CHAPTER 50
Keyblade Masters And Villains
The sound of a tapping finger caused her to stir. Then there was a loud splashing noise as something cold and wet covered her. In the time it would take to blink your eye, Violet opened her eyes and sat up. She swept her eyes across the room in alarm. Seeing a short mouse with large, round ears standing before her with a duck-pilot holding a bucket with some water, she relaxed.
It was simply Mickey and the pilot, Launchpad.
As she started to move for an easier sitting position, Violet noticed how her dress was soaked with water; even her wings were drenched and dripping. Her antennae were sagging and now dangled low enough for her to just look up and see it blocking part of her view. She sighed, now knowing Launchpad had dumped a bucket of water on her and….
"Riku?" She whirled her head around to find the silver-headed teenage Keyblade wielder still trying to sit up from the now-drenched carpet on the floor. He looked around with a look that seemed to read, 'Huh?'
That was when Violet noticed the fiery-red-haired man in the black coat sitting backwards in a white chair; he was smiling at her. To Launchpad and Mickey's left was the standing figure of Master Yen Sid; he was also smiling down at her and Riku alike.
It suddenly occurred to her. What about Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, and that girl Riku had been arguing with minutes before they had re-entered the Realm of Sleep to save Sora?
Riku suddenly sat up in a hurry; he had a frightened look in his eyes. "Sora!" he shouted.
The sounds of laughing and clattering silverware seized the attention of Violet and Riku. Nearby, they spotted a small party table in the form of a circle. On the table were a variety of items that included: five large plates stacked on a special-designed frame, three or four smaller plates with cups of something or other, ten dozen cookies of different kinds, twenty muffins, and fourteen donuts in a variety of flavors. In the exact middle of the table was a large chocolate cake with strawberries and cream icing traced along the outside rim and down the sides.
A set of three white chairs surrounded the table. To Riku and Violet's surprise, the unmistakable forms of Donald and Goofy were sitting in two of the chairs. In the third was a young man with spikey-brown hair. Since his back was turned to them, they could not identify him. Also seated at the table was a young woman with blond hair tied into a short ponytail, mildly-tanned sin, and deep blue eyes. She had a yellow shirt, sea-green jacket, blue skirt, and orange hiking boots. Thanks to a blue scarf that was tied around her waist and the blue bracelet on her left wrist, Violet realized it was Niccole — the same girl Riku had quarreled with. Except now Niccole had a pinkish-red party hat on her head and a pair of giant, yellow sunglasses shrouded out her eyes.
As Goofy started sipping from his cup, Donald grabbed a baker's dozen worth of cookies, four or five muffins, and eight of the donuts. He was starting to gobble them all up rapidly when the young man said, "Hey, Donald! Come on! You're hogging it all!"
Donald frowned at the spikey-haired young man. "Aw, calm down, Sora! Drink your tea!"
"A-Hyuck!" Goofy spoke up. He licked his lips and pointed at his cup. "Gawrsh, it sure is yummy."
Niccole sipped some from her cup and paused for a brief moment. "I think it needs more sugar," she said. "Perhaps salt and pepper would do the trick."
Seeing all this taking place, Riku shouted, "Hey!"
The young man stopped eating his chocolate donut with the cherry filling long enough to turn around. What a sight — an amusing sight (as Violet thought to herself). There was Sora with a reddish-pink party hat strapped to his head and pair of red glasses with a pretend nose and mustache covering his face. With his famous smile on his face, Sora removed the glasses and party hat. His eyes were almost to the point of tears. "Riku… "
Before anyone could speak, let alone breathe, Sora jumped from his chair and landed in Riku's arms. He started squeezing the silver-haired teenager in an extremely tight embrace. "You're safe! Riku!" he yelled with excitement.
Violet nearly leaped to one side as Sora hugged his childhood friend so much, Riku was on the verge of being choked. When Sora finally stopped squeezing, Riku had to opportunity to ask him something. Sora looked at his friend with overly-excited eyes.
"Wait," the silver-headed youth spoke up. "Haven't we got this backwards? And… why are you having a tea party?"
Sora clearly wasn't paying an ounce of attention. "You're safe, Riku!" he hollered with happiness. His arms flew around Riku's torso with haste. This sight made Violet shake her head.
Riku gave a deep sigh. "Ah, never mind," he said before gazing at Sora. "You okay? Feeling alright?"
Sora released his grip. "Yeah," he replied, flexing his right arm. "I've never been better."
Violet crossed her arms. "Are you certain that is truthful?"
Now Sora's eyes were focused on the angel. His smile grew all the larger. "Violet!" he declared, hopping onto the angel with outstretched arms. "You're here! And you're safe!"
Violet was wishing she had never opened her mouth. Sora was squeezing her upper body so tightly, she could seldom breathe. She finally gained the strength to break free from the spikey, brown-headed sixteen-year-old's grasp. "Look," she firmly stated, scooting back so he could not leap onto her so easily. "Do not ever leap onto me like that for the remainder of eternity!"
Sora only showed his innocent smile; Violet thought it looked full of child-like wonder. This was the same sensation she had gotten whenever she had been near Goofy — both in the dreams of the Country of The Musketeers and in the real world(s).
"I was watching what was going on in my dream," Sora informed the two. "And I could hear your voices the whole time. Thanks, Riku. You too, Violet."
Riku nodded while Violet smiled gave another shake of her head, although this time she did so at a much slower speed.
Sora gazed at everyone behind them. "Thanks, everybody!"
At the table, Donald and Goofy glanced at each other; they started chuckling softly while Niccole covered her mouth to keep her giggles muffled and hidden from view. Mickey nodded with a chuckle of his own; Lea did the same. Even Launchpad had a reaction; he crossed his arms and muttered, "Well, they did just save someone's life… or did they just go play the game 'LIFE'?"
Master Yen Sid was still standing where he'd been the entire time, slowly stroking his beard. Sora, Riku, and Violet all whirled their eyes toward him. "Oh yeah!" Sora proclaimed to the older sorcerer. "Did we pass the test?"
Yen Sid smiled at the brown-headed youth and Riku. "You performed truly admirably… both of you."
Violet had to smile when Sora and Riku exchanged looks of eager anticipation. The two teenagers leapt to their feet and rushed to their places before Yen Sid's desk. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Launchpad all hurried to the left of the desk, even though Goofy remained seated at the table and continued munching on a donut or three. As he jumped from the chair, Lea accidentally knocked it onto the floor; it missed Violet's feet by a few inches. Niccole remained at the table as she carefully ate a slice of the cake. Lea was now at his spot, leaning against the wall near the door and beside a fallen bookshelf with a pile of books.
As Violet was rising to her feet in the midst of the rushing around, she felt something on her head between her antennae. She reached up to discover what it was. Finding a string tightly around her neck, she felt what seemed to be a pointed hat like Sora's party one and Yen Sid's magical hat. She had to smile; it was clear someone had placed it upon her head while Riku and her were still "sleeping". Who could it have been? The best choices were Goofy or Sora. After witnessing Sora's excited behavior, she had to conclude it was the sixteen-year-old Keyblade wielder.
With a smile of her own, Violet stepped over to the other side of the desk from the table and Mickey and others. She was starting to carefully squeeze the water of her wings when Yen Sid started to speak. "More than anything, I am grateful to have you both back from Xehanort's deception unharmed."
Gazing in the direction of where Lea was standing and where Niccole was sitting, the sorcerer added, "And I am grateful to Lea and Niccole, whose spontaneous actions turned the tides."
Both Lea and Niccole exchanged glances, which Violet noticed made Riku show a hint of nervousness. Why this was the case, the angel was uncertain. Yet, she had the slightest sensation it had something to do with the dispute Riku and Niccole were still engaged in.
Yen Sid now turned to face Violet. "And I am also grateful to Violet," he said, gestured at her. "For leading Sora and Riku through the Sleeping Worlds and providing much-needed assistance when things got tough."
Violet had to smile brighter. "It was no challenge," she remarked. She had not anticipated being recognized for providing help to anybody until now. As it so happened… she enjoyed it.
Yen Sid was now looking at both Sora and Riku. He glanced down at his desk and closed his eyes. "I am also deeply sorry," he continued. "For failing to perceive the danger and throwing you both headlong into a perilous test."
The sorcerer reopened his eyes and continued looking at the two teens before him. "This experience has revealed many hidden truths," he stated. "And we must gird ourselves for the great clash with Darkness that lies before us. I believe we need a new Keyblade Master — one with a new kind of power."
Taking a quick look over Sora and Riku alike, Yen Sid said, "Sora and Riku, you both deserve the honor. However, only one of you two braved the 'Realm of Sleep' again to unlock a final Keyhole and save a friend. In addition, another among us has also gained the power to wield a Keyblade and, as such, I believe they have also passed the test."
"What do ya mean?" Goofy asked with a rather full mouth. This resulted in stern looks from Donald and Niccole. Goofy covered his mouth in a hurry.
"There was never anything in the rules about such circumstances," Yen Sid explained. "I believe it's time to make an exception. Should anyone else enter a 'Mark of Mastery Exam' that's currently-in-progress with a Keyblade of their own, they too can receive the title of a true Keyblade Master."
Everyone exchanged glances at one another. Was the retired Keyblade Master bending the rules? Since when did such a thing ever happen?
"Riku, Violet," Yen Sid declared gesturing at the silver-haired youth and the angel close by. "I hereby name you our new True Keyblade Masters."
Violet was as speechless as Riku. Despite not having possessed a Keyblade until recently, she had gone above and beyond what was expected. Now, she had not only succeeded in locating a method out of the Realm of Sleep, but she had achieved the success of becoming a Keyblade Master. Talk about too much happening too rapidly! Wait until "she" heard about this!
Riku was unable to breathe. Was this really happening? Or was it all part of some make-believe fantasy he had dreamt up? Maybe he was still in the Realm of Sleep and was facing a bunch of illusions. After all, if he had truly passed the examination… he would never have to worry about the Darkness trying to control him anymore for the rest of his life.
Sora turned to Riku with a brilliant smile on his face. He reached out and yanked Violet closer; the angel was startled to be so close to the two teenagers. "Way to go, Riku and Violet!" Sora cheered. "I knew you'd two pass with flying colors! This just so… beyond COOL!"
"Y-yeah?" Riku muttered in a soft voice.
Goofy seemed confused. "Gee, Sora," he said. "You're kinda acting like it's you who passed."
Donald let out a soft laugh. "I told ya Sora still needed some practice."
"Hey," Sora stated, staring at the duck. "I had to give it a shot, right?"
Riku knew it was official. He was a Keyblade Master and had successfully conquered the Darkness in his heart — forever! No longer would Ansem—Xehanort's Heartless pose a threat. He was free without a single worry. His dark memories were over, and he would never have to relive any of them ever again.
"Really?" he said, barely able to bring out the words. "I'm a Keyblade… Master?"
Violet nodded. "That would be correct," she affirmed.
Niccole calmly approached the silver-haired seventeen-year-old. She placed her right hand onto his left hand. "You have changed," she said. "This time… it's for the best. Congratulations, Riku."
Riku seemed a little anxious. "Yeah," he said. "Alright."
Niccole removed her hand and crossed her arms with a scowl. "Haven't you learned not to just say 'alright' to a girl?!"
Riku gave a grin. "I'm still bad at this," he admitted. "Sorry."
As Niccole shook her head and smiled a little, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Sora all muffled laughter. Mickey then strode forwards and extended his right hand. "Congratulations, Riku!" the mouse said. Donald and Goofy gave nods of agreement.
Riku gladly accepted the mouse's hand; they shook them. "Thank you, Mickey."
Gesturing at the others gathered around the room, Riku added, "I owe it all to my friends."
Sora started to laugh when he saw Violet smiling but looking at the floor. He pointed at her. "Don't forget Violet!" he declared. "She's a Keyblade Master, too!"
Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Launchpad all approached the angel. Mickey shook her hand. "Congratulations, Violet!"
"Yeah," Donald agreed. "You did it!"
"Gawrsh," Goofy said. "Hope it wasn't too dark for ya."
"No problem-o!" Launchpad stated. "Angels can't be scared of the dark! They just have to glow and let their halos and harps brighten everything."
Violet had to shake her head once more. "Thank you so much!"
"Ah," Lea spoke up from the other side of the chamber. "I'll catch up with you two in no time flat."
Everyone swung their focus to the spikey, red-headed young man leaning against the wall. Sora smirked a grin. "What?" he asked. "You wanna be a Keyblade Master?"
"Yeah," Lea admitted. "I mean, I came here to learn how to wield one."
Everyone except Yen Sid, Niccole, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy stared at Lea. "YOU?!" Sora, Riku, and Violet all exclaimed in complete astonishment.
Launchpad yawned at the sight. "This is boring," he muttered to no one in particular. "Why's everything so cliché? Heh, heh! Must be why they gotta be creative, even if nothing is ever original."
Violet shook her head at the pilot. If there was ever such a thing as breaking the fourth wall, he had just done so.
"Hey," Lea shouted back in a sarcastic tone of voice. "Thanks for the vote of confidence. You know, I was gonna come swooping in — Keyblade in hand like the King and Niccole! But I just couldn't get mine to materialize."
With a sigh, Lea extended his right hand. "Must be in the snap of the wrist or something."
At once, a flurry of flames flew around his right hand. In their place appeared a key-shaped weapon with a red-and-white chakram attached to a flame-designed blade. The flames curved at the end of the blade to form what seemed to be part of an umbrella handle. Lea gasped in surprise at the sight.
That wasn't all. Everyone else in the room stared in complete shock and amazement. Yen Sid even leapt from his chair with wonder in his eyes. It was clear none of them had expected something like this taking place. "WHOA!"
"See?" Launchpad spoke up after several long seconds had passed. "Anybody can get a Keyblade!"
"Yeah," Goofy said in marvel. The knight's eyes were staring at the weapon in Lea's hands. "If anyone can get one, maybe I can, too! A-Hyuck!"
Donald glared at Goofy and Launchpad. "Hey!" he snarled. "That's not fair! I want a Keyblade, too!"
Sora gazed at his friends. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah!" an excited Donald declared.
"Yup!" Goofy stated in turn. "Me, too!"
"You said it!" Launchpad agreed.
All Violet could do was shake her head. If Donald, Goofy, or Launchpad ever became an actual Keyblade wielder — let alone a Keyblade Master — it was a sight she would have to see for herself. What a display that would end up being!
Lea's smirk returned and he gazed at the weapon in his hand. He spun it around like a windmill for about twenty seconds before placing it behind his right shoulder. Everyone else looked at him in both awe and mystification.
"Where'd you learn that cool move?" Sora inquired.
"My brother showed me it once," Lea explained. "He said it was the signature victory-dance of one of his acquaintances. I knew I would have the chance to try it sometime."
In the background, a short piece of music started to play as Lea demonstrated the move once more. To Sora, Riku, and Violet, it sounded a little like the soundtrack from a videogame. Riku had to shake his head; he knew that game all too well.
The sun was still in an era of twilight over the lonely tower. Although dawn was approaching, there was no indication of how long it would be before daybreak. It did not really matter, considering the world never saw a sunrise nor a sunset. In fact, the location of the structure was so close to hamlet of Twilight Town, it would be impossible to know exactly what time of day it was without some form of a clock; even a watch would be helpful.
A slight breeze started to blow and crickets were chirping as the twin doors at the main entrance opened. Out stepped a cheerful and excited Sora. He was followed by Donald, Goofy, and Mickey. Directly behind them was Riku followed by Niccole, and Launchpad. The last one out the door was Violet; the angel had a determined look on her face — one filled with excitement.
Donald and Goofy looked a little worried. "Do ya have to go?" Goofy asked.
Sora was nearing the edge of the tower's floating landmass. He stopped beside a stone fountain of water. "Well, I did doze off," he informed the group. "I have some 'stuff' to take care of."
"When shall you return?" Violet asked. She now had a look of concern on her face.
Sora shrugged. "Dunno," he admitted. "Fall break's ending and I've got classes."
He sighed. "They are kinda boring though."
Riku shook his head. He recalled how Sora had been yawning away while Merlin had been instructing Wart/Arthur back in Camelot. Even when Archimedes had insisted on teaching the boy, Sora had nearly dozed off altogether. "Yeah," the silver-haired youth-turned-Keyblade Master said. "I've got a few of my own. But mine are online."
Mickey smiled at Riku. "We've got the internet over at the castle," he said with a smile. "You can do your homework there."
Riku had to give another smile at the mouse. "Thanks, Mickey."
"Homework… again?" Donald sighed deeply. He shook his head sadly. This made everyone else chuckle, laugh and giggle.
Only Launchpad seemed a little confused. "I thought 'homework' was stuff you did at home," he said. "Isn't the stuff you get from school 'schoolwork'? Why would you have a school in a home?"
Niccole stepped closer to Riku. "I've never been to any 'school'," she admitted. "But I can teach you things about gardening."
"You sure?" Riku asked her.
"Of course," Niccole affirmed. "I used to be a flower. Remember? That's how we met."
Riku had to smile more. "Yeah. I got it."
Violet shook her head at the sight. She marched over to where Sora was standing. "You cannot proceed by yourself," she said. "I shall accompany you."
Sora looked like he'd been taken by complete surprise. "Are you sure?"
"Do not attempt to talk me out of it," the angel stated. "I shall always be victorious in that department. Plus, I would enjoy sight-seeing in another world."
Sora smiled. "Well, can't argue with that," he replied. "Come on. Let's go."
Donald still looked very concerned. "Are you gonna be okay?"
"Yeah," Sora reassured his friend(s). "Besides, I've got Violet to look out for me."
Violet shook her head and smiled all the more. Her radiance was now so significant, it could have easily been a competitor against the light of the Sun at high-noon. "True enough," she said.
"Be careful, you two!" Mickey called from the tower's doorstep.
Riku's smile was now well-beyond its normal maximum. "Very careful!"
Niccole smiled as she hugged the silver-haired teenager. "I still have a few things to discuss with you," she whispered into his ear. "But they can wait until tomorrow."
Riku gave a nod to the blonde-haired girl. "Yeah," he said with a feeling of uncertainty and uneasiness.
Sora and Violet turned to face each other. After exchanging nods between one another, they turned to face the others once more. "See you soon!" Sora called.
"Toodaloo!" Violet declared, waving at the others.
Goofy waved a white handkerchief at the pair. "Buh-bye!" he returned.
Donald waved with his right hand. "Bye, bye!"
"So long!" Mickey called.
"Hope I can show you some of my crashing skills next time!" Launchpad declared. This comment caused Donald to roll his eyes.
"Until later!" Riku called out.
Niccole released her grip on Riku and smiled at the two about to depart. "Good-bye," she declared waving with her left hand. "See you once your classes are done, Sora! I'll be looking forward to hearing from you too, Violet!"
With smiles of return, Sora and Violet gazed up at the seemingly-dark-colored sky above. Their Keyblades appeared in their hands. Pointing the weapons at the sky above, Sora and the angel watched as a huge Keyhole appeared. A ball of Light formed at the tips of each blade. The balls sent two beams of Light at the Keyhole. The beams merged a few inches from the Keyhole before striking it in the exact center. The Keyhole unlocked in a brilliance of Light before giving way for the tunnel of peaceful, warm, soothing Light.
Sora and Violet closed their eyes and relaxed as the tranquility of the serene Light engulfed them. They had ventured away from the Mysterious Tower before two seconds had passed.
The chamber was vast and large enough to be considered an enormous auditorium. It was also curved towards the back, although the front wasn't. It was dark inside with the exception of a handful of torches illuminating a series of tree-like roots along the walls; some of the roots had large thorns attached to the vines. If that wasn't enough to make someone feel anxious, the scent of the looming Darkness throughout the room would.
A large group of individuals were gathered in the chamber, which many of them had come to nickname "The Hall of Evil". A few of them were showing signs of eagerness while others were feeling a little nervous in the surrounding conditions.
At the far end of the room where the wall was flat, a doorway led onto a platform that seemed to resemble a stage. A wooden throne was situated on the platform. Seated in the throne itself was none other than Maleficent. Gathered beside her were four others — two on each side; they were all pleased to be in her Council's "inner circle". The four were easy to identify, even from a distance; the large cat-like man… the mouse with the long snout … the duck with the hypnotic eyes… and the trio of hooded figures with masks over their eyes — Pete, Mortimer Mouse, Cinnamon Teal, and the Beagle Boys respectively.
The five of them took a few minutes to sweep their eyes across the others gathered down below. Each and every member of the Council was present for this important meeting. Each member was different in more ways than one.
One was an older man with a wrinkled face, gray hair, and gray eyes. He was wearing dark robes, a purple-and-black-striped hat containing a red ribbon, and shoulder pads bearing red stripes. He also had two rings on each hand; they sported red, green, and blue colored jewels. One look at him, and it was clear this was a public official.
Another was a slender man with a long black ponytail, scar under his left eye, and a thick unibrow. He was dressed in what seemed to be a blue-colored lab-coat with a black belt and matching collar, black boots, and black gloves. His hands were rather small and he had pale, light-blue skin.
Beside the older man was a slender, anthropomorphic red wolf possessing a cream muzzle, bushy tail, both black nose and claws, sharp white fangs, ochre circles surrounding his eyes, and thick black eyebrows. His left ear was damaged and he was known to speak with a mixture of accents. He was wearing a blue Napoleon-style coat with a gold lining on its high collar, white pants, a crimson sash, black boots with gray bucket-tops, and a large true-pirate-styled sword. He had a pair of 4 gold buttons on the front side of his coat and a gold button on each his shoulders with matching cuffs that had gold borders.
Nearby was a slender woman with fair skin, red-polished fingernails, huge eyes that appeared to be bulging, and hair that was black on her right and white on the left. Her appearance was similar to a skeleton. Her outfit consisted of a short tank dress, red gloves, and a giant cream-colored fur coat with a red interior.
Next to her was an older man with a careworn face, balding brown hair, a hooked-nose, black eyes, and brown eyebrows. He was wearing a gray riding jacket, dark gray bandanna facing backwards, cream long-sleeved shirt with two buttons running vertically to his neckline, a brown vest, brown boots, and dark-grey pants with brown suspenders attached. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and he had an Indiana Jones-like hat with a dark brown band around on its brim, white teeth on the front, and a golden eagle feather.
One of the individuals who stood out was a tall, slender, muscular man with gray skin, sharp teeth, yellow eyes, and blue flames in place of hair. His clothing was simple, consisting of only a black robe with a skull design, which included the clip.
Beside the man with the flaming hair was a tall, soldier-like man with a scar on his right eye and a black moustache. He was wearing a blue uniform from what someone might identify as belonging to the Foreign Legion and yellow epaulets. On his head was a white cloth secured by a piece of rope; it strongly-resembled the head-gear worn by nomads in the desert.
There was also an anthropomorphic duck with wild, blue hair, an orange bill, and honey-yellow eyes. She was wearing a green turtle-neck shirt, light-blue skirt, and very dark-green trench-coat with rolled-up sleeves and matching shoes that seemed similar in design to slippers.
Beside her was a slender, young woman with dark skin, long blonde hair, and cyan eyes. She was wearing what anyone could have assumed was tribal clothing including gold bracelets and anklets. She was also barefoot and holding a golden staff that reminded Pete of Jafar's snake staff; this one, however, turned out to be a leopard's head.
Close by was a very slender woman who seemed extremely old. Her physical body was shriveled like a skeleton. She was also completely bald with pale lavender skin, a wrinkled face, red lips, white eyes with small black pupils, purple eyelids, long black eyelashes, thin black eyebrows, light gray circles under her eyes, and red-polished fingernails and toenails. She was dressed in a black dress that stretched down to the floor and sported a feathery-like collar with a giant feather stretching out from behind her neck and curving over her head like a leaf. On her feet were a pair of black sandals. To Pete and Mortimer, she looked hideous beyond their imaginations; not even Maleficent could top her.
Close by was a small, slender young woman sporting fair tan skin, wavy, thick, auburn hair, and amber eyes. She was dressed like a pirate with a standard sailor-like outfit. What stood out the most was her wings, which seemed to resemble a fairy.
On the other side of the room stood a slender man with a white wig. He was wearing elegant, Georgian clothing along with a black, three-cornered hat. From the stage, Cinnamon Teal was eyeing him; he had been very polite to her….
There was also a tall, slender man with black curly hair, a handlebar mustache and goatee, and blue eyes. He was dressed entirely in black clothing and a matching cape. Even with his top hat, he seemed to resemble a magician.
Nearby was a tall, slender man with dark-black hair and blue eyes. Although he was wearing a nice, black suit, his constant glare was making Pete feel really nervous. It didn't help that this particular individual had a metal claw in place of his left hand.
Between the two men was yet another man of about middle age with blond hair. He was dressed in what seemed to be a faded blue suit with sunglasses. He also had an interesting-looking pipe in his pocket. He was paying close attention with a straight face; he looked to the Beagle Boys like a man on the job.
There was also a large man close to Pete's size sporting long dark-red mullet-style hair, thick red eyebrows, a short red goatee, long angular mustache, and large gray bags under his murky-green eyes. His outfit consisted of a large brown coat, orange shirt, red frills, a blue tie, tan gloves, both brown pants and leather belt with a golden buckle, a gray cowboy-like hat with black band around on its brim, and tan boots.
There was also one trio of figures. They were rats with large noses, two had red noses while the third had a black nose. One was large and reddish-orange. Another was light-grey with a slender body, and the third was also slender with darker-brown fur.
In addition, there was also a young woman with reddish-orange hair consisting of three strands hanging from the top over her face, blue eyes, very pale skin, pointed ears, black eyebrows, and pinkish lips. Her outfit was a complex one; the upper part seemed to be a dress with dark-green color, the middle was a small purple skirt secured by pink vines around her waist, the lower part was what appeared to be pants in the same design as the top, and had a leaf-like design. The sides of her dark-green clothing had light-green lines that seemed to have been splotched on. Her feet were covered by a pair of pinkish-purple elf-like shoes, and she had a purple-colored hairband with a tiny, green wine wrapped around it nestled in her hair. A golden-colored vine was wrapped around her right wrist like a bracelet and she had a strawberry-designed tattoo on her right shoulder. What also stood out about her appearance was a set of transparent wings that seemed to be shaped like leaves; she seemed to significantly-resemble a fairy, too.
Maleficent finally rose from her throne and approached the edge of the stage. All the chatter down below ceased a moment later. With her staff in hand, Maleficent raised her arms and declared, "My Council, we have a chance to make history. It is known that a certain book exists — the 'Tome of Prophecy'. Should we get our hands on this piece of literature, we can rule all the worlds — together!"
Several of the evildoers below cheered a little. Maleficent gave an evil smile; her approach was working. "To that end," she continued, "We should all be on the alert. That wretched Keyblade-holder and his pitiful lackeys might try to stop us every step of the way."
"But why can't we do all this from the old castle?" Pete asked.
Maleficent gazed at him through the corner of her eye. This made Pete cringe back in fear and become well-above nervous. "That castle is unworthy," she informed the large cat-man. "There's been a change of plans, thanks to the meddling of that no-good Xehanort and… 'her'."
"Who's this 'her'?" Mortimer inquired.
Maleficent clutched her staff tightly and gritted her teeth. "An old rival," she stated. "One who should never have interfered with our plans."
A number of "Boo"(s) echoed from below. Maleficent raised her hands to silence them. "However," she resumed with his sinister smile returning. "That is no concern of yours. Be ready to report anything suspicious at any time while more plans are drawn up. If any of you have any clues as to the whereabouts of the legendary 'Tome of Prophecy', please share them with any of the members of our 'inner circle'."
Without another word, Maleficent vanished into a pillar of green flame and smoke. Down below, the villains were all starting to chatter amongst each other. Although Maleficent, Pete, Mortimer, Cinnamon Teal, and the Beagle Boys were confident about their upcoming success, little did they know…
…Some of the villains were not as loyal as they seemed to be.
A/N: HIP-HIP-HORRAY! CHAPTER 50 IS DONE! THE STORY IS ALMOST OVER ALTOGETHER!
What Do I Mean? Simple! There Is STILL An Epilogue AND A Secret Ending To Come! Until Then, THAT'S THAT! Stay Tuned For More!
So, I Sincerely HOPE You Enjoyed How The Main Story Concluded! Not Only Did Riku Become A Keyblade Master, But Violet Did, Too! How's THAT For A Surprise?
In Case You're Wondering Who Placed The Party Hat On Violet's Head... It Was Sora.
Also, I wonder if any of You noticed Launchpad's "Fourth Wall Joke" [Cliché(s)]? Plus, I hid a "Final Fantasy VII" Reference in there - Try To Find It! Also, try to picture Donald Duck, Goofy, and Launchpad McQuack with Keyblades of their own! You'd probably want to say, "'LOOK OUT!'"
Well, Now Sora Is Off To Finish His Classes, And Violet Is Off To Explore The Worlds - If She Can Cross Between Them, That Is!
You Might Be A Little Uncertain About Who All Those Villains Are In "Maleficent's Council", Am I Correct? All I Can Say Is 5 Things:
(1.) Pete is the Same version from The "Kingdom Hearts" Games.
(2.) Mortimer Mouse is the version from the "House of Mouse -T.V. Series".
(3.) Cinnamon Teal is from the "DuckTales -T.V. Series" - Specifically, the episode "Spies In Their Eyes".
(4.) The Beagle Boys are from "Mickey, Donald, Goofy - The Three Musketeers (2004)" (I Couldn't Imagine NOT Including Them Again!).
(5.) See if You can Identify each and every member of the Council! I used detailed descriptions the best I can - they ARE all Disney Villains, I mean it! Yet, they originated from a Variety of sources; Movies (Animated/Live-Action/3-D Animated), Various Video-Games, Disney T.V. Series, Disney Comic(s) And Graphic Novels, Etc.
You May Want To Do Some Research To Determine Who Is Who! I Did My Best To Make Each Description One Paragraph For Each Villain.
Plus, I Still Wonder... Would You LIKE To See More Such Musical Sequences In The Sequel? Currently, I Have Planned To Include Some Of The Songs From The Movies Featured In The NEXT Story, But I'd Like Your Input Nonetheless. Please Post Your Answer(s) In The Reviews Sections For THIS Particular Chapter!
Once More, Thank You So Much!
So, Now That "Kingdom Hearts - World Unto Dreams" Is Rapidly Drawing To A Close... I Have One Last Thing To Say:
PLEASE DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT REVIEWING! THE FATE OF THIS STORY DEPENDS ON IT!
REMEMBER - BOTH GOAL(S) WERE MET! THIS MEANS THE SEQUEL AND SECRET ENDING SHALL BE REVEALED - VERY SOON!
