I do not own Harry potter nor do I own any of the characters with the exception of Nadia (stress the first a Naah-dia), her parents, Kyro (pronounced Kii like a long 'I' and roh) and a few others to come in future chapters which will be listed then.

The story is really coming together and i have a good amount of points to add. I know i said that i would update weekly but i realized that the prologue didn't give you much to go off of so here is chapter one before my week deadline =D enjoy.

Chapter1

I dismissed the alarm on my phone and sat up groggily and took time to sit for a bit before I made any attempt to get up. After I'd righted myself I made my way over to my bathroom to get the day started.

I blasted myself with a few seconds of cold water to get my blood pumping before turning the temperature down and showering at snail pace. After my shower I quickly brushed my teeth and got ready. This part seemed to always be rushed because I was inhumanly slow prior to and during my shower.

I quickly undid the two big braids I almost always slept in. They were an attempt to keep my hair tamed . Over the years I'd learned what my hair liked and what it didnt.

After I'd finished my hair, I took a good look at my face in the mirror. Brown eyes were reflected back at me set in a heart-shaped face and plump deep rosy pink lips. I've always thought of myself as beautiful with my caramel skin tone and my 5 foot 3 frame. I was not slim nor was I considered chubby. I had a tiny waist, c-cups, and rounded hips and bottom, "the perfect hour glass" my mother would say. My wild curly dark brown hair flowed a beyond my shoulders and was a beautiful mixture of waves, curls, coils and spirals.

I opted for a floral printed blouse, and a royal blue peplum skirt paired with a pair of black healed mary janes and hurried down the stairs for breakfast.

My mother and father were having coffee on my kitchen island. "Nadia darling, you do realize you have about ten minutes to get to work right?" My mother asked barely looking up from her paper.

She was wearing a houndstooth shift dress that complimented her figue well. She looked great for her age of 48. My mother was of a light complexion, almost pale but her mixed heritage was easily discernible. My mother's mother was from Spain and was very pale, and my mother's father was a straight up mocha man from the Caribbean, The Dominican Republic to be exact. My mother was born and raised in Spain.

My mothers' hair was of a wavy texture and flowed to the small of her back. Which was quite the contrast to my father sitting next to her,who unlike my mother was very dark.

He was about the same complexion of my mothers' father,a mocha tone. Which explained my mocha infused with cream complexion. He had coarse hair that was styled in fine dreads that fell a little below the small of his back. My father was born in Spain, his mother was also from Spain and his father was from England.

"Sorry, time got away from me, but I'm sure I can fit in a quick bowl of cereal" I repled reaching for a bowl from the cabinet. The fireplace came to life.

"Little cousin where are you?" A voice floated in loudly from the living room. Yes, I was the younger of the us both, and she didnt let me forget. She was 24 almost 25 and I, 19 almost 20.

"Are you busy today or do you have time to spare?" The voice said closer

"In the kitchen, and no I have a meeting this morning" I replied in a loud voice.

"Hermione, do you need someone to accompany you somewhere?" my mother asked as Hermione entered.

"Good morning, auntie Jenny, Uncle Damien." She smiled " Yeah I need some girl company, I need to go shopping for a few things, are you free then?" She looked hopeful.

"Sure, I was thinking of going shopping myself today anyway." My mother replied. I'd wasted enough time standing here a nature bar, and a bottle of water would have to do the trick today. I definitely needed to go shopping.

I said my goodbyes and disappeared. I'd never liked the feeling of apperation to me it was somewhat akin to the feeling you get when you fall or jump off of something in your dreams. I found a way around it being a maker and all. My mother described it as materialize and disappear. My way around apperation was like smoke appearing to make a solid form and smoke dispersing. No popping sound, no uncomfortable feeling, but I had to knowwhere I was going.

The work meeting passed just fine. Thank God. I decided to walk some of the way home seeing as I didn't drive that morning. My house was a far ways from work. There was no way I'd actually walk home, but it was nice to stretch my legs a bit after all the sitting down I did today.

I walked for about a half hour before I came upon a park called the mystic botanical gardens. There was a variety of flowers trees and plants that drew me on.

There were swings connected to the jungle gym, pets and their owners, and kids running around playing, and laughing.

I thought back to my childhood, it was a very happy one though I did not play as much as a kid should have, it was mostly reading, trying to learn different languages on my own, which did not go that well mind you, seeing as the only other language I know other than English is Spanish and that is because both my parents spoke it fluently..

I made my way onto one of the swings and began to move slowly back and forth, I closed my eyes with a smile to myself as the wind blew through my hair.

"Aren't you too old for swings?" a childs voice asked me.

I opened my eyes. A child about four or five stood before me, looking a bit confused. He was very handsome; with a light tan complexion, brown almond shaped eyes, a chiseled face, and black hair.

"You can never be too old for swings" I smiled sweetly.

"Are you sure? Daphneen says that adults shouldn't never play never ever. She tells my daddy that all the time when he plays with me" he said with a frown marring his adorable face. I smiled at his lingo and his cute cheeks.

"I'm positive" I replied "everyone should play sometimes".

"Do you like to play?" he asks me looking nervous. I supposed from the fear of rejection.

"Of course I do" I replied. I wanted to pacify him and let him know he had no need for those feelings.

"I have toys if you want to play with them." He said finding his shoes very interesting.

"Of course I would" I smiled enthusiastically. He returned the sentiment as he grabbed my hand and led me over to a bench next to the swing set where a man was sitting.

My heart sped up significantly. He was breathtakingly handsome. His face looked as though it has been carved by Greek sculptors. A strong jaw line, almond shaped eyes and full dark lips, and a beautiful mocha complexion. The epitome of handsome. His eyes immediately found us with a raised brow as we approached. I started to regret my decision. This must be his father.

"Kyro, you know better than to molest other people" he said in a deep velvety voice when we arrived at the bench.

"I wasn't 'alestin people daddy, this isn't people. This is my friend." he said as he lookedup at me and whispered loudly "Whats your name?"

"Nadia" I whisper back at the same level forcing back a giggle.

"Daddy, Nadia was just going to play toys with me"

His father eyes were then on me "You really don't have to you know"

I smiled shyly"I Know I don't." I replied quietly forcing down a blush. He assessed me quietly for a few seconds and then nodded his assent.

Kyro had all sorts of toys, but his favourite was a blue and green stuffed phoenix named azzan.

We played pretend for about an hour while his father watched us. I could tell that he did not have manny friends and that he was very happy for the company.

"Fly azzan, fly!" Kyro squealed at the top of his lungs giggling. The phoenix begins to levitate.

I knew I wasn't the one to do it. Kyro had a shocked look on his face as he looked between me and his father. I followed his gaze to his father who I noticed removed his wand from his pocket while looking around for witnesses. Ahhh, so it must have been Kyro who had a bout of accidental magic.

I realized then when his father stood and approached that he probably intended to use his wand on me.

I waved my hand in a dismissal "Don't worry I'm a witch" I said simply.

He paused, with a conflicting look on his face as he looked me up and down. As if there was a way to tell by just looks..

"You are?" he asked and I nodded. He looked relieved

"Daddy can we get some ice cream?" Kyro changed the subject, obviously completely over the tension that occurred just moments ago.

"Yes" his father replied with his eyes still on me "would you like some?" he asked.

"No thank you" I replied deciding that I'd overstayed my welcome in their little group.

"I insist" he immediately replied while his son Kyro gave a hopeful look. It was the boy who did me in. I didn't stand a chance.

Kyros father scooped him up and placed a hand on the small of my back causing me to jump.

"Sorry." He said with a sly grin as he eased the pressure of his hand and guided us behind an oak tree before wherehe quickly apperated.

I stumbled as we appeared in a deserted alley and gasped for the breath I'd barely taken before. He looked sheepish. "Sorry, I should have warned you. You're not fond of sidelong?"

"I'm not fond of apperation in general" I replied trying to hold down my vomit as he gave me a peculiar look.

We came upon a dingy, dilapidated looking building. I was a bit hesitant and on guard but I still followed still.

We entered a pub, which added to my apprehensive feelings. Inside the pub he tapped his wand in a pattern against a brick wall. The wall gave way. I jumped, startled, and found myself hidden behind the man.

I peeked around his shoulder, and noticed that the brick wall formed itself into a doorway. I felt silly. With one look up I knew the man was wondering what was wrong with me. I didn't mean to hide behind him, but I didn't expect the wall to do that.

"I thought you said you were a witch" he said flatly.

"I am" I replied a bit insulted, straightening up and backing away from him.

"Then why do you look so surprised? It's only Diagon alley."

"I haven't been here before" I replied. I had to wonder if I'd grown a second head by the look I received. I stepped through the opening, feigning bravery to get his attention off of me.

The streets were crowded and buzzing with chatter. I gasped as I took in all the stores and vendors selling on the street and children skipping over the cobble stones with concerned parents chasing after them. There were; witches, wizards, hags, elves, savory and unsavory looking charachters.

Sure I'd heard of Diagon alley from my father and Hermione, but I'd never actually been. The descriptions did it no justice. All the potions supplies that were brought home were all courtesy of my dad. All the books were either from; by dad, my aunt, Hermione, and her friends some of which were my friends...sort-of.

"How did you get your school supplies then?"

"I was home schooled"

"Home schooled?"

"Yes, it's when someone is taught at home by-" but I was cut off.

He chuckled "I know what it means, but why not just go to school?" he asked as we entered an ice cream parlor. There were many different odd flavours and toppings I noticed.

"Because it's a tradition in my mother's family to be taught magic at home" I replied but didnt elaborate not wanting to give away too much. He looked thoughtful. I got a vanilla cone with strawberry topping, Kyro got a double chocolate fudge cone, and his father gets a cup of chocolate ice cream. I realized I didn't know his name. I waited until we are seated before asking. "What's your name?"

"Blaise" Peculiar name, I like it. I thought. "Nadia right?" I nodded.

"My name is Kyro Kaelum Zabini" Kyro said with a smile.

"Zabini? Well that's a cool last name" I smiled.

"It sure is" he grinned "what's yours? Is it cool too?"

"No, I'm afraid mine isn't as cool as yours. Its Granger." I replied as I faked a frown.

"It's a nice name" he said, an attempt to placate me. "Whats your middle name?"

"Thank you and it's Isabelle"

"I like that name" he smiled sweetly.

"Granger?" Blaise asked with a peculiar look on his face.

"Yes" he gave me a funny look but didn't comment. Kyro began to tell me about all the cool facts that he knew about Phoenixes. I listened intently.

"Do you have any children?" Blaise asked out of the blue.

"No, Why do you ask?"

"Because you interact so well with him, no younger siblings?" I was suprised to say the least...I'd never really thought of it.

I shook my head. "I love kids though" he smiled at my words.

"You are not from here are you? Your accent…Its not British?" I laughed.

"Not exactly. I'm actually from Spain."

"So Nadia what do you do? Do you work, or stay at home?"

"I work actually, I run both of my family businesses." This immediately seemed to pique his interest, we discussed my job as well as his job at the ministry as the head of the Department of magical accidents and catastrophes.

"Daddy I'm tired" Kyro managed to mumble out over a big yawn.

"You ready to go then buddy?" Kyro nodded in response."Can I get two stories tonight?" Blaise nodded.

"Excuse me Mr. Zabini?" She says in question and he nods. A woman approached us.

"A letter came with a ministry owl, they aren't allowed inside, so I hope you don't mind that I intercepted it." She said

"Not at all" he replied giving her a million watt smile, she looked dazed.

He opened the letter and began to read. A frown made it's way to his plump lips. "I have to get to work quickly, someone thinks it's funny make muggle shower curtains suffocate them and their couches attempt to eat them...they'll need to be obliviated"

"Daddy, you have to leave again?" Kyro says with a pout, then he crossed his arms "I don't wanna stay with Daphneen" he spat defiantly.

"Sorry buddy but you'll have to stay with Daphne tonight, I promise I'll make it up to you. Okay?" Kyro's lower lip began to quiver and his eyes began to water and my heart hurt a little.

"Uh, I can watch him if you like" his father looked surprised and very hesitant at my offer.

"I'm sorry Nadia but I don't know you that well" he replied apologetically.

"Don't apologize, I completely understand."

"Daddy pleaseeeeeeeeeeee. I don't wanna stay with Daphneen, I like Nadia, I'll eat my begetables for a week I promise." He gave his father the puppy dog look. The same he used on me to get me to go with them to this ice cream parlor. His father still looked hesitant. "Okay, okay, I'll eat my begetables for two weeks"

I laughed at his negotiation tactics "Okay how about I watch him in a place that you pick out and you can even put a tracking charm on him, I promise he will be absolutely safe in my care" I held up my hand in the scouts honor sign but he looked confused at the muggle sign. He was quiet for a while, I could tell that he was thinking it over.

He nods.

"Okay you can watch him at the Manor I'll be home by 9 I think, 9:30 the latest. Please have him in bed by 8:30 I'll have an elf bring some food for you."

"Thank you so much for doing this" he said as he looked at his watch "I need to go"

"No problem"I could do a lot of things for you. I stopped myself right there in that thought.

He smiled as he scooped Kyro up, and held out a hand to me. The uncomfortable feeling of apperation swallowed me again.
