Humming while she did chores the muggle way was always a good sign that Hermione was in a good mood. As she moved gracefully through the kitchen at 12 Grimmauld Place tidying about she heard the front door open. The sound of little feet came speeding towards where she was.
"My Mione!" shouted the little boy who came bursting through the door. He barreled towards her with excitement.
"My Teddy Bear!" Hermione replied. Swooping the boy up into a hug and squeezing him tightly. His hair smelled of the lavender baby shampoo he loved so much. Her heart warmed as she inhaled the comforting scent.
"I missed you so much My Mione" Teddy told her as he squeezed her back.
"I missed you too darling! Did you have fun with your grandmother this week?" She placed him back on his feet and smiled at the young boy.
"I did! A week is really long though! I missed you and wanted to come home but I didn't wanna hurt grandmother's feelings." Teddy explained. Hermione smiled at him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"That's very sweet of you Teddy Bear. I'm sure your grandmother was so glad to have you." The boy nodded quickly in agreement before turning to the kitchen door that had opened again.
"Teddy please come take your bag to your room and put your stuff away like we discussed" Remus said as he walked towards his son holding out the bag. The boy grabbed his things and ran off upstairs after telling Hermione he couldn't wait to tell her everything about his visit over dinner.
Hermione smiled as she watched the boy scurry away to do as he was asked.
"He asked about you as soon as I stepped into the house to pick him up." Remus chuckled. "It was like I was chopped liver! A week away from me and I was greeted with "hiya dad where's My Mione?" Honestly I don't think he even missed me." Hermione let out a chuckle before covering her mouth.
"Oh Moony, don't be daft. I'm sure he missed you too but it's hard to compete with his most favorite person in the whole world." She teased, causing Remus to laugh. He gave a shrug with a little grin on his face.
"I suppose you're right." He admitted with a dramatic playful sigh. Hermione laughed and then set out to prepare dinner. She made roasted chicken and mashed potatoes knowing it was Teddy's favorite. Remus insisted she was spoiling the young boy but Hermione just shrugged and continued about her ways. Over dinner she heard all about the zoo and the aquarium his grandmother had taken him to.
"We should all go there together so I can show you all my favorite things! My Mione would love how much they teached you there." Hermione smiled at him affectionately.
"That sounds lovely sweet boy I'm in. Now finish up your dinner and we can play a game before story time alright?" The boy's eyes went wind before his focus went back to his food.
After two games and three stories Teddy had finally succumbed to his exhaustion. Hermione gently tucked him in before kissing his forehead and tiptoeing back downstairs.
"He finally out?" Questioned Remus as she stepped into the kitchen. Hermione nodded with a gentle smile.
"He's out and tucked in with love." Remus smiled at that before nodding towards the stove.
"I made us some hot chocolate." He told her with a grin seeing her eyes light up at his words. She shuffled through the kitchen and got herself some before topping off the mug in front of him and sitting down. She gave a soft sigh as she sat and enjoyed the drink before her.
"Remus this is perfect. You always make it better than I do." Remus just smiled at her before taking another sip. "I feel foolish for being so relieved that Teddy is home. I didn't think I'd miss him so much this past week when he was gone." Hermione admitted. Remus chuckled.
"Yes I know what you mean, a weekend is one thing but an entire week seemed to drag by so slowly awaiting his return." Remus explained. Hermione nodded in agreement before getting up to clear away their mess.
"I can do that." Remus insisted as he shuffled to his feet and took the mug from her grasp. "Why don't you go up to the library and get a fire going. I'll be up to join you after I'm done." Hermione agreed with a grin and headed upstairs.
The library was her favorite place in the house which was no surprise to anyone. She could usually be found there most nights. Lately with Remus as well. The pair of them had grown close since the war and though he had been reluctant to accept help in the beginning Remus was so grateful to have her and Harry to help raise Teddy. Although Harry was often gone for quidditch matches he was very involved when he was home and owled often to check on the three of them while he was gone.
The fire crackled as Hermione sat in her oversized comfy chair Harry had got for her last Christmas. Her mind elsewhere as she stared at the flames. Remus had been constantly on her mind lately. At first she tried to reason with herself that it was simply them living together that made her consider the man often. That had to be the reason she picked up his favorite things when she was shopping, took care of him when he was ill, and always did whatever she could to make Remus smile. Until Harry pointed out that although she does care for him too while sick she didn't make his favorite dinner when he had a bad day or make sure to buy his favorite tea when she was out. Harry of course had been teasing but it had made her begin to think.
"Are you alright Mi?" Remus spoke softly as he settled across from her. She had been so focused on the fire while her mind raced that she didn't hear him coming. She turned her head and gave him a soft smile.
"Of course Remus, I'm fine." she insisted. Remus quirked his brow.
"You know I'm always here for you if you ever need to talk about anything right?" he reminded her. Hermione couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle at the irony of him being the only person she couldn't talk to about this particular issue.
"Yes of course I know that." she told him. Remus looked unconvinced but didn't press. He picked up his book from the table and began to read. Hermione followed his lead and did the same and the two of them sat in comfortable silence with only the crackle of the fire in the background. Hermione tried to keep focused on her book but it wasn't as easy as usual. After a while her eyes began to flutter closed and she fell asleep.
She began to wake slightly as she felt herself being carried but couldn't quite make her eyes open. As she was placed in her bed she felt a kiss being placed gently on her temple.
"Goodnight beautiful." Remus' soft voice barely registered in her mind as she drifted fully back to sleep.
Early the next morning Hermione was woken up by a little tap on her shoulder. She opened her eyes to be met with a cute little face not far from hers. A smile slowly appeared on her face.
"What is it My Teddy Bear?" Hermione whispered. Teddy smiled back at her,
"Can I come snuggle?" the boy asked in a hushed tone. Hermione's smile grew and she lifted her blanket for him to burrow in next to her. Teddy giggled softly as he scooted next to her and she wrapped her arms around him pulling him close. The two of them then fell back to sleep. A little while later Hermione woke up to the sound of her door being pushed open with haste. A sigh of relief met her ears and she turned to peek at who was there seeing Remus gazing at the two of them.
"Hi," She whispered softly. Remus smiled
"Hello there," He replied quietly.
"I'm guessing you were looking for this one?" Hermione asked, motioning towards the sleeping boy in her arms. Remus chuckled and nodded.
"Yes I was. I went to his room to wake him for breakfast and was met with an empty room. I don't know why I looked anywhere else before coming here. I should have known he'd be snuggled up with you." Hermione smiled and looked at Teddy.
"I smell bacon." a soft sleepy voice came from the boy as his eyes began to flutter open. Remus and Hermione laughed.
"Yes, breakfast is ready if you're willing to finally get up." Remus told him. Teddy sat up and stretched his arms out before rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He then turned to Hermione and smiled.
"Those were the best snuggles, My Mione." he told her. Hermione smiled and kissed the boy's cheek before they climbed out of bed and shuffled down to the kitchen for breakfast.
After breakfast Hermione got an owl from work. She had decided after the war to become a potioneer and be able to work from home alongside Remus. Him needing a job to work from home with Teddy being so young. Her wanting something that kept her mostly out of the limelight which was exactly what she needed. The owl had been from her boss asking if she wanted to be the next person to go on the three month voyage for their rare ingredients. The trip was set to take place in two and a half months. She felt conflicted and didn't know what to do. Part of her thought it would be a wonderful thing to experience but then she thought about being gone. She had just experienced a week away from Teddy and hated it. Three months was so much longer than that. She would miss out on everything. Luckily she had two weeks to decide before someone else would be asked.
"My Mione!" yelled Teddy from somewhere in the house breaking her train of thought.
"In here darling" she called from the library. The sound of thundering little stomps came to her ears before Teddy popped his head into the room. His hair brown and curly like hers as it had mostly been for over a year now. Remus blushed when anyone made comments about how Teddy really looked that he could be their son now.
"My Mione, can we pleaseee go have dinner at the fun place tonight?" the little boy asked pleadingly. Hermione smiled as she watched Teddy. She had taken him to a pizza place in muggle London that had an arcade inside. Ever since then he seemed to convince her to take him once a month.
"Hmmm…is your room clean?" she questioned. Teddy nodded quickly. "Have you asked your dad?" she continued receiving another round of nodding. "Hmm…well then it seems like we have no reason not to go!" she exclaimed.
"YAYYY!!!!" Teddy hollered before running out of the room. "She said yes dad she said yes!" He informed his father as he ran through the house. Hermione chuckled and put away the letter from work in a drawer. She would take her time making the decision.
After getting dressed to go out Hermione went to look for her two handsome dates finding them dressed and in the sitting room. She had purchased some muggle clothes for the two of them when it became obvious that they were going to be frequenting muggle London.
"My Mione, you look so pretty!" Teddy complimented her as he jumped up from the love seat and ran to grab her hand. Remus looked up watching his son bouncing towards the witch. His eyes remained still when he caught the full sight of her.'Thank Merlin for muggle jeans' he thought.
"You are too kind My Teddy Bear." Hermione told the boy. Flushing when he looked up to find Remus' eyes tracing over her. "Are we all ready then?" she questioned as she stuck out her free hand to Remus. He nodded as he stood and approached them.
Luckily the pizza place wasn't very busy due to it being the middle of the week. Hermione ordered for them and then gave Teddy a bunch of coins for all the games. Sitting where they could see the arcade Remus and Hermione watched as Teddy wandered around picking games.
"I don't know what we would have done without you these past 6 years Mi." Remus spoke suddenly. Hermione glanced at Remus and gave him a smile before looking back at Teddy.
"Honestly I don't know what I would have done without you two either." Hermione replied with a soft sigh as she watched Teddy jumping up and down in celebration of winning a game. The boy turned to see if she saw and his smile grew as he saw she was watching. Hermione huffed out a small chuckle and turned to Remus. "You two make me feel whole." Hermione spoke softly. "With Harry always traveling for quidditch it's nice that we still have each other as constants. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world." Remus smiled at her and took her hand atop the table, giving it a squeeze.
"Hermione I.." Teddy ran to the table interrupting Remus mid sentence.
"My Mione look! I won this for you!" Teddy exclaimed, sounding almost out of breath as he pushed a stuffed wolf towards her. Hermione beamed at him as she took the stuffed wolf and examined it.
"This is adorable My Teddy Bear. I love it so much!" Teddy beamed at her statement and ran back to the games. Hermione studied the wolf with a small smile.
"Were you going to say something?" Hermione asked Remus as she looked back up to see him studying her. She could see him hesitating before he spoke.
"You're just wonderful." He told her with a lopsided grin. Hermione smiled but felt like he was still holding back. Just before she was going to grill the answers out of him the server approached, placing their food on the table.
"Teddy son, come eat." Remus called out so the three of them could enjoy their meal together.
After packing up the leftovers and gathering all Teddy's prizes the three of them left to head home. It was a beautiful night so they shuffled along comfortably before making it to the Leaky. They always used to floo to get home from there. It was the easiest way.
"My Mione, do we have cookies?" Teddy said with a voice Hermione could tell it was losing its gusto. They had been home a whole 10 minutes before he asked this, She laughed before swooping the boy into her arms.
"We are fresh out my darling but I promise we will make more soon. How's that sound?" Hermione felt the boy snuggle into her as he hummed in agreement. She turned to find Remus watching them.
"Let me take him." Remus told her as he shifted the boy out of her arms. Hermione smiled and watched the two of them go. She then put away their food and headed to her room to change.
"Hermione?" came a voice on the other side of her door followed by a soft knock.
"Come in." she answered. Remus popped his head in the room and gave her a heart stopping smile.
"Hot chocolate?" Hermione smiled at him and nodded. Remus shuffled the rest of the way in, their floating mugs following him. He sat in the chair next to her bed grabbing the mugs from the air and placing them on her bedside table. Hermione crawled to the edge of the bed closest to him and crossed her legs to sit.
"You spoil me Remus." Hermione said with a grin as she reached for her mug. Remus chuckled and shook his head.
"Not at all. You deserve everything I do. Besides, it's just my way of thanking you for always being so good and helpful with Teddy." He insisted. Hermione smiled and looked at Remus as a serious look took over her face.
"I'm glad to do it. That's why I don't know how to turn down the gathering voyage they offered me today." Hermione stated kind of quietly. Remus' eyes went wide as he took in her words.
"They offered you the gathering voyage this time?" he questioned. "Why didn't you say anything Mi!? We could have celebrated!" The wolf growled playfully. Hermione just shook her head before she put her mug down and clasped her hands together nervously.
"I'm not going, I knew the moment I read the owl that I was going to decline. I tried to tell myself to just think about it longer before declining but my feelings haven't changed." she explained.
"What feelings?" Remus asked.
"Feelings that tell me I'd be miserable without you and Teddy if I was gone for three months." she told him quietly. As she avoided eye contact and looked down at her clasped hands. There was silence for a moment before he nudged her chin up making her look at him.
"I don't want us holding you back, making you unhappy." Remus told her in a serious tone. Hermione's eyes softened before she clasped the hand holding her chin.
"Don't you listen? The only thing that makes me unhappy is thinking of being without you both." Hermione insisted. Remus looked back into her eyes before he felt himself leaning forward. Hermione wasted no time pushing her lips against his. She sighed softly as he gently parted her lips with his tongue and their kiss grew heated. Pulling him close, she leaned back onto her bed taking him with her. Now pinned beneath him she began to wiggle, feeling their bodies mesh against each other. Remus let out a groan as she ran her hands under his shirt. Breaking their kiss Remus began to nibble down her neck.
"Remus" Hermione sighed as he began to pepper kisses all over her heaving chest. Remus just chuckled and continued his maneuvers listening to her whimpers and moans. His hands started to descend down towards her sleeping shorts touching her all over except where she most wanted. Hermione could feel her body growing hot under his touch and groaned while pushing up against him. "Remus, please." she breathed.
"What do you want, Mi?" Remus whispered against her skin. "Tell me."
"Touch me Remus" she whimpered. At her words Remus' last self-restraint dissolved immediately. He tugged her shorts down along with her knickers before sinking his fingers into her. Hermione gasped before letting out a moan as he continued. "Fuck" she cursed as she felt her body begin to shake.
"You're so wet for me Mi, so fucking wet." Remus growled into her ear. Hermione's body exploded at his words and she could feel herself falling over the top. "That's its Pet, let go for me." Hermione was completely gone once his words registered she shattered, her body clenching his fingers. Before she could even recover his head was between her thighs licking her clean.
"Remus fuck!" she gasped, digging her fingers into the sheets. Pulling away from her Remus looked up at her with a grin.
"You've got a filthy mouth Miss Granger." He chuckled as he kissed his way up her body. Hermione smirked at that before sitting up and flipping their positions catching him off guard. She then magiced their clothes away before kissing down his chest and body.
"It gets filthier Professor." she assured as her mouth ascended on his manhood. Remus groaned deeply and his hand wound into her hair before loosening his hold a bit. Hermione paused, pulling back at his hesitation. "You don't have to be gentle with me Remus, I won't break." He growled at that as she went back to her task. Sinking his hand back into her curls he tightened his hold as he pumped up into her mouth. Groaning around him Hermione felt her body tingle with excitement at his dominance.

"Harder Remus." Hermione moaned. Receiving her encouragement Remus let go of his inhibitions and pounded into her relentlessly. The sounds of moaning, groaning, panting, and the slapping of skin filled the room and the two of them got lost in eachother.
The next morning the sun was creeping through her window when Hermione came to. Remus had his arms around her and she was flushed against him. The previous night flashed through her mind causing her to giggle softly.
"Something funny Pet?" Remus grumbled sleepily as he shifted to look at her. Hermione smiled at him and swooped him into a kiss.
"Just happy." Laughter came sounding through her walls and the pair of them looked at each other confused. Teddy could be heard laughing loudly as they hurried to get dressed and find out what was happening.
Shuffling towards the noise the couple came to a halt outside of the kitchen where they could hear an assortment of noises followed by laughter.
"Harry?" Hermione questioned as they stepped into the room seeing Harry and Teddy cooking at the stove. "When did you get home?"
"Morning Mione. I got home super early this morning. You both seemed to be fairly occupied at the time so I made sure to get this little troublemaker here up and dressed so you guys could have some needed rest." Harry waggled his eyebrows at her teasingly before turning back to the stove chuckling at the look on her face. Hermione could feel the blush on her cheeks and turned to see Remus with a shade of red caressing his face. Remus cleared his throat awkwardly.
"Well welcome home Harry. Any plans for today?" he asked, trying to change the subject. Harry let out a laugh before turning back to face Remus.
"Actually I was hoping to take my wonderful godson out today so we could spend the day together. I've missed him and thought you two could uhh use some free time." Harry explained with a smile. Remus looked over to see Teddy hopping off the counter into Hermione's arms and smiled before looking back to Harry. The two of them shared a knowing look before Remus nodded.
"Sounds like a plan." Remus told him.
That evening while Harry and Teddy were out Remus cooked Hermione a steak dinner and set the table with candles before calling her down. She was just bottling her last batch of potions when he called for her so she tidied her space before freshening up. Stepping into the dinning room Hermione's breath caught in her throat.
"Hello beautiful." Remus greeted her. Hermione smiled and looked at him.
"Hello there." She replied shyly. "What's all this?" Remus pulled out her seat and motioned her to sit.
"I just thought we could talk over a nice dinner." He told her, as he took the seat across from her and poured the wine. Hermione suddenly felt nerves creeping in.
"What did you want to talk about Remus?" She asked. Remus could see the nerves written all over her face so he decided not to torture the woman. He gave a small chuckle before he began.
"Hermione these past years here with you have given me some of the best moments of my life. I have loved being around you and watching you with Teddy. I don't think I would have been able to function without you. That being said I know we have always been friends during these moments but I'm afraid I've been longing for that to change for longer than I've allowed myself to acknowledge. You are absolutely remarkable Mi. I know I come as a package deal and have some furry complications too but I adore you and so does Teddy. I'm hoping that last night was the beginning of something I think we both want." Hermione's eyes glistened as she let out a breath of relief.
"Remus I absolutely adore both you and Teddy. There's nothing that makes me happier than being with the two of you. I'd be absolutely delighted to have you both and also help you with every complication in life, especially the furry ones." Hermione took Remus' hand across the table. "You two are my everything." Remus gave her a dazzling smile and squoze her hand gently.
Just as the couple was being shooed away by Kreacher the floo sounded. Kreacher had told them he would be cleaning the kitchen and dining room since they had cooked for themselves. As they walked towards the sitting room Teddys laughter carried throughout the house. The couples smiled as they entered to see Harry with the boy on his back.
"Dad! My Mione!" The boy shouted at them as he jumped down to run to them. "Harry took me everywhere today!! We had loads of fun!! I even got to feed a ferret at the pet place we went to! Can I have a ferret?! Please please!!?" The boy shouted as he bounced up and down with excitement. Hermione just smiled as she watched him go. "I told the lady I definitely wanted one but she told me to ask my parents and come back. So can I have one?" Teddy looked back and forth between the two of them.
"Having a pet is a big responsibility Teddy boy." Remus stated.
"I know but I promise I will take good care of it I swear!" Teddy pleaded.
"Okay. It's alright with me then but you have to really take good care of it." Remus told him. Teddy nodded rapidly and turned to Hermione.
"So can I?" He asked her. Hermione seemed confused at this since Remus had just given him the go ahead.
"My Teddy Bear, your father just said yes, why are you still asking me?" she questioned.
"Well the lady said I had to ask my parents so I thought you both would have to agree." He explained. At his explanation Hermione's eyes widened a bit before she looked at Remus. Harry was just grinning as he watched the scene before him sitting in his favorite chair.
"So what's the verdict Mom and Dad?" Harry asked with a laugh. Remus smiled and Hermione blushed.
"Yeah Mom and Dad! Teddy added. Hermione swept Teddy into her arms.
"We will go pick one out tomorrow." Hermione told him. Teddy hugged her tight before hugging Remus as well.
"You guys are the best parents ever!" He exclaimed before rushing out of the room to head upstairs.
Silence settled in the room for a moment as the three adults watched the door close. Harry was the first to speak.
"He called you guys his parents all day today. When someone asked what we were doing he said he was spending the day with his uncle while his parents had some free time. We even ran into George at the joke shop and Teddy told him his parents wouldn't approve of him getting into too much trouble playing pranks." Hermione didn't even realize she was crying til she felt Remus wipe some of her tears away.
"Well I guess it's safe to say this transition is going to go well with him." Remus told her. Harry laughed at that.
"Is it even going to be a transition at all? I mean you three were always a family." He told the couple.
