockwaves in the arena. "So your Krookodile prepared for that attack as well?" Solidad asked her opponent.
Suzy nodded her head. "Correct. Now let's continue. Krookodile, use Earthquake!" "Slowbro, use Hyper Beam!"
As both of their attacks were launched, it created an enormous shockwave in the arena as both Pokémon were hit hard by the attack and thrown into the walls, creating a dent and causing both Coordinators to lose points.
After a few seconds of silence, both Pokémon managed to get out of the walls but they were panting as a result. As Suzy thought of her next plan of action, Solidad did the same. I thought that Earthquake and Hyper Beam combination would have finished off that Krookodile, but it didn't work and now I have to wait for Slowbro to attack again. Solidad then looked up to view the screen and noticed that Suzy was losing the match by a few points. I can't believe this girl is driving me this far, but if I can hold out these next few moments then I win.
"Krookodile, use Bulk Up!" Krookodile complied with its trainer's command and increased its attack stat and defense stat by one stage. "Now use Taunt!"
Solidad had a worried look on her face. If that attack goes through! "Slowbro, use Protect!"
For the next few seconds, the arena was silent. That is until the sound of a sigh could be heard. "Good job Slowbro." Slowbro was able to put up its Protect attack, shielding it from Krookodile's Taunt and causing Suzy to lose points.
But as Solidad looked around the arena, she noticed something was wrong. "Where is Krookodile?" She then shook her head as she issued her next command to the now defenseless Slowbro. "Slowbro, flush it out with Surf!" Slowbro then raised its hands to the air and created another tidal wave in the arena. "In just a few short moments, Krookodile will be hit by the tidal wave and there's nothing you can do!"
But as the tidal wave got closer, there was a faint cry that could be heard in the arena, as the two Coordinators tried to figure out where the sound came from it appeared from underneath the tidal wave and launched its attack. "Thunder Fang!"
Within the blink of an eye, the tidal wave Slowbro used to defeat Krookodile, became coated with electricity and Slowbro was taking the brunt of the attack, crying out in pain as the attack continued.
Solidad's look of worry returned as she tried to think of a way to save her Pokémon. "Slowbro, use Protect!" But it was no use since Slowbro used it a few seconds before and it wasn't fully charged. As Solidad's point total took a heavy drop, the attack finally stopped and Slowbro hit the ground hard.
"Darn you Suzy! You and your Krookodile!"
Suzy then smirked. "Of course since Krookodile was in the tidal wave, I do lose a lot of points. But it still has more strength than your Slowbro."
As Slowbro got up, Solidad noticed electric sparks coming from it. "No! My Slowking, its paralyzed!"
"With your Pokémon paralyzed my Krookodile is now free to attack, you're finished Solidad. Krookodile, use Earthquake!" Krookodile then slammed its fists into the ground one more time and hit Slowbro with enough force to send it into the air.
As it hit the ground, Marian stopped the match. "Time!"
As Marian walked onto the stage, she announced the winner of the match. "This match was very close. But one had 1 percent of their points left, and the other had lost all of their points. The winner of this match is Suzy!"
The audience roared with applause as the two Coordinators prepared to recall their Pokémonc. Suzy walked over to her Krookodile and gave her Pokémon a fist bump. "Great job Krookodile, you deserve a rest." She then returned her Pokémon to her pokeball.
Solidad then walked over to her Slowbro and let out a sigh. "Good job Slowbro." She then returned her Pokémon to her pokeball and walked over to her opponent.
"Congratulations Suzy. You managed to counter my strategies very well, and despite it being a close match I enjoyed fighting you." She then let out her hand for a handshake.
Suzy then smiled. "Thanks Solidad, you were a very tough opponent to face and it could have gone either way. But I am glad I got to face you." She then accepted Solidad's handshake.
"Your next opponent will be The Black Greninja, so be on your toes." Solidad then walked out of the arena as Suzy returned to the waiting room.
Waiting Room
May and Drew had surprised looks on their faces after viewing the match. "I can't believe Suzy beat Solidad." Drew said to May.
"I guess there's a first time for everything." May responded.
When Suzy walked into the room, she was greeted by May and Drew. "Congratulations Suzy on winning your match." Drew said.
May then responded. "You did a good job."
Suzy smiled. "Thanks." She then walked over to Frank and sat down.
Trish then got up and sighed. My opponent is May. There's no way I will win this… She then reaches into her pocket and pulls out the ball containing her Espeon. But I know Dave's watching me from the stands… She then smiles. I may lose this match, but I am going to give May a run for her money. She then goes over to Frank and Suzy. "Good luck in the third round you guys." Frank and Suzy nod their heads as Trish walks towards the Contest Arena.
May then proceeds to leave for the Contest Arena before Drew stops her. "Good luck May."
May smiled. "Thanks Drew."
She then walked out of the waiting room and walked down the hallway to the Contest Arena.
