I find that when I do short chapters, I feel more inspired to write. Is that weird?

Yes, okay, you don't need to answer that. XD Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter! I loved writing it! CarLee moments make me so happy. AND CLEMENTINE! She's so innocent. It's adorable.

Oh, and Lee has a dirty mind. This is where we are alike, my friend. ;)

I don't own The Walking Dead. *sobs quietly in the corner then crawls out wiping my face* I wasn't crying! I swear...

Lee pushed open the train car door, and before he could stop it, he smiled.

Clementine's eyes were sparkling happily, "I love animal crackers!" she chirped, in awe of the small brightly colored box of them that was in her lap. She used her small fingers to tear open the top of the packaging.

"Well, I'm glad. I did too when I was a kid," Carley responded from her spot next the the girl, their legs swinging outside of the train car almost in sync. She was also smiling, an expression that Lee would have loved to see more often.

Lee crossed the car to them, "Hey," he greeted as he sat down beside the two of them.

Carley turned her head so she was facing Lee directly, "Oh hi, Lee."

Lee's breath hitched when he realized how close he was to her, and if he leaned forward a few inches, their lips would brush together.

Realizing he'd been doing nothing but stare for just a little too long, he racked his mind for something to say, "Uh, where did you find the animal crackers?"

Carley grinned, and Lee was terrified that she knew what was going through his head.

She answered proudly, "In a car by the train. There was a walker in there, but the dumbass was-"

"Swear," Clementine interrupted, giving Carley wide, innocent eyes. She popped one of the animal crackers into her mouth.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry Clem," Carley apologized, smoothing her own brunette hair back behind her ears. A few rebellious strands stuck to her face, and Lee felt a strong urge to push them out of the way.

Holy shit, does she know what she's doing to me? Lee shoved his hands into his pockets so he wouldn't do something like that.

Self control, Lee. Self control. He reminded himself firmly.

"Good find, Car. I hope that walker didn't give you too much trouble," he praised, still a bit concerned at how hard it was for him not to just kiss her there and then.

Carley put a hand to her chest, doing her best to look hurt, "I can take care of myself, Everett."

I bet you can.

Realizing what he just though, Lee choked on his own tongue. Stop it Lee, just stop it.

Clementine broke the silence that followed, her crumb-covered smile faltering a bit, "Did you talk to Chuck?" she asked Lee, worry painted across her features.

"I did. He had some, uh," Lee blanked, thinking about the conversation he just had with Chuck. He couldn't say some of the things to Clem - it would only scare her, "He explained himself and made some good points," he settled, putting it into terms that wouldn't frighten Clem - let alone him.

He continued on, "Look, we're not going to let anything bad happen to you. But there are some precautions we have to take."

Clementine nodded, and Carley's eyes sparked with interest as she waited for what Lee would say next.

Clementine's worry eased, "Okay, yeah. That makes sense," she said, but still looked troubled.

"Don't worry, sweet heart," Lee comforted, touched by how concerned Clementine was for everybody's safety.

Clementine sighed quietly in relief, "Okay. What should we do?" she asked curiously.

Lee looked at her thoughtfully, "Well, we're going to figure out a plan for when we get to Savannah, teach you how to protect yourself and, uh, tidy up a little so you can't get grabbed so easily."

Clementine beamed, "I'd like that."

Alright, first things first. It was the most important thing and needed to get done right away.

"You need to know how to protect yourself," Lee insisted, standing up.

Clementine responded, "Like hiding or running away? Got it," she also stood, looking up at him simply.

Lee shook his head, "No. With a gun," he clarified, then looked at Carley, who had her head turned to look at him, "Can I borrow yours?"

Carley placed it in his hands as she walked up the him with a crooked grin, "Don't mess up. If you need help, I used to teach my nephew how to shoot. Well, until my sister found out..." she trailed of a little, her strong exterior flickering for the slightest moment to show pain, well hidden, and then the walls were up again. The smile on her face after that looked less genuine, and the sparkle in her eyes more dull.

Lee frowned, "Are you okay?" he asked, concerned, and placed his hand gently on her shoulder.

Carley looked indignant, "Yeah, I'm fine," her eyes traveled to his head, which had stopped bleeding a long time ago. It was still slightly warm, but it felt fine. Lee was immensely grateful that Carley had washed it out to prevent infection, "I should be asking you the same," she added after a prolonged glance.

Lee smiled at her concern for him, "I'm fine, I promise."

Crisp light brown eyes met Lee's dark ones, and the electricity was palpable.

Clementine cleared her throat, her eyebrows slanted. She was frowning innocently, "You guys look like my parents before they kiss," she said, then made a face, "Gross."

Ahahahaha! XD I love Clementine. She's just so...Clemmy. It's adorable. X'D
