90. Irving & Gretchen, Fence, Friendship (requested by the WGPM)

"Hey Gretchen, do you want to go fencing?" Irving asked.

Gretchen turned around. Isabella was hosting a pool party and she invited everyone she knew. Irving had walked up to Gretchen, feeling a sense of déjà vu. What other chapters had done this before?

"Fencing?" Gretchen seemed confused. "What's fencing?"

Irving pulled out his phone and loaded up Moogle (parody of Google).

"Fencing," he started, "the sport of fighting with swords, especially foils, épées, or sabers, according to a set of rules, in order to score points against an opponent."

He looked up, only to see Gretchen's horrified face. She was shaking violently.

"Fighting?" she asked. "S-Swords? That sounds terrible!"

"Believe me, it's not." Irving assured. "Downtown at the arena, they use plastic swords.

Gretchen stopped shivering. "That doesn't sound too bad." she replied. "I would say…" She pondered for a moment. Should she say 'yes'; or 'no'? Finally, she came to her decision.

"I would say no."
