Meet Me In The Moonlight

Chapter 26

"Eddie?"

It had to be him. She would recognize that shaggy blonde hair anywhere. And those hazel eyes! The way they were looking at her, as if he had just stumbled upon the most magnificent treasure the world had to offer.

"Rose?"

"How are they?"

Rose doesn't get an answer, because as soon as the words leave her lips, Eddie has swooped Rose up into a tight hug, pleasantly stealing away every last breath. Rose's toes floated just above the floor, and her arms clutched tightly to her brother's neck. It had been so logn since she had last seen him, and that hadn't ended very well. Here she stood, as a human who is unable to return to her wolf form, with one of three brothers.

Swiftly, Rose pulled back and returned to solid ground, frantically needing to know how her family was. But before the words could escape her lips a second time, Eddie stepped out of the way.

There behind him stood a girl, no older than 2 or 3. Her curly little red locks cascaded down to her shoulders, much like Rose's once had. Her shiny silver eyes looked up at Rose, and a smile errupted on her face. It all happened in a flash, Rose dropping to her knees, her arms spread wide and ready to wrap the little girl, who could only be her daughter, safely into them.

"My precious girl. My beautiful Bee."

Rose continued to whisper sweet things into the child's ear while her hand ghosted over her silken tresses. Rose couldn't help the tears that fled from her eyes, making tracks across her cheeks, but a smile consumed her face. Light laughter was exchanged between the two. Bee had gotten Dimitri's facial structure and it showed when Rose saw little happy tears streaking Bee's own tiny cheeks. It could be seen in the shape of her eyes, and the bridge of her nose, and Rose couldn't help missing Dimitri just a little bit more in that moment. But, having her daughter, and a brother here at her front door, was more than Rose could have imagined asking for.

"She's so much like her mother." A voice from behind trickled into her ears.

Rose, shocked by the sound of that voice, froze for a moment. Suddenly, she whipped around, only to come face to face with the love she had once thought to be lost.

Rose couldn't even form his name on her lips before she was running for his arms. Everything around them seemed to stand still, while everything between them seemed to go in slow motion. His arms opened up to welcome her into his embrace, and her own arms locked around his neck. Her legs had attached themselves to his waist, and they held on to each other for all that their lives were worth. Rose had waited for this moment for so long, to be back with her family. She had spent so long away from them, watching it all through her daughter's eyes, and now here they were, right in front of her.

"Tell me you're here. Tell me this is real." His voice danced through her mind while his eyes searched her.

"Only if you do the same for me."

This brought a tiny chuckle to the couple's lips, before they were enveloped in each other's. The kiss was fast and passionate while it was slow and meaningful all at the same time. It seemed to last forever, yet not long enough. It was everything and nothing. It was Rose and Dimitri, reunited. There was nothing more that the couple wanted to do than devour each other and give in to the animalistic passions that were quickly consuming them in that moment. But, it all ended too soon when they heard a cry from Bee's direction.

Pulling apart, as if water had been thrown on them, they duo turned to see Bee on the ground, blood decorating her knee and red on her face. Rose wuickly jumped down before running to her daughter.

"Shh, babygirl, Mommy's here. Let me see it so I can make it better."

Looking down, Rose discovered that her daughter had slipped on the dirt and scraped her knee. She tenderly touched the skin around it, and each time it was gently probed, Bee let out another scream.

"Okay baby. It's okay, let's go get you cleaned up."

With that, Rose picked her tiny baby up in her arms and carried her inside. She invited her brother and Dimitri to follow her inside before bumping the door closed with her hip. She took her daughter into the kitchen and set her on the counter, with her little feet danlging over into the sink. Holding her daughter close, she turned the water on until it was room-temperature. Then, she took the cloth hanging on her oven door and wet a corner down. She looked into little Bee's eyes and told her it would be okay, before having Dimitri come hold her hand and continuing on to clean her knee.

"You wait right here." Rose said to Bee, tickling her little belly before running to the bathroom to get her first aide kit out from under the cabinet.

When she came back, she pulled out the antibacterial cream and a bandage. She put a little of the cream on her finger before spreading it over Bee's knee and placing the bandage over it. Then, gently, she leaned down and kissed it better.

"How's that feel big girl? Any better?"

Bee released a squeal of delight at having her mommy kiss her booboo, before turning to her daddy and saying "your turn daddy!"

Dimitri let a quiet chuckle escape from his lips before he went over and kissed his daughter's knee too.

"Eddie, would you and Bee like to go see the horses?" Rose asked in a subtle way of trying to get him to take her daughter and leave, so she and Dimitri could have a moment to themselves to talk.

"Sure. Where do I go?"

"I'll get Kali to help you, but you take care of her. If she gets another scratch on her, I'm ripping your ears off!"

With that, Eddie laughed and grabbed Bee and followed Rose to the door. Then she hollered for Kali to help Eddie and Bee while they visited the mini horses. When Eddie and Bee were off on their own little adventure, Rose returned to the kitchen to put away her first aide kit, she found Dimitri was waiting right where she had left him, leaning up against the kitchen counter.

She told him she was going to put up with kit real quick and then they could talk.

When she came back, she didn't hesitate to walk into his arms. Once she felt his arms settle around her waist, she reached up and pulled his face down to hers. She didn't know how long she had them for, but she wasn't about to waste a single moment. Their lips clashed together in a passionate flurry, while hands roamed each other's body. Rose's hands had somehow found their way into Dimitri's hair, and she forcibly pulled at the strands, trying to bring him closer to herself.

When they finally came up for air, Rose couldn't help it anymore. She had to know.

"What took so long?"

"I didn't believe Bee when she said she had been in contact with you for as long as she could remember. One night, we had a fight about coming to find you. I told her that you were gone, because that's what I thought, but she wouldn't hear it. In the middle of the night, she up and left. The last thing I had heard from her that night was that she was going to find you. Eddie found her yesterday morning, at the treeline near one of your back pastures. She had seen you, but didn't know how to approach. When Eddie tried to bring her back, she put up a fight. He ended up having to pick her up and pulling her back to the pack. Once she was back, Eddie told me her whereabouts and that he had seen you. And here we are. But I have you back now, and I don't intend on loosing you again. So, like it or not, your stuck with me little miss."

A small smile had crept onto Rose's face, hearing the story. It sounds exactly like something she would have done, and she did in a way. Every night for months, she and Dimitri had crept away from their packs in the middle of the night, just to meet with each other. Leaning up, she placed one last gentle kiss on his lips before pulling away and stating that she wouldn't have it any other way. Then, she turned away from him, and walked to her room. She opened the drawer on her nightstand and pulled out a box. Inside, it contained a gold chain, with a white gold wedding band.

It was a human custom she had seen and learned in their time apart, and she had had this ring made for when she had Dimitri again. It was plain, with the exception of the inscription on the inside. It said 'My Dimitri' with a tiny paw print. Rose wore the matching band on her own left hand, only hers was inscribed with 'My Roza' and a matching paw print.

"I had this made for you. I learned the hard way that silver burns us, so it's made of white gold. I didn't know what size would fit you, so I just picked one and put it on this chain. I want to marry you Dimitri. I know you may think it's a silly human custom, especially after spending so long with the pack again, but I can't go back. When you set me in that river, something happened. Something changed, and now I can't shift into my wolf form again. But that night didn't change how I feel about you and Bee. When I bought the cabin here, I had some adjustments made. I added in several rooms so it's large enough now if you and Bee want to stay. I'm not saying you have to, but I'd prefer if you did and-"

Rose was cut off when Dimitri walked over to her and kissed her again. It was slow and gentle this time, unlike the hungry and animalistic kisses they had shared earlier.

"I told you that you're stuck with me."

"Then prove it. Marry me."

"Yes, my Roza."

Then the reunited lovers let a kiss seal their promise of forever together.

I thought that would make you all happy. So, there is one road-block that I have hit with my Selection style fic... I have no name for it, and I can't think of one either. So, I'm resorting to my loyal readers! Can any of you help me come up with a story title? And, if you're interested in having a character in the story, shoot me a PM and I'll tell you all what I'll need form you.

In the meantime, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, and there are a few future-based outtakes (like the wedding, and maybe even more babies..) to come before the story ends.

Now I gotta run loves! Leave me a review (and a story title if you can think of one) and I'll see y'all next time folks!
