Claire's POV
I felt the sunlight hit my eyes from the morning sunlight. I yawned and grabbed my phone from the side of the table. It was 8:46, no big deal – the wedding wasn't until 14:30.
I stretched my arms and rubbed my eyes – I wasn't a fucking morning person, never have been, never will be. I grabbed my dressing gown from the side and walked out my room, no one else was awake yet, I walked down the staircase and into the bright kitchen. Thank god the sky was clear; Monica's wedding is taking place outside.
I looked at the house phone on the counter. There was two voicemails – the first one was from the hair stylist and the second was the florist.
"hey Claire, it's Jessica, I have some bad news, mum's sick so had to fly to Manhattan early this morning, tell Monica I wish her the best, I'm sending one of my other stylists over, she should be round about 1 o'clock. If you have any troubles call me. Bye"
Oh shit, how could that happen, I don't even want to know what the florist is gonna say.
"Hey Mon, flowers should be over at 12, have a great day – Tina"
At least there's nothing wrong with the flowers. I sighed and looked in the cupboard, I think English breakfast with pancakes and French toast will do the trick. I had been cooking for about fifteen minutes when Louise walked into the kitchen.
"Claire, let me do the cooking, go wake the others up." She beamed at me and took my place, I let the middle aged woman take over and began to walk upstairs slowly and then up the other flight of stairs. Honestly the place was massive. I opened the first guest room on that floor where Poppy and Mae were sleeping.
I walked over and opened the massive curtains – streams of light began to flicker into the room. Mae opened her eyes then shut them instantly; I walked over to Poppy's bed and woke her up. Within a minute she was out of her bed.
"Morning Claire." She smiled at me and jumped onto her sister's bed trying to wake her up. I giggled at her excitement and watched as Mae covered her face with the blanket.
"Come on Poppy, let's go wake up Monica and Elle, then we'll have breakfast?" I said to her. She nodded in anticipation and grabbed my hand. We walked back down to the second floor and into Elle's room; she was already awake but typing on her laptop.
"Elle! Elle! Come on, we have to wake up Monica!" Poppy grinned and ran out the room; I shook my head whilst Elle stood up.
"Believe me, she's excited every day." Elle chuckled and walked out the room. Poppy was already standing by Monica's room. She knocked on the door and Monica walked out.
"good morning, my lil' princess" Monica said in a soft tone and picked Poppy up and started twirling her around. Poppy giggled in delight and Monica placed her back on her own feet.
"Breakfast!" Louisa yelled from the kitchen as we all made our way downstairs. I could smell the food that was sitting on the table. Mae was already sitting down drinking orange juice.
I and Monica walked into the kitchen where Louisa walked out and into the other room. I poured two mugs of coffee and handed one to Monica. "Bad news, Jessica had to fly to New York because of her mother so she's sent a different stylist for 1 'clock." I said and drank the coffee.
"That's fine; along I get to see her when I'm back from the honeymoon." Monica smiled at me. I don't think anything would be able to ruin today.
4 hours later...
The flowers and the stylist had come over and we were all dressed and ready to go. The dresses were beautiful, they were strapless and came to mid-thigh but not in a revealing way, they were a very light baby pink. Poppy was the flower girl, she had daisy's embedded in her thick blonde hair and wore a white dress.
But Monica looked more beautiful than all of us; she had a thin, silk dress which was pure white whit the complete back showing. Her hair was pulled into a large bun which braids around it. She also had a diamond hair piece on the side of her bun. I knew she didn't want to overdo the bridal look as it was only a small ceremony however the reception was going to be big.
I watched as the various Bentley's pulled up outside. The pure white convertible was for Monica and her dad. Whilst the others were for us lot. Richard, his mother and Louisa got in one where me, Elle, Mae and Poppy got in the other. The cars started to drive off and we were soon at the blossom fields.
Even though we were in Texas, green fields still existed that were privately owned. I could see everyone in their seats, waiting for it to begin.
I took the small bouquet of white roses and stood between Mae and Elle whilst Poppy began throwing petals onto the ground and skipping to the front. Music started to play and us three walked down the aisle with Monica following behind. We stood at the side as Monica kissed her father goodbye. I winked at Rob and stuck my thumbs up which caused some people to laugh, he shook his head and grabbed Monica's hand.
After the passing of blessings and other words the important questions came. The minister proceeded:
"Robert Jones, do you take Monica Elizabeth Morrell to be your lawful wedded wife, will you care for her, respect her and love her until death do you part?"
"I do" he replied smiling and placing the ring on her finger.
"And Monica Elizabeth Morrell, do you take Robert Jones to be your lawful wedded husband, will you care for him, respect him and love him until death do you part?"
"I do" she said and placed the ring on his finger.
"I know pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." The minister said and everyone stood up and clapped. I couldn't believe it; my best friends were finally married with a baby on the way. They were probably going to be the happiest people I know.
Oh cute x
Anyway sorry if that was cheesy, I'm never ever used to writing about weddings. I'll do the reception next chapter and something bad might happen...
Anyway once again thank you to everyone who reviews and reads the story! xxxx
