The evening at Penny and Leonard's finally had come to an end as they had to push Amy and Sheldon across the hall into their own home. Afterwards Penny fed Lanie, as Leonard put his tucked his son in for the night. Then they were finally able to go to bed. The moment Leonard's head hit the pillow, he was out like a light, but Penny couldn't seem to rest. She turned right, she turn left, she turned on her stomach, she even tried sleeping like Sheldon, but sleep wouldn't come to her. Finally, after a few hours she decided to make herself a cup of tea, to wait for Lanie to get up for her midnight feeding. With fifteen minutes to kill, Penny decided to play one of those dumb phone games Leonard got her addicted too. However when she picked up her phone, Penny noticed she had one new message from Howard Wolowitz.

Surprise! We're having this baby tonight! Keep you all updated!

Penny scrambled into the bedroom, jumping on Leonard, shaking him awake.

"What? What" a startled Leonard's eye sprung open.

"Bernadette and Howard are having the baby!" she squealed.

"That's great! It's a bit early thought. What a surprise!" Leonard chuckled, "Now, let's go back to sleep."

"How do you expect me to sleep? I'm too excited!" Penny sat up and placed her had on her hips, still straddling Leonard.

"Penny, they'll call us when they want visitors, remember, they just want it to be the two of them," he shook his head, "No, please try to go to bed!"

"Just with all this extra energy, I highly doubt I can sleep," Penny leaned down to meet Leonard's lips kissing them softly, "I just don't know what to do…"

"I've got an idea," Leonard winked, gripping his wife's waist. They began a passionate kiss until a loud buzzing echoed in the other room.

"It's probably them!" Penny shirked rolling off her husband and back into the living room.

"I just can't win," Leonard sighed, staring blankly at the ceiling.

"It wasn't them!" Penny bounded back into the room, grabbing her robe, "It was Amy, we're all going over to her place to wait for the call. Don't worry I'm taking the kids. You go get some sleep."

Leonard looked towards his wife as she ran out of the room.

"Hold on," He grabbed his own robe, "I can't sleep now, I'm coming with you!

In the apartment across the hall, an impromptu pajama party broke out. Together, the friends cat all anticipating the arrival of the baby Wolowitz.

"It's happening!" Amy squealed.

"I know" Raj clapped his hands in amusement.

"I can't wait until she's actually here!" Penny jumped into their conversation.

"He'll!" Raj corrected, "Penny, stop lying to yourself, it's going to be a boy!"

"Oh ya, wanna bet!" she turned to him, with a touch of sass.

"Actually, yes I do," Raj smiled smugly, "I bet you a hundred dollars that the baby will be a boy. Do we have a deal?" Penny squinted her eyes and nodded in agreement, but before they could shake on the wager, Amy interrupted, with a look of disapproval.

"Guys, if we are going to bet, I want in!"

In the next few minutes, after Penny and Raj both pleaded their cases, the friends decided to pick sides. Due to family history and scientific variables everyone went against Penny and Team Girl, even her bestie who stuck by her until the last minute. However, Penny knew it in her gut, it was a girl. A few hours after the betting, the party became a bit boring. The children were already asleep and everyone else was beginning to fall asleep, everyone but Penny.

"What is taking her so long!?" Penny groaned pacing behind the couch.

"Penny," Layla leaned her head back in exasperation, "Not all of us are lucky enough to have an amazing birth canal and a rapidly dilating uterus!"

"To intrude on your conversation," Sheldon began, "This is Howard's baby we are talking about, and if their offspring is as maternally attached as he is, we may be waiting days, weeks even!"

"I just know something isn't right" Penny scolded.

"Honey, calm down!" Leonard pulled her back to her seat, "The baby will get here, when it gets here! Until then sleep!"

The rest of the friends passed out on various pieces of furniture, but Penny stayed awake a bit longer, staring at her phone, watching the minutes tick by, until exhaustion got the best of her and fell asleep.

It was day light when Rajesh Koothrappali first opened his eyes. He was glad Howard and Bernadette asked them all to stay at home. Hospital chairs were severely uncomfortable, not that the one he was currently resting in was much better, but never the less, more comfortable. It was also easier keeping the kids at home, and not in a germy hospital room. Raj grabbed the phone to check the time and noticed his email flashing. It was from Howard!

"GUYS!" Raj yelled, startling everyone awake!

"Gah, what?" Penny shouted back.

"I just got an email from Howard!" He looked to his friends as they went from sleepy to attentive in the matter of minutes, waiting for him to read, which made him incredibly nervous!

"Oh just read it!" Amy screamed in excitement.

"Dear Friends and Family," Raj began clearing his throat, "We are pleased to announce that our little bundle of joy has arrived. After eight hours of labor and several complications, with both mom and baby, we are relieved that everyone is now doing perfectly fine. After some uncertainty with mommy's health, she pulled through and is now sleeping peacefully cradling our little one, not giving daddy a turn.

At three fifteen this morning our little girl entered the world, (so, Penny you were right)," the blonde jumped off the couch with a laugh! Raj rolled his eyes and continued reading, "but, she didn't take her first breath until she had already reached the NICU. Now, our Little Princess is fight, a fighter, breathing on her own. She also weighs a whapping four pounds five ounces, and is an astounding fifteen inches long. As you can already see, she already taking after both of her parents.

We are asking that everyone please wait to make their visits until after three, so mommy and baby can continue to rest. Hopefully, daddy can finally get some too, he's had a rough night worrying about his favorite little ladies. Thank you all for your love and support, we can wait for you to meet our sweet baby girl.

Love, Howard, Bernadette, and Baby Girl"

"What! No name?" Layla squealed!

"Howard!" Penny groaned, "Your killing us! What time is it! I have to meet her!"

"7:30" Sheldon exited his bedroom with a yawn, as Penny flopped her head back on the couch.

"It's ok honey, it'll be three soon enough," Leonard chuckled.

"I wonder what happened," Amy began, "It sounds like they almost lost both of them!"

"All and all," Raj sighed, "I'm just glad everyone is alright!"

The friends paused, all thinking about the seriousness of the situation. Penny took out her phone and read over the message. She looked around the room it seemed so empty without Howard and Bernadette in their normal spots, but soon it would be full again. Only this time they would have another little person to fill all of their lives with joy.
