Hello There! How are you? I'm doing fine as of the moment. I'm currently busy balancing things out, especially with my work and school, plus, it's my birthday last week so I'm kinda busy...
Anyway, This is the second part of the 6th Chapter. Enjoy!
Chapter 6 : Forgive and Forget (Part 2)
It has been a week since Eriol got admitted as an apprentice, and his co-trainees still thinks that he's just a kid playing in a kindergarten school. Much to their surprise, and by his mentor, Kouichi, He has been the most active. He usually participate most of the time, and he's far more knowledgeable than anyone in the class. Though there are some cases in which he won't be able to follow a simple instruction the first time, that's why Kouichi has to repeat it again. Anyways, his Guardian Angel, Tomoyo, was there just to make sure that his mentor will be nice to him.
It's lunch time. Tomoyo and Kouichi were in the facilitator's office, as they talk about the class, especially, Eriol.
Tomoyo started to ask Kouichi. - "So...what do you think?"
"To what?" said Kouichi.
- "To him..."
"To whom?"
"Ah...Eriol-san." He said, as he sips a cup of hot coffee. "Well... he's still new."
- "I know. But don't tell me you're not impressed..."
"Impressed? It's just about a week. He has a lot to learn. I understand he knows too much about culinary terms, its usage, and things like that. But c'mon... He could not even distinguish the difference between the bread knife and the dinner knife! I also have to guide him on when to use even the simplest utensils! So why should I be impressed?"
- "Okay! Don't be upset, I'm just asking!" Tomoyo then grabbed a cup of tea, as she continues. "But admit it. You saw his potential, right?"
"Tomoyo, the only thing that I know is that he's different. Completely different. And by the word 'different', I think you know what I mean. See? His co-trainees are not at ease each time they see him. "
- "Point one : Agreed. He's different. He's a revelation for me. Point two : Why the heck should they fell uncomfortable whenever he's around? For the past week of his stay, I did not see, or hear that he hurt someone, nor he did nonsense. I saw his potential, that's why no one can stop me from my decision of accepting him."
"And until when will you gonna stick on that belief? Until he fails?"
Tomoyo just looked at Kouichi's eyes. Her face is almost close to his. "You know what," she said. "You've been with our family for the past 20 years. I remember mom telling me about your story. Everyone, but our family had though you'll be a failure. But my family accepted you unconditionally. I am not asking you to give him a favor. I just want you to treat him well, the way our family treated you for the past 20 years. Understood?"
Kouichi didn't reply. Shiver all over his body, as he almost freezes because of guilt. "I need to get ready, I'm heading back to the office" Tomoyo said. "I'll go back at 5:30. Prepare your report by then." She grabbed her bag and walked away.
Syaoran and Eriol were together taking their lunch. When Syaoran asked Eriol about Sakura. "Oi..." Syaoran said. "Any response from Sakura?"
Eriol shooked his head. - "M-mm... Was not able to talk to her."
"Why?! It's been a week, surely, you could have talked to her about me!"
- "I...I tried. But, every time I do, she will quickly change topics...that's why."
Syaoran sighed. "Sorry... I failed. A - are you mad at me?" Eriol asked.
"Ah!, oh, no... don't worry. I'm not. " Syaoran answered. "I'm the one who should apologize. I'm asking you too much favor."
- "That's okay...You know, Sakura is my closest friend...And you're my friend too. I don't what happened between the two of you, but I want to help so that both of you could settle your past."
"Ah, you!" Then Syaoran ruffled Eriol's hair. " You're too kind. Appreciate your help." They both continued enjoying their lunch when Syaoran's phone rang. It was Tomoyo who's calling him. She asked him to come by to the parking area as they will head back to the office. "Ow, Eriol, Tomoyo called me. We have to go back to the office. We'll be back after your class. See you later, and enjoy your lunch." Eriol nods. Syaoran stood up and he heads towards the parking area where Tomoyo is waiting for her.
It was sunset and another day had ended. Almost everyone went home, except for Eriol since he was tasked to clean the board and rearrange the chairs for tomorrow's class, which was simple task. Suddenly, two of his co-trainees called him.
"Hey, newbie!" The first man said. "Come here!"
"M...Me?" Eriol asked. "Why?"
"Nothing." the other one said. "We've just realized that since you are a newbie, we have to welcome you, right? We're here to initiate that!"
Eriol replied. "Well...Thank you for that...But, I'm cleaning the room...Maybe, we'll do it next time."
Both of them laughed. "You're funny... by the way, you can do it after we welcome you..." Said the first man. They approached Eriol, and started to grab his arms. Eriol tried to break loose. "S...Stop it!" he said. But both of them didn't. One of them had even pulled Eriol from his collar.
Back at the facilitator's room, Tomoyo asked Kouichi for the evaluation papers she needed. The papers include the progress of the training, the facilities needed to improve the quality of training, among others. It will be presented to the clients on the next meeting this weekend. Tomoyo then looked into Kouichi, and apologized for her rudeness. "I'm so sorry." she said. " I didn't mean to be rude at you."
Kouichi responded. "That's okay. I think I went way too judgemental about him. It won't happen again."
Tomoyo smiled upon Kouichi's response. 'that's good to hear. Anyway, we have to review the report before it will be submitted to our clients. They're about to start their review when suddenly, they heard a loud noise coming from the mess hall. It sounded like some plates and utensils that fell on the floor. "What's that" says Tomoyo. Both her and Kouichi stood up to find out what's happening.
Eriol was pushed by one of his co-trainees. He was in pain after He hit the wall, and sat down leaning his back on it.
"You freak!" says the first man. "It's your fault why we were punished hard last week! I don't know how the hell you joined us, but we don't like it!"
Eriol was clueless. "I...I don't know what you're talking about!"
"Playing innocent, huh?!" The first man then called the other, as he brought a bucket filled with waste water. "Hey, cry baby! What will you do after we pour this to you? Are you gonna tell your mama?" Eriol, already scared, just helplessly looked at them while they were laughing. He pleaded them not to do what they are planning, but they did not listen.
The first man grabbed the waste water, aiming at Eriol. "You don't belong to us. Just go, because if you don't..."
"WHAT WILL YOU DO?!" Both men looked at their back as they are about to pour the waste water over Eriol. Eriol also looked from where the voice came from. They saw a very furious Tomoyo. She gave the two men a very sharp glare. The men very staring at each other, as the first man had placed the bucket filled with waste water slowly back to the floor, while the other one tried to make an excuse. "Mam... let me explain..."
But Tomoyo became more furious. "JUST TELL ME WHAT YOU WILL DO!" Both got scared. Their bodies were shaking, as they don't know what to tell her.
Finally! I've finished it. Sorry for being so late in updating the story, and I hope you'll still enjoy it!
