Everything seemed so foggy in Bernadette's head. It was like nothing and everything seemed to make sense all at the same time, in such an indescribable way. Speaking of ways, she thought, which way was up, and which was down, where was she? Bernie felt as if she were floating in a calm sea, but at the same time she knew nothing was calm about her current situation. Too bad she couldn't even remember why everything wasn't calm in the first place. The world around her seemed incredibly warm and bright. What was happening? Had she been here before? Then, like a projector in a movie theater, an image of Howard flashed upon the screen of her mind. Then the projected Howard came to life, he reached his hand towards hers, and as she tried to grab it, hers slipped right through. Bernadette began to panic, Howard did too, as they shared a mutual feeling of concern. He looked to her, then to another woman carrying a bundled baby in her arms, walking the opposite direction. Bernie knew in her gut that the sweet little bundle of blankets was her baby, her very own precious, little girl. She started running towards her sweet baby but, her feet felt slow as she chased the nurse down a fading tunnel. Bernadette couldn't catch up, and soon the whole world went black, including the vision of Howie. Bernadette stopped, everything now seemed to be at normal speed, in this cold, dark, lonely, emptiness. She laid down to rest, that's all she felt she was able to do. However, after what seemed like an eternity, Bernadette felt a warmth on her arm, it was like sunshine. She knew this too, was her Howie.

Although her eyelids felt extremely heavy, she mustered up all of her strength to open them, to this new dimly lit, fuzzy, universe. Bernadette turned her head, oh ok, everything was heavy in this world! She directed her still fuzzy vision to the foot of the bed, to reveal a distraught Howard. He sat in a chair, hold her hand between both of his, head down, mumbling something under his breath.

"Howie…" Bernadette whispered, her voice felt just as weak as her body.

"Bernie," he clambered to his feet, revealing his tear stained face. Howard knelt by her head, running his finger down her cheek, "Oh my God, Bernie," fresh, hot tears fell from his eyes, and on to the hand he still held tightly in his grasp, "I thought…I thought I was going to lose you. I mean the doctors had already lost you twice and you weren't waking…"

"You can't get rid of me that easily," she interrupted with a quiet giggle.

A sigh escaped, as Howard pressed his lips against Bernadette's, "That is the best new I have heard since I walked back in here." He moved his hand from her cheeks to his pocket, grabbing her glasses, "These might help a bit," Howard chuckled as he placed the tiny pink frames on her face. A smiled played on Bernadette's face finally gaining full vision of the "real" world around her, but it soon vanished. There was still an emptiness, a lack of warmth, a lack of love, a lack of her sweet baby girl.

"Howard, where's our daughter? Please tell me everything is alright with our daughter!" Bernadette sat up in bed panicked, giving herself a head rush.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down there Momma" Howard grabbed her by the arms, in fear that she'd faint, and laid her back against the pillows, "You practically died twice! You can't just sit up like that, not right now!"

"I don't care if I died thirty million times, I'd do it all over again for her! Where is she? Is she alright?" Bernadette's new found maternal strength kicking in.

"Easy there," Howard chuckled, calming her down, "She's fine, better than fine actually, she's perfect. Our daughter is unbelievably perfect! No complications, just tiny like us, and so, so, so, amazingly beautiful!"

"Really?" Bernadette sighed, tears coming to her eyes.

"Really," Her husband smiled back kissing her forehead, "Do you think you're strong enough to hold her?"

"Ya, I do," Bernie nodded.

Howard pressed the call button and told the nurse that they were ready for them to bring the baby back in to the room. Moments after she left, a different nurse arrived holding the tiny pink bundle. Howard walked towards her, carefully taking the baby in to his arms, smiling at her tiny face. Bernadette watched as her husband walked towards her, as a nervousness set in. This was it, this was really it. Could she do this? Was she ready? She had to be ready, she couldn't turn back now!

"Your right Mr. Wolowitz, she looks just like your wife," the nurse broke Bernadette's racing thoughts, before turning to her, "She's been waiting a long time to meet her Mommy!"

"And Mommy, has been waiting a long time to meet you!" Howard cooed, giving the infant in his arms a little Eskimo kiss, "You ready?" he asked sensing her nerves.

"Yes," Bernadette nodded confidently, as Howard placed their most precious gift in her arms.

Bernadette felt the most intense sense of warmth as she held her daughter for the first time. She overwhelmed by the little person in her grasp. Howard was right, she was perfect, but he failed to mention that she was more than beautiful, their baby was gorgeous. The nurse and Howard both thought the little girl looked like her, but that was impossible, this tiny baby was far too beautiful to even be considered human, let alone a copy of her mother. Bernadette studied her daughter face, and much to her surprise, her daughter studied her mother's as well. For the first time their blue eyes met and the connection was complete. It was there, the pain was gone, the hurt was gone, the doubt, the fear, the nervousness, all gone, but the love, the love was present and stronger than ever. Bernadette had loved before, she loved her family, her friends, her job, and especially Howard, but this love was different and more powerful than anything she had ever felt. The new mother thought she knew love, but no, if there were ever a moment for her heart to burst from the compassion it held, it would have been right in that very moment. Howard leaned over and wiped the tears coming from her eyes, funny, she didn't even know she was crying. Bernadette pressed her lips to her baby's forehead as she slowly lulled the little girl to sleep.

"Well, now that mommy's awake, do we have a name for this sweet girl?" the nurse asked.

The couple looked to each other, and replied in unison, "No…"

"We uhh, only have a boy's name picked" Howard stated.

"Oh, thought you were having a little guy?" the nurse laughed.

"No," Bernadette sighed with a giggle, "We're just that indecisive!"

"Well, you were expecting to have another month to figure it out," the nurse began, "I'll just leave it as Baby Girl Wolowitz for now."

"No," Howard shook his head, "Baby Girl Rostenkowski-Wolowitz."

"But Howie," Bernadette's eyes widened in shock.

"But, nothing!" he smiled looking in to her eyes, "After what you went through to bring her in to this world, it would be crazy for me to deny you this! She's all you, so her last name should be too."

"Thank you," Bernie's eyes watered again.

"Why are you thanking me? You did all the hard work!" he gingery kissed her forehead and then looked down at his baby girl, "So what are we going to name our little princess?"

"I've got an idea," Bernadette replied leaning over to return his kiss.
