No idea where this came from, but I found it on my computer and decided to upload it since I haven't updated this in months.
Literally didn't do anything to this lol, but hopefully I'll update these oneshots soon with an actual oneshot lol.
"You can't keep pushing me away and expect that I stick around!"
"Hermione, please, I -"
She laughed, but it was devoid of humor.
"Please what, Draco? Please stay another night so you can hurt me again in the morning? Please forgive you again? Please forget everything that's happened between us? Please what?"
He ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head, "No - yes. For fucks sake, Hermione, please just listen to me."
She shook her head, grabbing her purse from the counter of Draco's flat.
"No, I don't want to listen anymore. I don't want you to hurt me anymore." she said the last part softly, one tear sliding down her cheek.
Draco's heart constricted at the sight and he took a step towards her, but she stepped back.
"Don't. Don't do that."
"Why?"
"Because you'll make me stay, and I don't want to anymore." she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Please, baby, I lo -"
"Don't," she pleaded, her eyes wide and shiny with unshed tears, "Don't say that to me. Not now. Not after everything."
"But it's true." he said, taking a step toward her, "I do love you."
Tears flowed down her cheeks freely then, but she couldn't manage to step away from him.
"Hermione, I love you. I never stopped loving you. I will never stop loving you. And I am so sorry that I didn't tell you before now." he said, his eyes shining with sincerity.
He needed her to believe him. He needed her to see that he was different now. That they were different now.
He'd fucked up a lot in the past, he'd be the first to admit that, but he was different - she'd made him different. He knew that she had everything to do with his sudden change in attitude - change in everything really.
She was like a breath of fresh air, and she'd made him see everything clearly.
But of course he'd fucked that up too.
She'd told him that she loved him, and he'd said nothing. Of course she'd said it was okay, like only Hermione could, and he'd stupidly believed her.
Weeks had gone by and he'd known that she was pulling away from him, but he hadn't done anything, said anything, even though he loved her. He'd known he loved her even before she'd told him.
But he hadn't said anything, and it had all come to a head tonight.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier? How am I supposed to believe that you really mean that? That you aren't just saying that so I'll stay?"
He took another step towards her, glad that she didn't step back, and said, "Because if I didn't love you, why would any of this be important to me? I want to be with you, Hermione. Only you."
"I'm scared, Draco. Terrified, even."
"Of what?"
"You." she said, her voice breaking on the word.
"Me?"
"I'm so terrified that I love you so much more than you could ever love me."
"Oh, baby," he shook his head, closing the remaining distance between them, and pulled her into a hug, "I love you more than anything - I was just too big of a coward to admit it."
A sob wracked her small body, and he tightened his arms around her.
"Please don't cry." he whispered, but it only seemed to make her cry harder.
"Tell me what I need to do. Tell me how to fix this."
She wrapped her arms around his waist, her nails digging into his back, but he didn't care. She was still here - holding him. The rest didn't matter.
"I - I - I just wanted you t-t-to tell me tha-at." she said, trying to talk around her hiccuping sobs.
"Shh, baby, it's okay. I'm going to tell you everyday, a thousand times a day, as long as you'll let me." he said, and he meant it.
He gently stroked her hair, waiting until her tears had subsided to small hiccups every now and then, and he said, "I love you, Hermione Jean Granger."
Her breathing faltered momentarily and she looked up at his beautiful face, seeing exactly what she'd always hoped to see.
"I love you too." she said softly.
Draco's answering smile was dazzling, and Hermione only had a second to react before he caught her lips in a searing kiss.
One of his hands went to her hair, and the other to her lower back, holding her to him.
The kiss was sweet, but filled with passion. He wanted her, and she wanted him.
"Draco," she said softly, pulling away to look into his silver eyes, "I want you to make love to me."
His eyes widened a fraction, before they darkened with lust, and a smirk played over his handsome features, "Baby, I fully intend to."
Now that he had her, there was no way he was letting her go.
