Contest Arena

"Hello everyone , and welcome to the first match of the semi-final round. To my left is Zoey from Snowpoint City and to my right is Dawn!"

"Good luck, Dawn!" Zoey said with a smile on her face.

Dawn then smirked in response. "Thank you Zoey. But this time, I'm going to win."

Marian proceeded to spin the wheel in a counter-clockwise motion. "This match will be a Double Battle. So let's begin!"

Zoey reached into her pockets and pulled out two Pokeballs with stickers all over them. "Gallade,Glameow, let's go." She then threw her Pokeballs into the air as her Pokémon appeared in the arena.

Dawn then reached into her pockets and pulled out two Pokeballs. "Just like old times. Piplup, Togekiss, let's go!" She then threw her Pokeballs into the air as her Piplup and Togekiss appeared in the arena.

Once the four Pokemon appeared in the arena, the match began.

Dawn started off the match by issuing commands to her two Pokémon. "Piplup, use Hydro Pump. Togekiss, fly in front of the Hydro Pump and use Safeguard!"

Zoey then responded. "Glameow, use Shock Wave. Gallade, use Swords Dance!"

Gallade started the match by summoning three swords around him, increasing his attack stat. Glameow then aimed her Shock Wave attack at the three swords, electrifying them and turning them into Electric Swords. Gallade then aimed his now electrified swords at Togekiss and fired them. Togekiss jumped in front of Piplup and flew at top speed with Gallade as her target while Piplup fired his Hydro Pump attack in Togekiss' direction, combining with Togekiss' Safeguard and creating a giant stream of water as a result. After the swords collided with the Safeguard Pump attack, both Gallade and Togekiss took damage from their attacks and the stream of water ended.

As their point totals decreased, the two Coordinators issued their next command.

"Gallade, use Vacuum Wave. Glameow, use Shock Wave!"

"Piplup, get on Togekiss and use Bide. Togekiss, use Sky Attack."

Zoey was left confused by her opponent's moves. Bide can't do any damage unless a Pokemon hits it. Oh... I get it; she wants me to target Piplup. Not going to happen DeDe.

"Gallade, Glameow, target Togekiss!"

Both Pokemon complied with their trainer's request and began their attacks. Gallade launched his Vacuum Wave at Togekiss and Glameow combined her Shock Wave attack with the Vacuum Wave to create an electrical current of wind.

Piplup jumped onto Togekiss and prepared his Bide attack while Togekiss started her Sky Attack and flew towards both of Zoey's Pokémon while also adding damage to Piplup's Bide attack.

When Dawn's Pokémon collided with the Electrical Wave, Togekiss was initially blown back by the currents but it began to push against the current, adding electricity to the Sky Attack while also adding more damage to Piplup's Bide attack.

Gallade and Glameow continued their attacks but Togekiss eventually flew through the attack and Togekiss threw Piplup towards Glameow just as Piplup's Bide attack was about to go off.

There was nothing Zoey could do, her Pokemon couldn't get out of the way in time and even if it could dodge, she had no idea how far the attack would go. She was trapped. This isn't good. I have to do something. If that hits Glameow, she'll be KO'ed for sure.

Zoey then looked at her wrist and thought to herself. I never wanted to use this. But I have no choice.

Glameow tried to dodge Piplup, but Piplup was less than 10 centimeters away before his Bide attack went off, engulfing the area in white light.

The white light lasted for a few seconds with both Coordinators' shielding their eyes but when the light dissipated, Zoey and Dawn saw the results of the attack.

Glameow was still standing, Togekiss was thrown into a wall, Piplup was barely standing and Gallade was in front of Glameow with his arms covering his chest, but Dawn noticed that Gallade looked different.

"What on earth?"

Zoey then smirked in response to Dawn's question. "That's right Dawn; Gallade has a Mega Evolution as well. With boosted physical defense and Bide doing neutral damage, your kamikaze attack failed to KO Glameow."

"But that's not to say it wasn't effective." Zoey then pointed to the TV screen.

When Dawn looked at the TV screen, she understood what Zoey meant.

Dawn had lost 25%, while Zoey lost 50%.

"Listen Dawn, there's about 2 minutes left. Let's end this with a bang. Either I will win again, or you will win. So show me what you got."

Dawn nodded her head and the match continued.

"Mega Gallade, use Psycho Cut. Glameow, use Shock Wave."

"Piplup, use Ice Beam, Togekiss use Aura Sphere."

Mega Gallade went first and launched a large Psycho Cut at Piplup while Glameow combined her Shock Wave attack with the Psycho Cut, creating an Electric Psycho Cut. Togekiss then launched her Aura Sphere attack at Glameow and then Piplup launched his Ice Beam attack at the Aura Sphere, freezing the attack and also adding iced spikes to the attack.

When the two attacks collided, it created a huge explosion while also covering the arena in ice, and electricity.

When the dust begins to settle, both Coordinators were waiting to see which Pokémon survived the attack and which one of them won.

Zoey looked on with worry. Come on Gallade and Glameow, you can do this.

Dawn also looked on with worry in her eyes. Come on guys, you got this.

As the dust finally settled, the Coordinators finally got to see their Pokémon.

Glameow was knocked out, Gallade was barely standing, Togekiss was knocked out, and Piplup was near fainting.

But before any words could be said to either Coordinator, Marian turned on her microphone.

"TIME!"

"This was a very close match, but by a 1 percent difference, the winner is….."

"DAWN!"

The audience cheered with applause as both Coordinators were shocked at the result.

Dawn's eyes widened after hearing those words. "I.I won?"

Zoey was at first shocked by the result, but after letting out a sigh she smirked and returned her Pokémon to their Pokeballs. "Good job guys."

After Dawn returned her Pokémon to their Pokeballs, she walked over to the center of the arena and gave Zoey a handshake.

"Good job Zoey that was a great match."

Zoey then responded with a smile. "Thank you Dawn, you were great as well."

"Good luck in the finals, I'll be watching."

Zoey then broke off the handshake and walked out of the arena with a smile while Dawn returned to the Waiting Room.

However when she entered the room, no one was there.

As Dawn rubbed her head in confusion, she turned around to face the Television and saw that May and David were about to begin their match.
