Alright on to the story!

Somewhere Far Away:

Ranger stood up from where she had been previously passed out. She shook her head, clearing it of any stray thoughts. She needed to find this base that Dannielle was supposedly in.

Assuming the ones holding her hadn't moved her to an hospital or something. That would not be pleasant. There would be witnesses, cameras, needles... Egh. She moved quickly, it would take her a few hours to make her way to Happy Harbor. And time was not on her side.

(A Few Hours Later)

Ranger moved quickly and quietly towards the entrance of the Cave. But how to get inside?.. Sneaking in using her cloak might work, but the machine to get in, the zeta tubes, would still make noise as she was transported inside. So that was a no go. Maybe she could sneak in as one of the heroes came along. But who knew how long that might take.

Dannielle had mentioned taking a hostage, but that wasn't really her style. So what now.

A backdoor maybe? Dannielle had told her how she had been assaulted in a hanger, so there had to be another way in through there. All she needed to do was find it. Ranger snuck around the other side of the mountian, moving slowly as to not attract attention. However she was stopped halfway around as she realized that there was an ocean in her way. That was a problem.

How could there be a hanger if there was no place to land?

Then she got her answer. A giant hole appeared in the back of the Cave, and a jet went screaming out. Ranger's eyes narrowed and with seemingly inhuman speed, sprinted towards the gaping chasm. She leaped off the sand, and ran along the wall, pushing off at the last second, landing with a roll inside the hanger.

Now to find Dannielle, assuming she was still here.

Ranger pulled her hood over her eyes, and wrapped her cloak closer around her body, effectively hiding her from any prying eyes. She crept towards what she hoped was the exit into the main body of the Cave.

Suddenly sirens began to blare, and a voice came cracklings to life over the intercom.

"Attention! All medical staff to the med-bay! All medical staff to the med-bay! This is not a drill!"

That perked Rangers interest, what was going on?

She moved quickly, following a white lab coat with a bushel of straw colored hair. With her doctor leading her, Ranger had no trouble finding the med-bay. And what she saw shocked her.

A flock of white lab coats were gathered around what appeared to be a corpse.

That 'corpse' was DANNI.

She was as pale as death himself. She had blotches of bruises covering her body, and her head was shaved, revealing the IV's stuck into her. She was barely covered by a thin, cotten hospital gown. It was a grisly sight, but Ranger had seen worse.

She sucked in a breath, and slowly made her way into the room.

The doctors had pulled out the defibrillator and were backing everyone away from her body.

"Ready? Clear!" They slammed the paddles down onto her chest, not bothering to move the gown out of the way, burning it. They stood back, watching. When she didn't respond, one of the doctors prepared the paddles for a second round.

But the head doctor held up his hand. "No, we say we couldn't help her, that she died and we couldn't save her. Yes?"

But it was clearly not a question, it was an order.

"Yes... Sir." One of the nurses answered. Slowly everyone in the room nodded and backed away from her body.

Then they left the room, one by one. Ranger watched, disgusted by thier obedience.

The last doctor hesitated, then turned out the lights, leaving Ranger and Dannielle alone.

Ranger stood, then moved over to where Dannielle lay.

"Oh no, you're not dying on me. I came all the way over here, you are NOT dying on me!"

She gripped the paddles, then slammed them on her chest. Danni heaved, but slammed back on the table, no response.

"Uuuugh! I do NOT know how do this!" Ranger pushed her hands on Dannielle's heart, pumping up and down.

"C'mon! Live gosh darn it!"

Suddenly Dannielle's eyes flew open, and she flew up into a sitting position.

"Why.. are you.. Yelling at me?.." Danni gasped. "Im sensitive!.."

Ranger rolled her eyes, "Jeez, a thank you would be wonderful right now! I saved your life!"

Danni blinked, "Whaaaa..." Then she fell back, her head almost hitting the table before Ranger caught her.

Slowly, Ranger slipped out the IV's in Dannielle's head, shivering with each one. "Needles, disgusting."

Danni's eyes went wide, then she put her hands to her head, "Why the hell don't I have any hair?!"

Ranger raised an eyebrow, "That's what you're concered about? Not the fact that the doctors agreed to let you die, which by the way, they did."

Danni PoV:

"What!" I spun around and looked at Lillian, the demon doctors had WHAT!

"First they shave my head then they try to kill me!? What is with this place, they're more crooked than a 90 degree angle!"

She rolled her eyes, "Stop being melodramatic, it'll take away you'r energy. Now c'mon we are busting you out of here." She gripped my arms and heaved me off the table.

I shrugged her off, I did not need to be babied. I was a fierce independent woman... Who couldn't hold herself up. I found my self crumbling towards the floor, my legs all jello and spaghetti noodles.

I let out a squawk, "HeeelLLpp!"

I saw Ranger lunge at me from the corner of my eye, but it was to late. I slammed onto the ground, but at the last second I threw my hands out, kind of catching myself before I face planted.

"Be careful!" Ranger chastised, she hauled me back up to my feet and we began to stumble out the door.

"Sorry!..." I squeaked.

She shook her head, then peeked out the door.

"Anyone there?" I asked.

She grunted, then pulled me out into the hallway, supporting me as I stumbled.

In The Shadows:

"She's taking Dannielle, we need to stop them!" Robin began to step out, fully intending on putting this rescue mission out of commission. Nightwing held out his hand, pulling Robin back.

"No, you saw the doctors, something's going on, we wait and we watch. Let them go."

Robin looked up at his mentor, shock resonating on his face.

Let them go?! Had Dick gone insane?

But Nightwing had laser focus on the two struggling girls, not seeing the younger boys confusion.

Danni PoV:

My head was starting to feel fuzzy, and wait.. Why was the world spinning? Deep breaths, deep breaths.

I found myself leaning heavily on Ranger, I felt like all of my strength was seeping out of my muscles and into the floor.

Ranger shifted me, "You're so bony, c'mon help me out."

I tried to glare at her, but I have a feeling it was pretty pathetic. But there was no way I was going to be able to help her out. Even leaning on her was beginning to tire me out.

"Oh no, just a little farther, you are not passing out on me.." We began to speed up, and I found my nerves on their edge. If someone saw us, I was no help. And I hadn't seen Ranger in a battle besides in my mind, and who knew how she'd fare in a battle with a super.

A few nerve wracking minutes later we burst into the hanger. A sigh of relief escaped both of us, and tension began to roll of my shoulders, we were almost out.

Then I realized something.

"Where's my shit?!"

I looked down at myself. Where was my jumpsuit, my utility belt?! And why was the only piece of clothing I had on burned?

"No, we are not going back there, we're almost out! You can get more stuff later.."

I shook my head, "No way! They have sentimental value, I fought BIRDY in that outfit, we bonded!"

Ramger threw me down like a sack of potatoes, "Fine! ...Hoarder.. Stay here, I'll be back with your... Stuff."

Then I watched as she ran off, her cloak wrapped around her, quickly erasing her from my eyes.

I sucked in a tense breath, please let nothing go wrong.

That's was when the sirens began blaring.

"Damn, jinxed it" I mumbled. Was I talking to myself?!

"Stop talking to yourself.. Why are you still.. Oh forget it."

I shook my head, and turned my attention solely on the entrance to the hanger.

Then, in burst Ranger, a bag slung over her back, and an army behind her.

"Let's blow this Popsicle stand!" She yelled, then she slung me over her back, and I wrapped my legs around her torso, and I held on for dear life.

Bullets began to whistle around us, and I tucked my head down.

"What did you do!" I screamed.

"I got your shit!" She retorted.

I blinked, "Oh, yea, thanks!"

She ran towards where I had to guess the hanger door opened.

"Um, you do realize that there's no opening right?"

Ranger suddenly slid to the side, and I tumbled off her back.

"Ow! Watch it!"

She glared at me, then moved her hand up, giving me a view of the small crossbow on her wrist.

"You really think that's going to do any damage?! They have guns.." Was she stupid or something.?

She waved me off, then loaded a stone from a pouch on her belt into the crossbow.

Then she aimed, and shot the stone into the wall opposite of us.

Nothing happened.

"Well... That's was freaking brilliant, any other smart ideas?" I turned around to face her and tried to show my sarcasm through my obviously not impressed face.

That's when I heard the sound of metal scraping against metal. The sound pierced the air, stabbing me straight in the eardrums.

"What the actual hell?!" I put my hands over my ears in an attempt to cover up the sound.

Ranger pointed and I followed the line of her finger until I realized that she was pointing at the now gaping hole in the side of the hanger.

"Damn, what was in that rock?"

Ranger reached over, then slung me back onto her back. She pressed against the ship we were hiding behind then waited.

The bullets were still whizzing around us, but I noticed that they seemed to slowly begin to become quieter.

"That's our queue." She mumbled, then she darted out into the path of all the bullets.

I found myself screaming bloody murder, why were we doing this! We bobbed and weaved through the hailstorm, all the while getting closer to the door in the hanger.

"Don't let them get away!" One of the guards yelled behind us.

"When did the supers have an army on stand by?" I glanced back, and immediately wished I hadn't. There seemed to be a sea of camo clad men behind us, and it appeared the reason the bullets had lessened was because a few men had left to get reinforcements.

All of whom were currently filling the hanger.

"Ok, I'm not sure I'm up to it, but desperate times and all that.. Get me to a shadow... Now!"

I yanked on Ranger's cloak, desperately trying to get her attention. If we tried to run of out here through the door, it would be suicide. They would gun us down if we continued running, someone was going to have a lucky shot.

"No... We keep to the plan." Ranger barked at me.

My response? Hold on tighter.

We were only steps away from the door when I heard it. The sound of a live grenade.

"Oh shit.."

The explosion that followed swept both of us off our feet, and in the process threw me off Ranger's back.

I went skidding on the floor, but somehow I managed to go flying in the direction of the door. I put out my arms, stopping myself before I went flying out the door without Ranger.

My back was killing me, and I'm pretty sure I got heavily scraped up from the blast.

But where was Ranger?

I glanced back, but my neck hurt so bad I could barely turn it. But she was nowhere in sight.

"On three, throw yourself back.." I jumped a bit, then realized that I wasn't going crazy and hearing voices, it was just Ranger. I glanced nest to me, and I saw the outline of her face under her cloak.

"Hey, are you good?" I whispered.

She nodded, "You ready?"

I tried to shrug, failed, and instead nodded my head up and down. "Sure thing, always ready for some action. That's my middle name, Action.."

I could feel the glare she was throwing my way, even though I couldn't really see it.

"You there, stay where you are, we will fire if you make any moves!" The guards were advancing quickly, and I could feel adrenaline beginning to pump into my system.

"NOW!" Ranger yelled.

I pushed myself with all the strength I could muster, and very quickly found myself in free fall.

"Lillian!..." I cried out.

Then I felt arms wrap around me, muffling my fall a bit.

I glanced up to see Ranger's face, straining with effort.

"Hey, I don't weigh that much, you said I was bony!"

She rolled her eyes, then proceeded to carry me, picking up pace with every step.

I could hear shouts behind us, and I began to hope that they wouldn't start shooting at us again. That would suck.

"Our rides just on the other side, as long as they haven't found it anyway."

I let my head fall back, "Oh gawd, whyyyy!"

"Didn't I tell you that melodramatics siphon your energy, so stop!" Ranger snapped.

Sighing I tried to focus on the task at hand, getting away. Well I guess it was running away... No Danni focus.!

We rounded the corner, and I was greeted with a wonderful sight, our getaway vehicle. A only slightly beat up motorcycle.

"Ok, hurry up and get on.." Ranger jumped on, then grabbed me and pulled me on behind her. I grabbed onto her midsection then I closed my eyes and focused on not freaking out, cause I was this close to freaking out.

I heard the engine start up, accompanied by the sound of explosions in the distance.

I cracked open an eye and I found myself watching what looked like fireworks. Fireworks that we're currently coming closer and closer.

"Why are they even that concerned with getting us, I mean, I died so... Why?"

"How about we just GET OUT OF HERE.." The engine revved and we spun out for a moment before we took off. The explosions just missing us.

At this point I started screaming again, "Where's the helmets, I don't feel very safe right now!"

There was no reply from Ranger, so I had to guess that she was too focused on driving to reply. She wouldn't ignore me at such a time, would she? Nah...

We sped away from the Cave, the sounds of the beach and gunfire fading into the distance.

"They'll be coming after us you know, we are going to need a safe house or something." I mentioned.

"How about those cabins you were talking about, you don't know where they are, so I doubt they do either. How about it?"

That sounded good but that brought up another point. "I don't even know where they are.. How are we going to find them?"

"You said all your 'visions' eventually come true, so why not now when it counts?"

We drove for a few minutes before I realized that she was right, we just had to trust that everything was going to work out.

Hopefully everything worked out.

And we end with a bang! I hope you have enjoyed my story, I know I may not be the best updater, but that's probably cause I lost my inspiration for this a while ago. It has taken me a while to really get back into the swing of things. However, this is not the end of Danni's epic tale.

But alas all good things must come to an end...

I plan on writing a sequel, or something similar. Be on the lookout as I feel that a new project is just what I need. Hopefully I update this time...

After all, we still need to find those cabins, and the matter of Danni and Birdy is still up in the air.

So... Tell me in the comments if you would, or would not, like a sequel. Cause it all depends on if yall want to read it.
