Chapter 4: The City in the Mountains

Elesa stopped in Driftveil City to rest. She found a bench and took out her Pokémon. Emolga, as always, jumped on top of Elesa's head and sat there expecting a treat. Luxray and Ampharos rubbed up to Elesa leg also looking for treats. Elesa took her bag off her back and reached in to grab out some bread. She broke the bread into 4 pieces giving each Pokémon a piece and saving one for herself. As she moved to close the bag she saw another pokéball at the bottom of the bag. It was the Jolteon Winona had given her. Elesa grabbed the ball and let out the Jolteon. The Jolteon had looked scared and confused. "You've been in that ball for a while. I'm sure you're hungry," Elesa said. She then took her piece of bread and broke it in half. She took one half and held it out to the Jolteon. The Jolteon kept its distance. Elesa didn't know how to get the Jolteon to trust her. The last time they saw each other was when Elesa was little and trying to catch the Jolteon with her bare hands. She looked up to her Emolga and gave it Jolteon's piece. "Emolga why don't you give our new friend some food?" Elesa whispered to the Emolga. The Emolga became confused. It had already gotten its one piece of bread and didn't want another. After a moment the Emolga grabbed the bread and looked around. It saw the Jolteon and flew over to it. The Emolga then put the bread down in from of the scared Jolteon and flew back on top of Elesa head lay down. The Jolteon played with the piece of bread for a moment then started to eat it. Elesa moved her hand to pet the Emolga. "Thanks lil guy." Elesa whispered.

Elesa looked around her. She had never visited Driftveil City, it seemed calmer than Nimbasa. The beach was too far away to see if any were enjoying the sunny day and sadly no ships were docked in the Driftveil Harbor. When all the Pokémon finished eating Elesa grabbed all the pokéballs and said "Well guys, time to get going." Elesa then returned all the Pokémon to their pokéballs except the Jolteon. The Jolteon looked at Elesa with the pokéball in her hand confused. Elesa put the pokéball in her pocket. "Why don't you walk with me for a bit Jolteon?" Elesa said. Elesa got up from the bench, threw her bag on her back and started to walk towards Route 6. The Jolteon at first remained still out of confusion, but as Elesa got a further and further away from it, it decided to follow her. Jolteon sprinted to catch up to her. It ran so fast that it almost knocked Elesa over when it caught up to her. "Woah there!" What's the rush?" Elesa said jokingly. She moved to pet the Jolteon and it embraced her hand warmly. The remainder of the trip Jolteon followed Elesa closely. For the moment Elesa had started to forge a bond with her new Pokémon.

The sun began to set when Elesa had finally reached the outskirts of Mistralton City. She grabbed Jolteon's pokéball out of her pocket and said "Sorry but I got to do this part alone Jolteon." She put Jolteon back in its pokéball and continued into Mistralton City. The City was far more beautiful then she imagined. Lush green trees were all over the city. The vegetation that was grown in Mistralton was surrounding the cargo service runway, fruits and vegetables were everywhere. Elesa was even more amazed at the stunning view of the mountains that surrounded the city. She felt like she was back home in Fortree City. Though Elesa was deeply taken in by the beauty of the city, she did not see the beauty she was looking for. She walked all around the city, looking high and low for the girl she saw. It began to get dark and still Elesa had found no sign of her. Just as she was about to call it a night, a very perky voice said from behind her, "Excuse me miss but are you lost? You look lost." Elesa turned around and to her delight it was the girl she was looking for, she had found Skyla.
