A/n: oh my goodness I am so sorry for the really late update. I was supposed to update this for my friend's birthday but I forgot and now feel like a terrible person :( To that person: I am so sorry please forgive me! Anyway um, this chapter did not come out like I planned.:( *rips out hair* it's really short and doesn't flow well in my opinion but it's late already and I really don't need the stress of trying to make it perfect right now. I might edit it later.
Merrida: oh would ye 'urry up already?!
Me: sorry Mer
Merrida: don't call me that!
Hiccup: what's wrong with Mer?
Merrida: I just don't like it
Rapunzel: Awwwwww but it's cute!
Jack:*snickers* that may be why she doesn't like it Punzie
Merrida: *growls* just get on with the story will ye?!
Hiccup: She owns nothing you recognize
Cassandra
I took small, measured steps towards the group. I knew they were looking at me, even though I couldn't see them. Every step I took sent a pulse through the ground, giving me a perfect picture of what was in front of me. I could feel them all tense and reach for their weapons. I smiled and raised my hand.
"I mean no harm. I am Cassandra."
They all relaxed, except for Merrida who still trained her bow on me. Hiccup placed a hand on her arm and pulled himself up. Merrida relaxed her bow and looked at him, startled.
"What did you mean ours is a war to be fought in love?" He asked.
"Pitch is the embodiment of fear is he not? Anger is simply fear turned inward. If the reason you are fighting is to get revenge, you will lose. And I'm sure you are aware of what would happen were you to lose. You all joined this quest to protect that which you love. Merrida, you joined to protect your family. Hiccup wishes to protect Astrid and his father. Jack and Rapunzel joined to protect each other. Arieda wants to help her father. And Appalo wants to protect Arieda." My head seared as a vision came to me. "An enemy turned to friend. A final choice to make. Beware the green monster.I shuddered and fell to the ground. Appalo raced to help me up.
"How do you know all of that?" He asked.
"She's a seer." Arieda spat.
"Aren't seers blind?" Merrida asked.
"I am blind. I send out a pulse that projects every movement but I've never seen color. " I answered.
"Never seen color?" Rapunzel had rejoined the group. I shook my head. Jack looked at her and I could tell that he was feeling bad.
"Rapunzel. Do not blame Jack. He was simply doing what he believed was best for you. Manny in all his wisdom does not fully understand people. Forgive them both even if they acted as complete idiots." I smiled and she giggled.
"Hey!" Everyone in the party laughed at Jack's complaint.
"And to be perfectly honest, I think Jack would rather kill himself than hurt you. Remember that." I whispered in her ear. She flushed
"What did she say?" Jack asked suspiciously. Rapunzel flushed deeper and stammered out a negative. I smiled, but it quickly slid from my face. I grabbed her hands and she whirled about to look at me.
"Rapunzel I need you to listen to me. Eugene is gone. Alright? He is not coming back and there is nothing Jack or anyone else can do to bring him back. Your friends need you to accept that. Truly accept it in your heart because if you fight these people with a need to avenge him, you will watch every single one of them die before you. And when one door closes, another one opens. You need to close that door. Can you do that?"
She nodded and closed her eyes. She took a deep breath and reopened her eyes. I released her hands and started to back away. But Rapunzel grabbed them again and beckoned to the others. Soon they formed a circle around me. I closed my eyes, and a powerful sensation surged through me. An image formed in my mind. A rose. Tears started down my cheeks as each of them brought something new to the picture. In color, covered in ice, bright bold edges, so realistic with light bouncing off. Then something even more amazing happened. The image was pulled from my head and as I opened my eyes, Hiccup placed something in my hand. A locket with the rose on the front. On the inside were pictures of all of them.
"See what beauty you can create together? Thank you. Thank you so much."
"I couldn't just let you walk away without ever seeing color!" Rapunzel giggled.
"Hey we've got to move now. Thanks Cassandra." Hiccup had packed up their camp while I had been talking to Rapunzel. I smiled and nodded. As she turned to leave, I slipped the locket into Rapunzel's bag. She turned back and waved as they took off. As soon as they were out of sight, I turned to the woods.
"Don't be shy. I've been expecting you." Shadow jumped down from the tree, followed by her pack of dark wolves.
"Oh so you prepredicted your own death? That's amazing." She snarled. " You just messed up our plans missy."
"That was one of the reasons I did it. And do not despair so. Even though I can't say the same for your father, you will leave this ordeal as a much better, happier person." She snarled.
"You think you're so smart. You know nothing!" She spat.
"I know everything." She unleashed an ear-shattering shriek as I disappeared from her.
