Chapter 7: The Start of Something Fierce

Kaname took a deep breath before directing his attention to his four friends all dressed in their casual everyday clothes.

"Don't tell me he forced you guys here too?" Kaname asked as his mind slowly began to make sense of things.

"All except me…" Takuma answered raising his hand. "I willingly accepted his invite when he called me. And since Senri is back, he wanted to get the chance to met Zero while we're here."

"Speaking of Zero…where is he?" Kain asked when he noticed that the silver haired neko wasn't beside Kaname as he usually was.

Kaname sighed and pointed to the building behind him. "He's in there."

Four pairs of eyes looked over Kaname's shoulder to the building that had a large sign that read 'Chuck E Cheeses.'

"You can't be serious?" Aidou said disbelievingly despite the fact that the building was standing right there. "Please tell me this is not where he plans on taking you for your belated birthday gift?"

"Oh but it is." Kaname frowned and instantly after his confirmation, Kain and Aidou burst out in an up roar of laughter. Takuma held his behind a smile while Shiki looked on with an amused look upon his usually solemn face.

Kaname had given himself a day off so that he could try to relax and recover from his chaotic week, but knowing his neko like he did that wasn't going to happen any time soon. Especially all that has happened up to this point so far.

Wednesday night he had unintentionally groped an old lady's breast at his surprise party, followed by his purchase of an exotic animal from a mysterious website. Thursday morning he was surprised by his purchase when it turned out to be a neko and when Kaname tried to explain the situation to his friends they weren't buying his story that same Thursday night. Friday was the whole fish tank and pirate episode. Saturday was the samurai battle at the supermarket. Now it was Sunday and after discovering his master's birthday had past, Zero wanted to plan something special for him, which Kaname at first thought was sweet until he showed up here.

Apparently after watching a commercial of Chuck E Cheeses on the TV Friday night, Zero had been awed by the little kids playing games and having fun. Zero had thought that if he had brought his master here then he too would be like those happy kids. But right now Kaname was not smiling at all.

"I don't see how any of this is funny?"

Kain wiped a tear from his eye before he stopped with his laughter to look at his friend. "Sorry it's just that Zero never ceases to amaze me with his unpredictable personality."

Kaname simply rolled his eyes before turning away. The brunette took a long look at the Chuck E Cheese's sign once more before finally venturing in.

The inside was bigger compared to what it looked like outside. There were at least three different sections in total. The section closest to Kaname's right was the arcade room with varies types of interactive games. The section to Kaname's left was where the tunnels and ball pits were.

Diagonal from the tunnel room was the dining area where every ten minutes the Chuck E Cheese's mascot and his fellow animatronics friends would play a live song for the audience as they ate. In the center was the prize collection counter where kids stood in line to get their prizes after they delivered their tickets. The place itself wasn't that crowded but it was still noisy from all the kids that went from room to room to the different sections.

Kaname's nose cringed at the smell of grease, sweat and snot the further he walked in; his eyes scanned for the baseball cap wearing neko who was no doubt already enjoying himself.

After a minute of searching, Kaname spotted him in front of a token dispensing machine.

"Master look!" Zero shouted over the already noisy children to the brunette who stopped beside him. "This machine shits golden tokens! It's like that cock from the fable!"

"Zero!" Kaname huffed. "Where in gods name did you learn that word from?"

"What word?" Zero asked titling his head.

"You know…that word you just said."

Zero continued to look at Kaname with a confused look on his face.

"He means cock." Shiki said suddenly.

"Shiki!" Kaname turned toward his cousin. "You can't say that here!"

Senri shrugged his shoulders. "What? He's not going to know what you're talking about unless you go out and say it."

"He's right you know. Plus it wasn't a cock that laid the golden eggs it was a goose." Takuma added and was flashed a death glare by Kaname.

"Oh you mean that word." Zero said finally understanding. "I discovered it when I was looking up chicken recipes and a ad came up about underground cock fights."

Kaname face palmed. What the hell was with these idiotic ads that just popped out anywhere.

"Hey mister?"

Kaname looked down to see a little girl, who was busying sucking on a lollipop, looking up at him and his friends.

"Yes?"

"What are you guy's doing?"

"We're talking about cocks." Zero answered, he was still unaware that saying said word was a bad thing to be doing in a place full of children.

"What's a cock?"

"A cock is another word for chicken." Kain explained trying to both educate and explain the word to a six-year-old girl so that she could understand.

"Is that like some sort of nick name for it?" The little girl asked innocently.

Kain nodded. "Something like that, but it's only said when there's a chicken around. So don't use it, okay?"

The little girl nodded before scurrying off somewhere.

"Oh great just what we need, a little girl saying cock all day."

"Relax Kaname, Kain already told her not to say it. Plus there's no chicken around for her to say that too."

"Whatever…let's just get ourselves a table so that we can divide up the tokens amongst us."

Kaname led the group to the dining area and over to a booth toward the left of the stage. Kaname emptied the bucket full of coins that Zero had gotten them from the money Kaname gave him to get the tokens with while Kaname waited for his friends to arrive. The brunette expertly sorted the tokens out into six even amounts for each member of his group just in time for a female waiter to come to their table to get their orders.

Kaname ordered two large cheese pizzas, four cokes, a ginger ale for himself, and a glass of milk for Zero who insisted on having it. The waitress nodded and excused herself to put their orders in. After a minute or two the waitress returned with their drinks just as the curtains on stage opened to reveal the five animatronics figures. To Kaname the animatronics looked creepy as hell, especially the chicken girl with the black and purple dress. Kaname could see one of her animatronic eyes were broken, one eye was looking straight ahead while the other was stuck looking down. But the worst part of it all was having to sit through the awful songs the group sang.

Rubbing his throbbing temples, Kaname reached for his cup of ginger ale in hopes that the fizzy bubbles would distract him from the band on stage. From the corner of his eye Kaname watched a bunch of kids gather around the front of the stage, most of them was singing and dancing along with the robots songs. A few inches away from the singing kids was another smaller group of kids currently arguing over what kind of animals the animatronics were.

"Chuckey is a mouse." One little boy said before pointing to the only girl animatronic on stage. "And that one is Chuckey's girlfriend."

"No she isn't…" A little girl answered shaking her head.

"Yea she is."

"No she's not. Chuckey doesn't have a girlfriend."

"Says too."

"Says not." The little girl insisted.

"You're a girl you don't know anything, I even bet you don't know what animal she is?"

"I do."

"Then what is it?"

"She's a cock!"

Kaname and his friends found themselves spurting out a mouthful of their drinks when they heard the word cock slip through the little girl's mouth. The waitress from before had stopped dead in her tracks with her mouth forming an O shape and she wasn't the only one as there were adults nearby who heard it too. After a few seconds the boys collected themselves from the surprise before they hurriedly gathered up their tokens and dispersed into their own directions.

It was best to pretend that nothing happened.

Kain and Aidou headed for the arcade section, Shiki excused himself to go to the bathroom and Takuma stayed at their table to wait for the waitress to come back with a refill their drinks before joining Kain and Aidou. Kaname followed Zero as he excitedly made his way to the ball pit and tunnels room.

With wide eyes, Kaname looked upon the room with the different colored tubing hanging from the ceiling that twisted and turned in almost every direction. There were two swirling slides, one that led into the ball pit and another that led just outside of it. Kids were excitedly going in and out of the tubing, some even waved to their parents from the small windows. And when Kaname's eyes led him to one particular window above him, he could see someone waving at him and when he looked closer he realized that it was a goofy looking neko boy that Kaname hadn't realized left his side.

"Zero!" Kaname called after the boy. "What are you doing up there?"

"Playing duh." Zero responded as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Get down from there your going to break it."

Zero shook his head.

"Zero, I said get down."

Zero shook his head again.

"Don't make me come up there." Kaname warned Zero.

This time Zero stuck his tongue out at the other before venturing further into the tunnels.

"Why you…" Kaname huffed as he made his way toward the entrance of the tunnels.

It was a tight squeeze but somehow Kaname was able to make his way in. Kaname maneuvered through the twisting tunnels in search of his mischievous neko but the person in question was no where to be seen, it wasn't until Kaname looked through the same window Zero had looked through before that he spotted Zero on the ground looking up at him with a smile.

Kaname grumbled as he made his way to the slide that led into the ball pit. Moving his body from the think tar of colorful balls filled with kids was definitely not an enjoyable one, especially when there was annoying little boys who liked throwing balls at you. Kaname fought the urge to throw them back only because he had to reach Zero before he escaped.

By the time Kaname got to the place he last saw Zero the neko was gone. Kaname could feel the corner of his eyebrow twitch annoyingly, he was in no mood for Zero's tricks especially since they mostly always ended with a dreaded outcome. Suddenly there was a roar of applause coming from the arcade room. Following the sound Kaname came upon a crowd of both kids and adults that was gathered around a dance dance revolution game.

Standing a little to the left of the game was Shiki and Kain, the both were watching wide-eyed as Aidou danced along with the falling arrows on the screen. Kaname joined them and found that his own mouth dropped open when he saw Aidou expertly dancing on the colored arrows with refined maneuvered moves to Britney Spear's 'Oops I did it again' song. The eleven year old kid, who was Aidou's already third challenger, was no match to the blonde's fast pace.

The crowd cheered when Aidou was crowned winner once more. Aidou's blue eyes looked triumphantly toward the crowd daring anyone to be his next victim. Suddenly a voice a few feet from Kaname rose over the crowd.

"I'll challenge you."

Kaname could hear the gasps from the crowd at Aidou's new challenger walked over before stopping in front of Aidou. Kaname looked at his neko standing confidently in front of Aidou who didn't bat an eye as he stared right back at Zero.

"Are you my challenger?" Aidou asked and received a nod from Zero in return. "Then step on the platform so that we can begin.

"Not before you hear what I have to say."

Aidou raised an eyebrow at Zero's sudden request. "And what is that?"

"How about we make this game a little interesting?"

Aidou was suddenly at attention to what the other was going to suggest.

"I was thinking that it would be interesting if the ten of us from our group could battle each other in a knock out match where the two final participants will have a one on one match for a chance at having Kaname fulfill any one wish the victor wants."

"The ten of us?" Kaname repeated as he counted the number of people he knew was here and that was six.

"That's right, I forgot to mention that Takuma had invited Yuki and her friend along." Shiki answered when he noticed the confused look on Kaname's face.

"And it would seem she brought Rima and Ruka along too." Kain added when he saw the four girls make their way toward the front.

Kaname face palmed. "Oh great! Not only do I have to explain Zero's existence to my sister but I am also being used as a trophy for some dance contest. I bet this day can't get any worse."

But it did when a voice Kaname knew he would never forget came from amongst the crowd. Kaname watched as the crowd moved aside for the granny that made her way toward the game.

"Oh hell no!" Kaname protested immediately when he realized that the granny was none other than Rima's grandmother.

Kaname felt a shiver run down his spine when that all too familiar feeling of dread washed over him that indicated that something bad was no doubt about to happen and Kaname knew he would be the one to pay the prize for it.
