Chapter Eight: Multiple Failed Attempts

Kuragari snarled as he pounded his fist into a nearby wall. He had just barely escaped that bastard apparition and he knew that Hiei wasn't even using his full power. He could sense that Hiei was much more powerful but he was holding back because he didn't want to hurt Kagome and the kid… his kid. Another snarl rose in the cougar's chest as he thought of the small boy and his forbidden father. They had stolen Kagome from him and that was unacceptable. He winced slightly as he made his way to his room to recover from the wound that could have been fatal if he hadn't retreated when he had.

But how was he going to get to Kagome? Hiei was obviously stronger than he was at the moment so Kuragari couldn't face off the hybrid until he was more powerful. He couldn't use the other spirit detectives either seeing as they were all strong as well. Even Kagome was a powerful opponent and he knew that if they ever figured out that he had the Spirit Pendant, he would be in deep trouble. As long as he had the pendant, Kagome, Yusuke and Kuwabara couldn't harm him with their most powerful attacks. Hiei and Kurama on the other hand, they were a force to be reckoned with and Kuragari knew that he wouldn't be able to beat either of them in a one on one battle.

The spirit detectives were going to be on high alert now that he had intentionally attacked her on his own. He honestly didn't mean to harm her as much as he had, he expected to merely kill the child then have her wounds taken care of. Was it so much for him to ask that she become his mate? He was going to give her the world! Both worlds if he wanted to be exact. What more could a woman ask for than to be the queen of both worlds? And to be his queen would be quite an honor. He was handsome and powerful, all a good woman needed in a mate.

As for the female cougar, she was all any powerful mate could ask for. She was strong both physically and mentally, she was beautiful, and had a wonderful personality. He only knew this because he's been watching the miko at school. He observed her while she interacted with the humans around her, both females that despised her and envied her and males that desired her, and was always impressed. She seemed to be able to defuse almost any situation without much conflict. She would make quite a wonderful mate once he figured out how to snatch her from the Spirit Detectives.

Kagome woke early the next morning feeling warm and secure. She could feel a slight ache in her muscles and the events of the previous night came rushing back at her. Knowing that her body was too sore to allow her to leap out of bed, Kagome forced herself to calm and seek out everyone's auras. She was both relieved and surprised when she located everyone's exact location. Taro and Yukina seemed to be sleeping in the ice maiden's room. Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, and Genkai were in their own rooms but what surprised her was that from what she could feel, Hiei was in the same room as her.

Slowly opening her eyes, Kagome was further surprised to see that she wasn't even in her own room but in Hiei's. She glanced around and gazed out the window. She felt something tighten around her waist and glanced down to see a pair of nicely toned arms wrapped protectively around her. Turning her head slightly, Kagome felt her heart pound in her chest as she found herself staring up at Hiei. He was sound asleep and had a worried expression on his otherwise peaceful face. She also soon realized that she was positioned in his lap and there was no doubt that she was extremely comfortable.

Glancing out the window and seeing it was still dark out, Kagome rested her head against Hiei's chest and snuggled closer to him. Inhaling deeply, the miko smiled softly at his forest scent that she loved so much. Feeling sleep gradually taking over her once more, Kagome placed her hands over Hiei's and allowed herself to fall into a peaceful, protected, and warm slumber

Hiei woke as the sun began to shine through the window in his room. Yawning, he glanced down at the miko still sound asleep in his lap. From the looks of it, she'd shifted in her sleep and cuddled closer to him. She even went as far as entwining her fingers through his that were still resting on her stomach. Expanding his senses, he easily felt everyone was awake and getting ready for school. Sighing to himself, he grudgingly removed his hands from the miko's grasp and shook her shoulders gently.

A soft growl escaped her lips as she shrugged his hands off her shoulders and snuggled closer to him, if at all possible. Rolling his eyes at the miko, he tried shaking her once more, but with slightly more force. Kagome growled once more in warning as she squirmed. Hiei abruptly realized just how much her squirming was affecting him when her backside brushed against his groin. A growl of his own rumbling in his chest, the still half asleep miko was suddenly jolted into the waking world when she quickly realized she was no longer cuddling in Hiei's lap.

Opening her eyes slowly, she stared up at the hybrid that was pinning her down against his bed. Her eyes widened slightly when she caught sight of the darker shade his ruby eyes had turned as he leaned down and pressed his lips against her neck. She felt her stomach flop as heat rose to her cheeks. Hiei grazed his fangs along her skin, causing her to shiver beneath him.

"Hi… Hiei what a… are you doing?" she stuttered out, trying to keep her mind clear of the haze that threatened to overcome her.

"Is mommy feeling better daddy?" Both apparitions froze as Taro's voice reached their ears. In the blink of an eye, Hiei was gone and Kagome quickly sat up and smiled to her future son.

"Yes sweetie, I'm feeling much better. How about we go make some breakfast?"

Kagome tried her best to hold back her blush as they made their way to school. For some reason, her mind kept drifting back to what happened that morning and she couldn't shake it. Every time she felt her eyes wondering in Hiei's direction, she recalled the lust… the desire that she saw burning in his eyes. She could still smell the strong scent of his arousal… as if it were lodged in her nose to never be forgotten. If Taro hadn't interrupted… what would have happened?

"You ok Gome? It's near impossible to get you to be this quiet."

Kagome's thoughts were interrupted when her cousin's sarcastic comment reached her ears. She turned a halfhearted glare toward him. "I could say the same for you Suke." she retorted.

He rolled his eyes at her feistiness. "And she's back."

"Be careful Yusuke, you remember what happened the last time you got her mad this early in the morning?" Kuwabara warned, shivering when he remembered how hard the miko pounded her cousin into the ground.

Yusuke snorted, a slight smirk on his face. "I'm not too worried. Now that her and Hiei are official, I'm sure she'll be less grumpy in the morning… especially if they're sleepin in the same bed together."

Kagome's eyes widened a fraction as her entire face turned almost as red as Kurama's hair. She glanced toward the hybrid to see his reaction and was further surprised to see a smug expression plastered on his face. Pushing back her embarrassment, she glared first at her cousin before focusing it on the apparition. "I'll sleep in my own damn bed." she growled before stomping ahead of them.

Yusuke stared after her in shock before turning his gaze to Hiei. "You guys really are sleepin together?!" he bellowed. He'd just been joking around but he never thought the two would get so close so quickly.

"Hn. Not anymore apparently, thanks to you."

After reaching school, several minutes after Kagome since she'd apparently stomped her grumpy self all the way to her classroom, everyone split up to attend their first classes. Hiei entered his and quietly made his way to his seat. He unfortunately realized that Kagome was giving him the silent treatment again. What exactly had he done? He couldn't recall doing anything that caused him to deserve such cruel punishment.

'Onna.'

No response.

He growled as he glared at her from the corner of his eye as the teacher entered the classroom. As class went on, he continued to assault her with his irritated and intense glares. But the miko remained unfazed. He was quickly growing impatient but he didn't know what he could possibly do to grab her attention. He stared at her closely, taking note of her stiff posture. She sat in her chair with her arms crossed over her chest as she glared at the front of the class. Every so often, he caught her avert her glare to one of the many females in the class that would glance back at him with that hungry look in their eyes.

So even though she seemed mad at him, she was still more irritated by the other females in the classroom. But what was she mad at him about in the first place? Hiei growled to himself softly as he tried to communicate with her once more. He did not like being ignored… not one bit, especially not from his future mate. Trying to figure out how to grab her attention, Hiei held back his growl as the bell rang. He quickly gathered his things just as Kagome stood from her desk and exited the room. How did she always get out so quickly?

"Hiei! Where are you going?"

He once again held back his growl when he heard the voice of one of the girls that was obsessing over him. Turning sharply, he glaring down at the five girls gathered behind him. "Can none of you pathetic females take a hint or are you just stupid? I love Kagome and no one else."

Hiei could feel their shock at his words. He was quite surprised with himself as well. He'd actually just admitted he loved Kagome… he never actually said it out loud. It didn't count when he told the miko that he might have been in love with her. That had not been confirmed. Now it was official, and with it set in stone, it only irritated him further that the miko was ignoring him. Most of the girls shrunk back from his harsh words and looked broken hearted but one in particular brushed it off and took a step closer to him. "Hiei, I can make you so much happier and fulfilled than she can." she stated, smirking up at him in a way that she must have thought was seductive. It certainly wasn't.

"If any of you approach my woman again with ill intent, I will kill you." he snapped coldly, feeling satisfaction flood through him when he sensed their fear. Cowardly humans. Glaring at them once more for good measure, he turned on his heel and abruptly left the classroom and hurried to his next class that he shared with Kagome and Kurama. His already cloudy mood darkened further when he noticed that Kurama had switched seats. He now sat in the seat that he usually sat; right next to Kagome. The hybrid glared daggers at the avatar as he took the seat the redhead would usually sit in.

'I apologize, Hiei, but Kagome requested that I sit here today.'

Hiei directed his glare to the front of the classroom, ignoring his avatar friend for the time being. He still needed to figure out how to get Kagome to cease this punishment. He spent the entire class trying to think of how to get her to talk to him but could come up with nothing. He couldn't even think of why she was mad at him in the first place. The bell rang once more and it took a great amount of control to keep from snarling out in frustration.

Soon lunch came around and Kagome made her way in the opposite direction once the bell rang. She entered the girls' locker room and changed into the uniform swim suit that was in her locker. She wanted to avoid seeing Hiei for the moment so decided to take a quick lap around the school pool before her gym class after lunch. There wasn't a gym class before hers so the locker room was empty as she exited and made her way to the pool.

Yusuke tried to remain calm as they continued to wait for Kagome to enter the lunch room. The last time she didn't show up for lunch, they found her at Genkai's with her future kid sleeping on her. After waiting for a few more minutes, Yusuke stood and was about to go searching for her until Kurama placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Relax, she is still in the building. She seems to just be skipping lunch." the avatar informed him.

Yusuke slowly sat back down in his seat. He knew Kurama could probably feel the miko's aura if it was nearby so there wasn't anything to worry about. Sighing in relief, he suddenly noticed that Hiei was no longer sitting at the table. "Where the hell did Hiei go?"

Hiei followed Kagome's scent straight to the girl's locker room. He had finally lost all his patience and would not sit around waiting for her to start talking to him again. She was going to talk to him, and that was final. His future mate would not ignore him. Pushing the door open, he quickly realized that no one was in the locker room. He could hear a shower running at the back of the large room and made his way toward the sound with his eyes narrowed.

After her quick swim, Kagome ventured back to the locker rooms and removed her swim suit. Wrapping a thin towel around her body, she decided to rinse the chlorine out of her hair before getting ready for her gym class that was about to start soon. Turning the water on in one of the stalls, she ducked under the water after securing her towel in place, just in case someone walked into the locker room. She was suddenly startled out of her mind when the curtain of her small shower stall flung open. Turning to her intruder with wide eyes, they narrowed once she realized it was only Hiei.

Hiei glared down at her silently in return, though he found it very difficult. A thin white towel was all that covered her delicious body from his view and the warm water streaming down her wasn't helping the effect. The towel left little to the imagination though since it was sticking to her body like a second skin. But he held strong and continued to glare angrily down at her as she pinned him with her own glare. A barely noticeable blush suddenly appeared on her cheeks and the hybrid held back his smirk. She must have realized that she was only wearing a towel. Her intense glare wavered for only a moment before returning to its intensity once more.

Now Hiei did smirk. She was breaking. Either that or her mind was wondering to thoughts similar to his. Her glare turned from angry to suspicious when she spotted his expression change. Her eyes widened as he took a step closer to her, that smirk still in place. Kagome crossed her arms over her chest as she continued to glare at him but took a slight step back to keep distance between them. She felt her face heat with a blush as he took another step toward her and reached behind him to close the curtain, his gaze still focused on her the entire time.

She took another step back and growled softly when her back pressed against the wall of the shower stall. She watched as the hybrid took another step toward her, completely submerging himself under the still running water. Kagome felt her breath hitch in her throat as she gazed at the apparition soaked through completely. She growled up at him threateningly as he took yet another step toward her and before she knew it, his body was completely pressed against hers and pinning her against the wall behind her. Hiei ignored her snarls and leaned down to press his lips against the skin of her neck.

"I do not enjoy this silent punishment onna." he growled, his chest vibrating slightly as the sound reached Kagome's ears. "You will speak to me, no matter what it takes."

The miko was confused by his threat at first until she felt his fangs brushing against her neck softly. She felt that familiar heat coil in her stomach as she tried to push it back. She was angry with him. He'd sided with Yusuke that morning and kept leaving her sexually frustrated every time they got intimate. On top of that, he left her to explain to their future son why 'daddy' had been on top of 'mommy' and why there was a musky scent in the room. She fought against her arousal as another growl rumbled through her in warning.

Hiei smirked at her defiance. She was being stubborn, as usual. He could smell traces of her arousal but he could also tell that she was holding back, resisting. Pressing his body more firmly against hers, he pulled away from her neck only to press his lips against hers hungrily. Wrapping his arms around her, he trailed his hands down her sides and stopped briefly on her hips. Grasping her hips for a moment, his hands continued their decent down her body. He smirked against her lips as he grasped her backside firmly in his hands.

He used her gasp of surprised to his advantage and pushed his tongue past her lips, relishing in her delightful taste. He felt his own arousal increasing as hers reached his nose. Pressing his hips against hers, he held back his smirk as a soft moan escaped her and was silenced by his lips as he continued to torture her. Squeezing her backside, he lifted her up slightly and growled his approval when she slowly wrapped her legs around his waist. With her still wearing her short, thin towel, it rode up past her hips as she maneuvered into the far more intimate position.

Parting from their kiss to allow her to breath for a moment, Hiei ground his erection against her and she moaned out quiet loudly. Hiei smirked and squeezed her backside once more as he ground against her and returned to nipping at her neck lustfully. He could feel her heart pounding in her chest and her breathing rushing out of her quickly as she leaned her head back to give him better access. The hybrid was so tempted to tear his clothes away and pound into the miko shuttering against him. He could feel she was prepared for him but there was a small voice in the back of his head telling him that Kagome's first time shouldn't be in the school's locker room.

Deciding that he should at least finish what he started, he trailed his tongue down her chest and dipped his tongue into her cleavage. Removing one hand from her backside but still using the other to hold her in place, he grabbed her breast firmly and kneaded it as he leaned back up and kissed her lustfully once more. Dipping his tongue into her mouth, he nibbled on her lower lip briefly as he thrust his hips up, pressing his covered erection against her heated core. He desperately wanted to relocate his hand from her breast to her core. He wanted to feel just how wet she was for him, although he would surely find out later since it would be coating his pants once they were finished.

Simultaneously squeezing her breast and her backside, he ground against her once more and felt her entire body stiffen against him.

"Hi…Hiei" she moaned out as she pulled away from his kiss and rode out her orgasm. Once she calmed, Hiei slowly lowered her to her feet and pulled her towel down to cover her once more. Hooking his finger under her chin and turning her face up to look at him, he smirked at the dazed look that still consumed her eyes. He held back his frown as he realized that he wanted to see that hazed look in her beautiful purple eyes, not the concealed brown color. Leaning down, he pressed his lips against hers softly.

'I told you I would get you to talk to me.' his voice drifted along her mind, satisfaction more than apparent in his mental voice.

Kagome forced herself back to reality and rolled her eyes at him. "Yea yea shut up." she growled grudgingly.

Suddenly the sound of feminine voices entered the locker room and Kagome's eyes widened. "Get out! Hurry!" she whispered as she secured her towel around her body.

Hiei rolled his eyes down at her and kissed her once more before disappearing altogether. Sighing, Kagome quickly turned the shower knob to cold and rinsed herself off before drying and changing into her gym uniform. She definitely hadn't expected Hiei to come looking for her and after the attention he'd just given her, there was no way she could remain angry with the koorime. That was perhaps the best apology she'd ever received. Maybe she should give him the silent treatment more often…

Hiei was thankfully able to calm his raging hormones on his way to Genkai's. There was no way in hell he could attend his next class without changing first. Not only were his clothes soaking wet but proof of what he and Kagome had done during lunch was spilled all over his pants. The smell of her arousal was strong and he knew he couldn't just wash it away. Even if it wasn't visible anymore, he was certain he, as well as their demon companions, would be able to smell it easily. Swiftly disappearing into his room, Hiei changed his clothes and placed his dirty ones in the laundry basket in his closet before rushing back to school to make it to class in time.

School wrapped up quiet quickly and Kagome sighed in relief as she exited the building. Waiting outside for the guys, she held back her groan of irritation as one of the many boys that constantly hit on her began to approach her. Forcing a small smile, she took a step back when he stopped just a little too close to her. He smirked down at her and took another step closer anyway and whispered softly. "I know what you were doing in the locker room."

Kagome's eyes widened for a moment before narrowing to slits. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Don't play innocent with me. From the moaning I heard through that door, you are far from innocent." he smirked as he took another step toward her. Little did either of them know, Yusuke, Kurama, Hiei, and Kuwabara had exited the building and were approaching her but stopped upon seeing the confrontation. An irritated growl escaped Hiei and he was about to snap at the pathetic human boy when Kurama placed a hand on his shoulder and shook his head slightly. Confused, he turned his gaze back to the two curiously as they all watched from a distance.

"You must be mistaken." She stated, though she continued to glare up at the boy, daring him to continue.

Apparently he didn't understand her threat because he continued. "I saw you walk into the locker room with your swim suit. A few seconds later, I saw Hiei go in the locker room too and I got curious. I only had to wait for a little while. You're a loud one, that's for sure… it's kinda sexy"

"As I said before, you must be mistaken." she repeated, growing more irritated. She was just about ready to snap at this boy if he didn't back off. What the hell was taking the guys so long?

Before she could glance around the courtyard in search of them, the boy took another step closer to her and she responded by taking another step back. "Why bother resisting? I can pleasure you far more than that shorty could ever hope to."

Rage filled the little miko's eyes as plots of this boy's death swam through her mind. Hiei was only able to remain calm because of Yusuke and Kurama, who were practically holding him where he stood. He didn't care that they all knew of what happened in the locker room, all that mattered was how that unworthy human was going to die.

"Speak of Hiei in such a way again and you will regret it." she ground out between clenched teeth. It took all her self control to keep from snarling at the boy.

The boy rolled his eyes, obviously not scared of the miko's threat as he leaned down closer to her with that same smirk on his face. "I'll make you a deal. I won't tell the entire school about what you two did in the locker room if you spend a night with me."

From that moment on, time seemed to freeze. Kurama and Yusuke secured their hold on their hybrid friend but it didn't seem that it was necessary because there was no need for Hiei to attack the boy… because Kagome did. They all watched with wide eyes as she pulled back her fist and pounded it into the boy's jaw quite forcefully. The boy tumbled to the ground and she grabbed the front of his shirt and lifted him back onto his feet. Glaring up at him with such intensity that Kuwabara felt a shiver run up his spine, Kagome brought him closer as she spoke.

"If you even breath a word about what you may have seen or heard, I'll hunt you down and show you a form of torture that will make you wish you were born a female." she hissed up at him. The boy nodded his head vigorously and she dropped him to the ground. He scrambled to his feet and darted off. Dusting her hands off as she glared after the boy, she turned and a sudden smile appeared on the miko's face when she spotted the boys.

They continued to stare at her with slightly wide eyes. They'd never seen that side of Kagome before… well not seriously anyway. Kagome threw threats and insults around at them all the time but the way she'd said it to that boy… it sounded like she would actually follow through with it if he disobeyed her demand. Kuwabara felt a small amount of fear toward the miko. She was scary when she wanted to be. Yusuke, Hiei, and Kurama on the other hand thought differently. Yusuke was proud of his cousin for not only sticking up for her soon to be mate but herself as well. Kurama and Hiei were impressed by her obvious control over the situation.

"You guys ready to go or what?" Kagome asked as she approached them.

They nodded and followed after the miko as she led the way to Genkai's. Yusuke felt a smirk splash across his face as his gaze landed on his cousin. "So Gome, what were you and Hiei doing in the locker room?" He teased.

She growled at him softly. "Back off." Apparently they'd all seen her little 'conversation' with the human boy that tried to black mail her. She wasn't too bothered by it but she had hoped it would remain her and Hiei's business only. Obviously she was wrong. Damn nosey humans. Now that Yusuke knew, she wouldn't hear the end of it. Looking at the bright side, at least he wasn't getting angry that she and Hiei were getting intimate on school grounds.

Her thoughts were suddenly halted when she sensed danger near. Growling in irritation, she turned to the boys. "Kuragari's army is heading for Genkai's again." she informed them before dashing off toward the temple. She needed to get there before the army so she could keep Yukina and Taro safe from harm. Her companions were right behind her as she sped up the steps and straight into the temple. Spotting Yukina and Taro in the living room, she instructed that both of them remain inside the temple with Genkai. The old psychic strengthened her barrier ever since Kuragari's first attack. This time, the cougar's army wouldn't be able to get past. They would have to go outside the barrier and fight them off.

Kagome hugged Taro tightly when the small boy began to cry. He was worried about his parents and wasn't happy that he was to remain inside the temple and away from them. Promising him that everything was going to be fine, Kagome kissed his forehead softly and tweaked his ear before standing and following the guys outside. Making their way to the edge of the barrier, Kagome dropped her concealment spell and told the boys to remain inside the barrier until after the first wave of attacks. They didn't have to ask why when they suddenly felt her purification spring forth.

They watched in awe as her purification seeped into the barrier that surrounded the temple and seemed to thicken it. The demons suddenly began pouring out of the trees and once they came in contact with the barrier, they were turned to mere ash. After seeing the first few demons get purified, the ones following kept their distance from the barrier and used long range attacks instead. Now the team slowly exited the barrier. Without warning, all five of them split off in different directions.

Demons were collapsing onto the blood stained ground left and right and things seemed to be going quite smoothly. Kagome had a gut feeling that something was wrong though. There was something they were missing and it was something important. Kuragari sent a part of his army to attack them… because he knew they were a threat to him but why had he retreated so suddenly the last time he attacked Genkai's temple? Wasn't he still injured from his fight with Hiei? Questions clouded the miko's mind as she continued to destroy any demon that dared to approach her. She suddenly realized exactly what was wrong when a pair of arms wrapped around her waist securely.

"Daddy! Mommy's in trouble!" Taro's voice reached their ears and Hiei reacted immediately. He swiftly cut down the demons around him and searched frantically for the miko that held his heart. He felt it stop beating when he spotted Kuragari holding her securely and pulling her away from the battle. She was struggling but there wasn't much she could do when he was stronger physically and she couldn't use her purification. Rushing at the two of them, his eyes widened when they both suddenly disappeared in thin air.

The last few demons were quickly taken down as Hiei pounded his fist into the ground, snarling out in anger. He failed to protect her. She was taken from him and there was nothing he could have done to get to her in time. He could feel Yusuke, Kurama, and Kuwabara's worry and anger building and the hybrid was nearly at breaking point when a hand rested on his shoulder. Looking up with fierce ruby red eyes, he forcefully calmed himself when his gaze landed on Taro staring up at him.

"Don't worry daddy… mommy will be alright. We'll find her." The small boy murmured. Hiei sighed and nodded slowly. What happened next, he didn't expect. The cougar child stepped forward and wrapped his tiny arms around his neck and hugged his as tightly as he could. Sure he'd known for some time now that Taro was his future son but he still wasn't used to it. Closing his eyes, Hiei slowly wrapped his arms around the small boy and stood with him in his arms. He turned to the others, his eyes wild.

"Baka, you remain here and protect the old woman, Yukina and Taro." Hiei demanded, his gaze on Kuwabara.

He nodded without protest and followed as Hiei began making his way back to the temple to place his future son in the care of his sister. After handing the now sobbing boy to the ice maiden, he turned to Kurama and Yusuke. "We'll split up and search Makai for her. Follow any scent that has to do with that bastard."

"No shit." Yusuke growled, irritated that his cousin had been kidnapped with all four of them there. It was bad enough that Hiei hadn't been fast enough to reach her but he'd failed as her cousin to keep her out of harms way. Who knew what Kuragari was doing to her right now…

Kagome snarled up at the cougar demon as she yanked against her restraints. He'd chained her to his large canopy bed and was gazing down at her in amusement. Once she got her hands on this sadistic bastard… oh he would wish he'd never laid eyes on her.

"You're so much more attractive when you're riled up. Unfortunately, I must leave you for a bit to attend to some important business. Do not fret, I will return soon my dear." He smirked down at her before disappearing through the door. Kagome continued to glare at the door for a moment longer before she averted her attention to her restraints. Tugging at them a bit more, she growled softly when she realized that Kuragari planned this out better than she expected.

Calling upon her purification, she tested her powers on the chains and sighed when it did nothing to assist her. Her caper covered all his bases this time… so how was she going to escape? Closing her eyes, Kagome concentrated on locating Hiei and the others. If she could just reach out to one of them, she could help them find her. She could feel Kuragari leaving his hidden castle with a few low level demons but ignored them. They didn't matter at the moment. Pushing her senses farther out, she tried to locate an aura familiar to her.

Hiei soared through the trees at high speed. While following Kagome's scent, he was also keeping track of where Kurama and Yusuke were at all times. If either of them began to quicken their pace, he knew that meant they'd found something. The hybrid's eyes narrowed as his mind drifted to the multiple ways he could kill the bastard that dared to take his future mate from him. Kuragari would die a long and painful death… there was no doubt about that.

Hiei suddenly skid to a stop when he felt Kagome's aura crash against his. Closing his eyes and focusing on her aura, he followed it to where she was located. A slight smirk tugged at his lips at Kagome's intelligence. She threw her aura out quite far in order to gain someone's attention and it seemed to have worked. Now that he had a vague idea of her location, Hiei darted off once more. Averting his attention to Kurama and Yusuke, he was relieved that the miko's aura seemed to have reached them as well. He was proud of how witty his mate was.

Kagome sighed in relief when she finally located not only Hiei but her cousin and Kurama. It took her almost four hours to actually push her aura that far out but it worked. With her aura reaching them, they would be able to follow it to her current location. Even if her attention was wavered, they knew her general location. Now all she had to worry about was Kuragari. The only reason her mind wondered to the cougar demon is because she could feel him reentering his castle and heading straight for her.

Forcing her sense of urgency into her aura so her rescuers could feel it, she opened her eyes just as Kuragari entered her room. Snarling in warning, she pinned him with a glare as he closed and locked the door behind him. Turning his gaze back to her, he smirked slightly.

"Still riled up I see. Perfect, you're far more attractive when you're feisty." He purred as he approached her slowly.

"Touch me and I'll tear you to shreds." She snapped as she yanked at her chains once more.

He sighed as he stopped just beside the bed. "I've imagined how sexy it would be to take advantage of you while you're restrained… now I can truly make it happen. How wonderful."

Kagome bared her fangs up at him.

Kuragari smirked down at her. "Resist all you want, it's not going to stop me my love." He purred. Kagome snarled when the cougar was suddenly straddling her hips, leaning back to pin her legs down with his hands. He turned his gaze to her as she moved to wrap her tail tightly around his throat. Her attempt at attacking him failed when he merely wrapped his tail around hers and forced it down against the sheets. Trying to kick her legs free, she snarled her frustration when she realized that no matter what she did, he was stronger than her physically.

She was screwed…

"My love, why do you fight me? I can show you pleasures that I'm sure that forbidden couldn't ever hope to." Kuragari purred as he moved to sit on her thighs so his hands could be free. Kagome growled in warning when he placed his hands on her flat stomach under her shirt.

"Get your damn hands off of me." She snapped as she pulled against the chains once more.

Kuragari rolled his eyes at her as he moved his hands higher up her shirt, pulling it up as he went and revealing her perfectly toned stomach. Purring softly, he leaned down to press his lips against her soft skin. Kagome snarled and twisted her body sharply, successfully throwing Kuragari completely off the bed. It didn't accomplish much thought because the cougar merely crawled back onto the bed and this time laid on top of her instead.

She was just making her situation worst…

"I don't suggest trying that when I take you my dear, it will surely hurt you far more than me." He murmured softly as he pressed his lips against her neck. "I'll make you my mate and no one will have you… you will be mine."

"Get off of me you disgusting excuse for a demon." Kagome snapped as she tried to twist her body and throw him off her once more. She failed miserably and as her punishment, Kuragari relocated his hands to her breasts. She felt no pleasure at all from the firm grasping but he seemed to be enjoying it to no end. Relaxing completely, trying to convince him that she was complying with him, she waited for him to drop his guard before she tried plan c.

After several disgusting minutes of allowing his hands to roam her body, she felt him press his erection against her hips. She knew his guard was dropped when he leaned up slightly and slowly began lowering his lips to hers. She closed her eyes and with all the force she could muster, she thrust her knee up between his legs. Unfortunately for her, he hadn't dropped his guard at all. He'd been waiting for her to aim below the belt and was therefore more than prepared for her attack.

"I'm going to need that if you ever want children my dear." He purred before pressing his lips against hers forcefully. Kagome tried to pull away from him but he was stronger. She was trapped and there was nothing she could do until someone located her and threw this bastard off her. Kuragari's hands traveled up her sides once more and grasped her breasts again and she held back her urge to puke. The only person that was allowed to touch her breasts in such a way was Hiei, not this bastard that was forcing himself on her.

Kagome felt him push his tongue into her mouth a moment later and she was just about to bite him when she felt one of his hands trail down her school uniform and under her skirt. She began thrashing as much as she could when he tore away her panties and began unbuckling his pants. There was no way in hell that she was going to let herself get raped by this sick demon. Her first time was going to be with Hiei, when he took her as his mate.

Squeezing her eyes shut tightly, she mentally screamed for her future mate to save her. As if he appeared upon request, the door to the bedroom burst off its hinges and slammed against the opposite wall. There in the doorway stood Hiei and he looked beyond pissed. Before Kagome could blink, Hiei rushed at the cougar that was still laying on top of her and pounded his fist into the side of his face. Kuragari went flying into the wall before sliding to the ground with a groan. Turning an angry snarl toward Hiei, Kuragari vanished before their eyes.

Kagome sighed in relief as Yusuke and Kurama rushed into the room. Hiei was growling in frustration as he tried to figure out how Kuragari disappeared as he did. It was very frustrating that the bastard could escape them so easily. While the hybrid fumed on the opposite side of the room, Kurama began working on releasing Kagome. Yusuke quickly draped his coat over his cousin's legs when he noticed she had her legs crossed tightly for a reason other than to prevent their enemy from raping her.

Once the miko was released, she leapt off the bed and hugged both Kurama and Yusuke before rushing at Hiei and wrapping her arms around him tightly. "I wasn't sure if you would make it in time…" she murmured, her face buried in the material of his shirt.

Hiei growled softly at the thought of not getting to her in time but shook his head clear. "You are mine. I will never allow anyone else to have you."

Did you guys enjoy? I hope so cause it took me FOREVER to get this chapter out of my damn head. I wasn't completely sure where this was going but I finally got it back on track and was able to finish the chapter. Now my only problem is figuring out where to go from here…. All well.
