Contest Arena

"Hello everyone and welcome to the last match of the second round. To my left is Nando from the Sinnoh region and to my right is Snowpoint City's Zoey!"

Marian proceeded to spin the wheel in a clockwise motion. "This match will be a Double Battle. So let's begin!"

"Kricketune and Lopunny, let's go." Nando then threw his pokeballs into the air and released his Pokémon.

"Leafeon and Mismagius, I choose you." Zoey then proceeded to do the same.

When both Coordinators' Pokémon appeared in the arena the wheel was replaced with a 5 minute timer and the match began.

"Leafeon, use Energy Ball. Mismagius, use Shock Wave." Leafeon opened its mouth and fired its Energy Ball attack at Nando's Pokemon while Mismagius combined its Shock Wave attack with the Energy Ball, creating an Energy Ball with electricity running through it.

But Nando didn't appear to be worried. "Lopunny, use Blizzard. Kricketune, use Silver Wind." Lopunny launched its Blizzard at the combined Energy Ball attack and managed to encase it in ice while Kricketune jumped into the air and launched its Silver Wind attack, destroying the Energy Ball and creating a beautiful array of fireworks composed of electricity, and ice.

As the fireworks died down, Zoey's point total decreased. "Mismagius, use Psywave. Leafeon, use Leaf Blade." Leafeon nodded its head and put energy into the leaf on its forehead. Once it was fully charged, Mismagius combined its Psywave attack with Leafeon's Leaf Blade, creating a Leaf Blade attack with Psychic mixed into an attack aimed at Nando's Lopunny.

"Kricketune, use Sing. Lopunny, use Blizzard." Kricketune proceeded to put its two claws together and use them like a violin, creating musical notes in the arena while Lopunny used Blizzard on the musical notes, creating a high frequency distortion noise in the arena. But despite the noise, Leafeon was still charging at Nando's Lopunny and managed to hit the rabbit like Pokemon before being blown back due to how powerful the frequency was.

When the two Pokemon got back up, Nando and Zoey's point total decreased though it appeared that Nando lost more points because of Leafeon landing a hit on Lopunny. "Leafeon and Mismagius, use Double Team." Both Pokemon then proceeded to create enough clones to surround Kricketune and Lopunny. But Nando seemed to have a counter for this strategy. "Lopunny, use Blizzard. Kricketune, use Silver Wind."

Both Pokemon proceeded to jump high into the air as Lopunny launched its Blizzard attack. Kricketune then used its two claws to launch its Silver Wind attack, which combined with the Blizzard attack and was heading towards the Leafeon Mismagius army.

"Leafeon, use Energy Ball. Mismagius, use Shock Wave." Leafeon and Mismagius complied with their trainer's request and launched their counter attack. The combined Energy Ball attacks that came from both the original and the clone Pokémon were mixing in with the Silver Wind/Blizzard combination and created an array of lights in the arena amazing the audience. This proceeded for a minute with no sign of stopping from either side until two of the Silver Winds hit the real Leafeon and Mismagius and two of the Energy Shock Wave Ball attacks hit Lopunny and Kricketune.

As both Coordinators took a heavy decrease in their point totals, their Pokémon got back up after the previous attack.

"Kricketune, use X-Scissor. Lopunny, use Shadow Ball."

"Leafeon, use Aerial Ace. Mismagius, use Power Gem."

Kricketune charged at Leafeon with its X-Scizzor attack while Lopunny was charging towards Mismagius with two Shadow Balls in hand. Leafeon charged at Kricketune with its Aerial Ace attack and Mismagius prepared its Power Gem attack. When Leafeon and Kricketune collided, Kricketune put its two claws together and shielded itself from Leafeon's Aerial Ace for a brief moment before slashing the Leafy fox in the chest with X-Scissor. Despite the pain it was feeling from the super-effective attack, Leafeon continued attacking Kricketune with Aerial Ace and managed to land a couple of hits on Kricketune before getting hit a couple more times by X-Scissor.

Meanwhile, Mismagius launched its Power Gem attack at Lopunny, who used its first Shadow Ball to deflect the rocks and aimed the second Shadow Ball at Mismagius' pendant. But Mismagius was able to dodge the second Shadow Ball and continue using Power Gem. Lopunny was able to utilize the first Shadow Ball for a little longer as a shield before Mismagius' Power Gem attacks eventually shattered it causing Lopunny to take damage. As Lopunny tried to make two more Shadow Balls, Mismagius kept firing Power Gems at Lopunny, forcing her to quickly evade the rocks.

As Kricketune put its claws together once again, Leafeon's Aerial Ace broke through the attack and Kricketune took damage from the Super-Effective attack. But before Kricketune hit the ground, Kricketune managed to land X-Scissor on Leafeon's hind legs, which caused Leafeon to lose her balance and hit the ground hard.

As both Coordinators lost points, Leafeon and Kricketune were able to get up but they were showing signs of exhaustion after taking multiple super-effective attacks. Despite Leafeon's damage to its hind legs, Leafeon was still able to launch one more Aerial Ace attack and charge towards Kricketune. Kricketune put its claws together one more time for an X-Scissor attack and charged at Leafeon. After the two collided, they were breathing very slowly for a few seconds before Leafeon fainted. Kricketune weakly smiled for a few milliseconds before hitting the ground and fainting.

Back with Lopunny and Mismagius, neither Pokemon were showing signs of exhaustion as Lopunny charged at the ghost once again with two Shadow Balls in hand. As Mismagius launched another Power Gem attack, Lopunny managed to avoid all the rocks which surprised Mismagius and landed a direct hit on Mismagius' jewel, sending the ghost back a few feet with Lopunny in pursuit.

"Mismagius, use Psywave!" Mismagius complied with its trainer's request and launched Psywave at Lopunny, sending her into the ground as a result. When Lopunny got back up, Lopunny prepared one final Shadow Ball and charged at Mismagius as the ghost Pokemon launched a Psywave attack.

When the two attacks collided, Lopunny was blown back a bit by the force of the attack. But Lopunny pushed through the pain and began to overpower the Psywave attack which surprised both Coordinators. However the result of the two attacks created enough pressure to create an explosion which sent both Pokémon into a wall.

"Time!" Marian shouted.

As both Lopunny and Mismagius hit the ground the two Coordinators looked at the TV screen and saw who won. "This was another close match but the winner is Zoey."

As the audience roared with applause the two Coordinators returned their Pokemon to their pokeballs and walked to the centre of the stage. Zoey let out her right hand for a handshake. "That was a great match Nando."

Nando smiled and accepted the handshake. "Thank you Zoey, you were a very good opponent to face and good luck in the third round."

As Nando walked away from the arena, Zoey returned to the waiting room.

Waiting Room

As Zoey returned to the waiting room she took a seat as the TV turned on. "Congratulations Coordinators on making it to the third round. Now it's time to display the matches." After Marian finished talking, 8 cards appeared on screen and displayed the next matches.
