"Owen...I don't think I am good enough for you. You should find somebody elese, who is more suitable for you." Cristina said, faintly. "Cristina..." "The miscarriage happened twice in my life, that means it might happen again in the future. You told me you want to build the family with some kids, but I don't think I can make your dreams come true. I'm sorry, Owen...I am useless." Cristina started crying, again. Owen held her whole body. "Cristina, it doesn't matter. All I need is you. You are love of my life. Please...please marry me." "Owen..." "All you have to do is say yes."
Cristina looked up his face. Her painful red eyes were seeing his eyes...his blue, benevolent eyes... "I look terrible, don't I?" She smiled, teasingly. "Never, you are beautiful, always." He was remaining serious. His words made a tear run down on her cheek. He silently wiped it."Owen, yes." "Cristina, you mean..." "Yes, I am going to marry you." "Cristina, I love you." He held her more tightly.
It seemed he was reassured. On the contrary, she was a little confused. Too many things took place in a short span, then she couldn't regard her correct. She was so dazed that couldn't express her feelings properly. "It took us too much time to reunite. I will never let you go again, ever. I want to spend the rest of my life on filling in a blank, alright?" He whispered in her ears. His deep, sedate voice made her eyes close.
"Reunion? No way!" "How come you never attend that?" "Because I had no friend, except you!" One day, Mr. and Mrs. Hunt were discussing whether they should go to the high school reunion or not. "You know what? I went to the reunion every five years in order to see you, or at least to get a clue of how you had been doing, however, you never show up." "But you enjoyed it, anyways, I remember how sociable you were. There must be so many people who were happy to see you." Cristina said, sarcastically.
"Well, actually, no...every time they as asked me if I got married or had a family, and the answer was no...so, this time, I wanna show them my wife." Cristina was still reluctant, but she decided to attend this time because she felt a little bit bad for him...never imagined somebody had researched her...
"Hi Owen!" When Cristina and Owen arrived at the party room, one woman approached to them. Cristina was unsettled because that was the woman whom Owen took to the prom, twenty years ago. "Hey." He smiled to her. Seemingly, she didn't notice who Cristina was. Owen started talking. "You know what? I got married, not a long ago, eventually." "Did you? No way!"
"This is my wife, Cristina." "Hi Cristina, nice to meet you." She smiled and shook the hand of Cristina. "Well, actually, we met before. I also went to the same high school with you two. I 'm Cristina Yang." Cristina introduced herself. But apparently, she didn't remember her. "We went to the same high school, right, sorry Cristina, but Congratulations! You captured such a nice guuy!" Then she left.
"See? There's nothing to afraid of." "Well, yeah, but I feel kinda weird, though." Cristina still looked nervous. "Come on, let's talk to other people." Owen held her hand and moved forward. They saw many familiar people...Cristina saw some of Owen's ex-girlfriends like Cheryl and Megan. The girls in Cristina's memory were young, pretty and confident, but this was twenty years later...they were ordinary middle-aged women.
What was more, all of them blessed for Cristina and Owen when they got to know these two just got married. "Now you feel better, right ?" Owen asked Cristina. "Yes, better. I didn't know attending the reunion as your wife is much better than going to prom as your girlfriend." "So, you are saying you are happy?" "Yes, very much." They smiled and kissed.
Forty years later, Cristina was standing in front of the windows in the house. Owen gently hugged her from behind. Both of them became seventy seven years old. They were still together. "I think it's almost time." When Cristina saw the clock on the wall, Owen saw one car stopped at their house, through the windows. Then one small boy held by a woman came out from the car. He noticed Cristina and Owen seeing him.
"Hi Grandma, Grandpa!" He was smiling. Then the door was opened and a handsome and tall man came into the house. "Hey, Mom, Dad, how have you been?" "Hey Theo, Come in." Cristina and Owen welcomed their son's family.
After they got married, they got over the miscarriage, then got a boy, named Theo. And then Theo also married and got a son. "Hi baby, what is your name? You grow up enough to say your name." Cristina talked to her grandson who was in his mother's arms. "My name is...Se ba s tia n." "Well done! And how old are you?" "I am four." "No, not yet. You are three years old now." Everybody laughed. Sixty years ago, Cristina never imagined she would have such a heartworming moment. Cristina glimpsed Owen. He looked happy, surrounded by his son, daughter in law and grandson. Cristina was really happy to see that Owen was happy. She experienced various things, sometimes she was hurt, but she felt blessed because everything was probably connected to this moment.
"I love you." Cristina said. "I love you, too!" Sebastian shouted, that made everybody laugh, again.
