Chapter 48
A little while later, Charming and Snow ask everyone to gather round them.
"Hi everyone" says Snow, "Thank you for coming today to help us celebrate our daughter Emma's 29th birthday".
"We know there's not usually a party as big as this for a 29th, but we, well Snow wanted to do it because we weren't there for her other birthdays".
"Yeah, oh Emma we had such plans, when I was pregnant with you I imagined holding you in my arms, teaching you how to walk and talk, I imagined helping you with your hair while you got ready for your first ball, but the curse changed that. Emma, you know if we could change the past we would love to, but then again, if we did, we probably wouldn't have Henry, so I guess it's kind of a blessing in disguise, anyway, happy birthday sweetie, we love you".
"Everyone, please raise your glasses, to Emma".
"To Emma" chorus the townspeople.
"All right then, as you were".
Then everyone continues to party on, dancing, drinking, eating and talking, Emma though goes up to her parents.
"Don't do a speech like that again, or next time, I will cry".
Emma then hugs her mother which Snow of course reciprocates.
"I actually have another gift for you" says Snow.
"You do?"
"Yeah, hold on"
Snow then reaches behind her and gets a box off of the table, its white with a big red Bow on it. Emma opens it and find a little jewel encrusted baby rattle.
"That was supposed to be your baby rattle".
"Where did you find it?" asks Charming.
"Rumplestiltskin, it was just sitting in one of the display cases in his shop, along with a few other things from the nursery".
"Like what?"
"The unicorn mobile that hung over your crib, a few jewels you were gifted with at the equivalent of that worlds baby shower as well as, well, there was one of your teddies there too".
"There was!"
"Yeah, it's all in the house, I'll show you tomorrow"
"Okay"
"Now go on, go have fun, it is your birthday"
"I will, and thank you, I'm actually enjoying myself, you know how to throw one hell of a party"
"Thank you"
Emma then walks away into the crows, talking to people as she goes. A few minutes later Ashley, Sean and Alexandra come over to her.
"Hi guys, are you enjoying yourself?"
"We are, though we will have to go soon, it's almost Alexandra's bedtime"
"Of course, how is she?"
"She's amazing"
"Good"
"Oh and Emma, before I forget, happy birthday".
Ashley then hands her a box, which she opens to find, nestled among crepe paper a charm bracelet, with charms of a glass slipper, a red apple, a small spinning wheel and a rose.
"This is amazing, I love it, thank you"
"You're welcome"
"See ya soon yeah"
"Bye"
Emma walks off and runs into Neal/Bae.
"Hey Emma"
"Neal, hi".
"How are you finding your party?"
"Good, how are you finding it?"
"It's cool"
"Henry's really excited for Saturday"
"He'd better be, I've got the whole day planned, I thought we'd go to granny's for dinner, go play some soccer, maybe go to the beach for a bit and have an ice cream and then back to the house for dinner with my dad and Belle and maybe watch a movie before bed".
"Sounds like you're all sorted"
"I guess I am".
"Just don't give him too much sugar ok"
"Deal"
"Now if you excuse me I gotta go find Archie, I think we wanted to talk to me"
"Okay, and Emma?"
"Yeah"
"You look great"
"Thanks"
The two of them then walk in separate directions.
