I was a little concerned with what the seer had said. I mean, she'd calmed down Rapunzel but I don't know, something just didn't feel right. I admit I felt better once we left. We were moving fast in hopes of reaching the next checkpoint before nightfall. We were going to camp out in one of the cave entrances. I looked down at Rapunzel and I immediately felt guilty again.

"Hey Punzie?" She smiled up at me, pulling one of my heart strings. Dang Jack pull yourself together man!

"Um you know about this morning, I really am sorry I didn't tell you." She giggled and I looked at her confused.

"It's alright Jack. You did what you thought was best. I don't really agree with you but I understand why you did it. Now there is nothing else to say on the matter."

"Oh look at you, acting all grown up." I grinned.

"Well someone has to be the responsible one and it sure won't be you." I tried to look offended but I'm pretty sure I failed in that department.

"Hey I can be responsible!"

"O yeah? Name one time you've been responsible." Every time I don't tell you the truth.

"Um when I took care of you when you were sick that one time when you were about six or so."

"Ok so you were responsible once."

"Well it's not really in my nature to be responsible Punzie." I winked and let go of her. She screamed as she fell before I caught her again.

"Don't ever do that again!" I laughed as she hit me.

"Is everything alright back there?" Appalo butted in from in front of our rag-tag team.

"Yeah we're fine." I yelled back.

"Well then stop your screaming."

"Hey that was Punzie!"

"Sure it was Frosty." I looked down at Rapunzel.

"Can you believe this guy?"

"I can believe him more than you. You dropped me!"

"Killjoy." I muttered.

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

"Mmhmm sure. HEY APPALO!"

"What?" Appalo yelled back.

"Jack just called you a killjoy!"

"Hey!" I glared at her. "I was calling you a killjoy."

"I know."

"Wha-what?" She giggled.

"I thought it'd be funny."

"Yeah sure. If you consider a messy boy fight funny, then yeah. Funny." She laughed and I smiled at her.

"Oh would you boys quit yer yappin!" Merrida yelled from behind Hiccup. Everyone (excluding me and pretty boy) started laughing. Alright so I chuckled too. Hey it was fun.

The flight went on pretty normal from there. I started talking more with Hiccup, who turned out to be awesome! But I still felt that most of the group didn't care that much for me. Pretty quickly we made it to the first village.

"Ooh can we stop down there?!" Punzie asked, excited. I agreed. We should pause for a while. I mentioned this to the group.

"No. We have to find Pitch as soon as we can. There's no time for pleasure stops." Appalo said.

"Oi! Who put you in charge? I agree with Rapunzel. We should look around and see if we can find our bearings and replenish supplies." Merrida yelled back at him. I frowned slightly. Were we really low on supplies?

"Yeah, there's not much food left and we've made excellent progress. We should stop here." Hiccup added.

"Guess you heard that." Arieda laughed at him. He sighed, defeated.

"Alright. But just for half an hour. We need to get a move on." Punzie cheered as we all went down. But then I realized how this could be a bad idea. All of them were guardians now. And they had no believers. Except for me and Arieda, none of them would be seen.

"Um guys..." they all turned to me. I took a deep breath before I told them.

"...what?" Punz looked at me like she was going to cry.

"None of you can be seen. You have no believers."

"Oh that's just stupid." Merrida said and she walked up to a man with two children in his arms. "Hi where can we get some sup-" he walked right through her. She gasped. The two kids looked at me and giggled. I waved.

"I did try to tell you." I said.

"At least Toothless won't be able to scare anyone then." Hiccup added, trying to break the tension. Rapunzel suddenly smiled.

"That's ok! We can still look around. Anything we need, Arieda can get for us!" She said. And so we ran around the shops. We ran to the center where people were celebrating something. Arieda went up to some villagers and asked.

"What's going on?"

"We're celebrating the arrival of spring! The Spring goddess has been good to us." He looked back at the group and gasped. "Look, there she is!" He pointed excitedly right next to me where Rapunzel stood stunned.

"M-me?" She stuttered out. Spring goddess? Rapunzel? Well why not? I mean I'm the winter spirit. Goddess might be going a little far, though she certainly looks the part. I grinned and bowed.

"May I have this dance oh goddess?" She giggled and I looked up at her.

"You may." She took my hand and dragged me out to the center of the excitement. We were separated quickly though as the crowd moved to the music. I looked around, trying to find her. But I eventually gave up and let myself be dragged around as the mass of people went in circles. I was just getting into it when the music stopped and I found myself face to face with Rapunzel again. We stepped back as the crowd cheered and I could see a faint blush on her face. Must've been the excitement. Right? She smiled at me and my heart skipped a beat. Then we saw Arieda waving us over. Rapunzel looked at me and started towards her. I, however, walked back to the small shops thinking maybe I'd be able to find something for Punzie. I've gotta admit, there was a lot of really cool stuff, but what caught my eye was a necklace. It was so simple-an intertwining sun and moon- but I loved it. I asked the old woman about it. She smiled at me like she knew something I didn't and it kinda creeped me out.

"You can have it boy. On one condition." She said. I raised an eyebrow.

"And what would that be?" She grinned.

"Tell that special lady of yours when all this is over." Now I was totally freaked out.

"What? What are you talking about? How did you-"

"An old lady just knows." I looked down at the necklace and thought for a moment. And when I looked back up, the woman was gone. This just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

I shoved the necklace into my pocket and started back towards our group. I noticed when I reached them that the 'oh so might king Appalo' was glaring at me so naturally I winked at him. He was shaking with fury and it may have been the funniest thing I've ever seen: his pale skin going red. Then I noticed Rapunzel was no longer there.

"Where's Punzie?"

"She was dragged off by a few village children. She said she'll be back soon. In the meantime, why don't you and Appalo map out our next move?" Arieda said.

"Me work with Lover Boy? Not happening." Appalo mumbled.

"Who're you calling Lover Boy, you retarded lightening bug?!" I spun on him.

"You, you Ice Monster!" He stood up and walked towards me.

"Oh did I frighten you, Your Majesty?" I bowed mockingly.

"As if Joker Pixie!" Now he was starting to tick me off.

"At least I don't look like I've been kicked out of heaven." His face twisted even more in utmost rage.

"AT LEAST I'M NOT PINING AFTER A GIRL WHO I KNOW DOESN'T LOVE ME BACK!"

"Appalo!" I only half heard Arieda yelling at him. I felt like something inside me had snapped and all the rage melted away, leaving only sadness.

"No, he's right." I sighed. And then I heard a sound that my eyes widen and my heart clench. The sound of someone gasping. I turned around and she was standing there, shaking her head with tears in her eyes.

"Punz-" I broke off as she turned and ran with as much power as she could manage. I barely heard the girls scolding Appalo as I ran after her.

"PUNZIE WAIT!" Of course the wind was of no help. I was running as fast as I could. I could hear my heart in my ears and the vision of her standing there, hand over her mouth, came back to me and I pushed myself even harder. Dang it! Way to go Jack. Now you've done it. How was I not catching up to her? I should have been able to do so easily! She'd gathered up her hair which made her slow down. And then ice struck my heart when I heard the piercing cry of a wolf.

"Rapunzel!" I screamed as she stopped short and turned around sharply. Her eyes were wide with fear and my heart stopped when I saw the six bladed star in her arm.

"Jack!" Suddenly a wolf leaped out from the bushes and shoved her into a portal that had just opened up beside her. A second later...And she was gone. I froze.

"Aww poor Jackie. Couldn't save his precious Rapunzel." Every muscle in my body tensed as Shadow walked up to me.

"Give her back!" I snarled and advanced on her. She disappeared before I could reach her, but now the wind was back on my side and I flew up behind her place in a branch. I put my hand around her neck and shoved her head against the tree.

"Bring her back." She laughed.

"Aww but Jackie, I was just having a little fun. Besides, why do you want her anyway? Wouldn't you much rather have someone who actually loves you? In fact, if you kiss me right now I might not tell my father where she is."

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now." I snarled at her.

"Because you're not a killer Jack. And because you're just a pitiful little boy hopelessly in love with a girl he can't even protect. Just like the time when her HUSBAND died right?" She looked at me, her eyes slits and her mouth curled. "Plus you gotta catch me first." And she disappeared again. This time I knew she was really gone. I collapsed against the tree and punched it as hard as I could. I was breathing heavily and my blood was still pulsing with rage when I heard the group panting beneath me.

"W-what happened? Where's R-Rapunzel?" Hiccup asked. I leapt from the tree and landed in front of him. I glared at him, but the look on his face calmed me slightly. His eyes widened, probably because he knew exactly what I was about to say. They all did. I could see it in their eyes.

"Rapunzel's gone."
