Duels and Vectors 11

A Yu-Gi-Oh! and an Elfen Lied crossover yes folks I've finally lost it I've the second person to cross these two anime's together. Story is rated K+ for mild swearing, a dark tone/plot, scary monster combat, frightening monsters and battle descriptions. Yu-Gi-Oh! setting post Duelist Kingdom and ignores Battle City, Enter the Shadow realm, Waking the Dragons, World Championship plus Dawn of the Duel; Elfen Lied setting a few days pre-episodes 1-5. Last time in Duels and Vectors the plucky young duelist Mayu has run into the likes of the scheming Weevil Underwood. Can her fairy and light deck beat his beastly insect horde? Read and find out!

-chapter 11 - Mayu VS Weevil - Part 2

When we last left our young heroine Mayu she was facing off against the mighty insect duelist Weevil Underwood. So far the duel was still up in the air. The schoolgirl had tried a few good plays but Weevil then cleverly countered them. Even after she played a few good moves he refused to give her any praise on her dueling tactics... mostly it was because of the stuck up smug jerk he was.

"Why're you listening to your cheerleader squad? My insects have more than enough power to crush your pathetic pixies!" Weevil said enjoying the fact his taunting was doing a great err rather a bad job depending how you saw it at unnerving the plucky schoolgirl.

Mayu just glowered at him. She wasn't going to let this creepy bedbug psyche her out. "Wrong! As long as I believe in myself and have faith in my deck I can't lose!"

Mayu's two classmates both a unanimous 'um hmm' in response to that, Weevil however just let out another of his high pitched witchy laughs. All the stuff about faith, trust, and believing in yourself? Utter crap he thought! Duel Monsters revolved around power and strategy not some silly preschool sitcom teachings. "As you wish my dear... You asked for it then I'll show you no mercy!''

Her field still had the Sogen field magic card. Familiar-Possessed - Hiita was in attack mode plus Cosmo Queen was still in her hand. Mayu then drew her card... She was in luck. She had just drawn Gemini Elf! It was one of Kaede Motou's favs. It's 1900 attack might be useful. "I summon Gemini Elf in attack mode! I end my turn." The twinned elven sisters then appeared on her side of the field.

Seeing as how his opponent still had a big spirit in her Weevil figured it time to really step things up. ''Hmph! Another useless girly card. I draw.'' The second Weevil drew his card his face lit up like a light. "I play this card... Jar of Avarice. I get to draw two cards then add monsters from graveyard back into my deck. Let's see oh this will do. I play Petit Moth and I equip it with Cocoon of Evolution!''

The Petit Moth monster resembled a mottled green caterpillar with a set of blue spots along the side. Weevil then added the slime ridden pink Cocoon of Evolution to the field from his hand. Petit Moth crawled into the said cocoon then sealed itself inside. The Cocoon then squirmed and spasmed.

"Ugh I think I'm gonna be sick.'' Haruka said swallowing while trying to ease her now upset stomach.

"Bugs are far stronger than you think girls. They're more numerous than any other creature on this planet and they'll take you out.'' Weevil snickered as it was now Mayu's turn.

Looking over her current field Mayu debated what she should do next. Weevil was good but he still tried to cheat it was high time somebody put the slug in his place. Mayu hoped she had the skill to do it. "Whatever! They're still disgusting if you ask me. My turn to draw.'' She grimaced as she saw what she drew.

It was the vile Parasite Paracide card. It's effect allowed as followed: When your opponent draws this card, it is Special Summoned to their side of the field in face-up Defense Position, and inflicts 1000 damage to them. Now Mayu's life points were down to 4900 with Weevil untouched. Then, while the card is face-up on the field, all monsters Mayu controlled become Insect-Type monsters. Not good news.

"How do you like my little bugly friend? I draw.'' Weevil said flipping up one of his face downs. "I summon Arsenal Bug in attack mode.'' Weevil then summoned the level three creature which resembled a fly with an anchor shaped head. The bug carried a sword and spiky shield as weapons. "Arsenal Bug has a nasty ability as long as there's another insect monster on my field its power is 2000 and defense 2OOO as well. Now that I've four monsters I end my turn.''

It was the schoolgirl's turn again. She drew her card... It was Gellenduo. It was a level four Fairy type. The critters resembled a cartoony pink and green creature. Its power was 1700 but its defense was only a dismal 0. But she knew its ability which could be used as two tributes for a Light based monster. But she needed stronger monsters on her field to guard her life points.

She now had enough material to summon Cosmo Queen. ''Get ready Weevil its time we kick this duel into overdrive. I sacrifice Familiar-Possessed - Hiita and Amazoness Paladin to summon Cosmo Queen.''

The two monsters on the preteen's field side vanished in a flash of light as Mayu then played her new card face up. It resembled a woman in a dress accented by a large gold collar and huge gold headdress. It was level 8 and bore a powerful 2900 attack strength. Its defense was 2450... still very respectable.

Weevil was stunned by this development. Just how in the world did a willowy middle school girl snag one of these ultra rare cards? His face twisted into a deep angry red. He was mad. So the little girl wanted to play with the big players eh? Well so be it then. If she wanted to get squished who was he to discourage her? ''Grrr... damn! Clever quite clever. I draw.''

Weevil then drew his next card. It was just the insect creature he needed for the next step in his grand combo. He sacrificed his Swarm of Scarabs card from his hand to summon his next insectoid horror show type monster. Swarm of Scarabs then went to his deck graveyard. He then played his card. ''I summon forth Inzektor Giga-Mantis!''

The monster Weevil summoned resembled a humanoid in metallic green armor styled after a mantis. Its level was a 6 and a Dark element. Mayu wasn't impressed by its attack and defense power. It was only at 2400 while its defense was a solid nothing as in a big fat zero. Still she had to stay on her toes if she was to beat this bug loving punk. It was her draw phase now so she did it. She'd just drawn a card that might just save her in this match. ''I tribute my Gellenduo card to summon this... ''

Then monster Mayu summoned, which essentially was a light skinned yellow robed angel with six wings. Her hologram based violet hair fluttered in the wind. She was a 7 star monster with a 2750 attack power and 2400 in defensive ability. "Wingweaver!''

Now Mayu had two powerful monsters on her side of the field. This fact wasn't going unnoticed by the likes of Weevil who only had Cockroach Knight to attack with or guard his life points. But Mayu wasn't done just yet. "I attack with Cosmo Queen with Cosmic Nova! Go ahead and step on that bug!''

Cosmo Queen charged up her attack and launched it at Inzektor Giga-Mantis destroying it outright. Weevil life points took the hit lowering them to 7650. ''But I'm still not done. Gemini Elf attack his Neo Bug!"

The elfen monster then attacked Neo Bug further decreasing his life points to 7550. Now Mayu was making some progress at least. ''Great move Mayu keep it up!'' Rina cheered from the sidelines.

Now Weevil was fuming. No second rate or even third rate for that matter rookie was going to make a dueling monkey out of him. Not if he had anything to do about it at least. Weevil then drew his card. ''My turn little girl... Hmm things are looking up if I do say so myself. I've drawn Insect Barrier which means you can't attack me.''

The preteen duelist was about to say she didn't control any bug type monsters but she remembered just what Weevil was talking about. ''But I don't have insect... Oh crap, thanks to yer stupid parasite card you turned all my monsters to bugs! I end my turn. And one more thing... punk!''

Even with her Wingweaver on the field for the second turn Mayu was stuck and had no way to fight back even if she drew a good monster card. It was Weevil's turn now. Weevil was deep in thought. "All I need is three more turns so I can play my Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth card. I hope I can draw it soon. But Insect Barrier should keep this precocious preteen off my back until then.''

Weevil then went into his draw phase. ''I play my trap card... Call of the Haunted. I revive my Saber Beetle! Rise my beastly bug!''

The large brown horned beetle monster then was resurrected back to the field where it joined Arsenal Bug. But still Saber Beetle couldn't attack the turn it had been Special Summoned so Mayu could relax a bit.

It wasn't much but she was still in this duel. She was slightly down but not out. It was her turn to draw. The card she picked was the magic card Malevolent Nuzzler. It showed a teal skinned woman with purple hair bearing a third eye staring over her precious gold jewelry. It also increased a monster's power by 700. It wasn't much but the higher her monster attack power the smaller the difference in the loss of her life points when it was destroyed. "I play Malevolent Nuzzler and equip it to Gemini Elf. It increases her power to 2600. I end my turn.''

Mayu had to find away to get rid of that darn Insect Barrier card. It was then Weevil's turn, who drew next. "I play the magic card Axe of Despair which increases Saber Beetle's attack to 34OO! Saber Beetle attack and destroy her pathetic angel!''

Saber Beetle then impaled and destroyed Wingweaver reducing Mayu's life points even further to 4250. Haruka had a few things of encouragement to say to her friend. ''Don't give up Mayu you can take down this slug. I know you can.''

But Mayu was starting to fall prey to lingering bouts of doubt. Weevil may be a cheater but again he was far more skilled and had been dueling longer than she had been. It was Weevil's turn again and he made a sinister grin at the group of school girls. He drew, then played his card. ''I've drawn and play Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth. Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth can only be played after by Tributing "Petit Moth" on the 6th turn after "Petit Moth" has been equipped with "Cocoon of Evolution". Since that's already happened let's not delay ladies. The show starts now!''

The next thing the girls knew was that the disgusting cocoon had vanished as a giant green horned moth appeared in its place. Its wings were a light blue ringed with darker blue then alternating with the two colors. Its level was 8 with a whopping power of 3500 and defense of 3000. It was more than a match for Mayu's Cosmo Queen and Gemini Elf.

''Ah crap... Y'know what Mayu you might be in trouble now.'' Rina commented seeing how her friend might be in trouble now, as if she wasn't in deep trouble by this point.

Weevil knew he had the young duelist right where he wanted her. It was time to step things up a bit. ''Give up Mayu your fairies, ladies and girly girls are no match for my powerful insect swarm. You knew what you were getting yourself into the second you wanted to duel me... Fool! My bugs shall take their time manhandling you. Perhaps I'll play with you for awhile then finally squish you for good. With Insect Barrier in effect, Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth and my powered up Saber Beetle on the field you're hopeless.''

''Maybe it is. Weevil's been at this a lot longer than me. Maybe I can lose.'' Mayu said as her confidence started to fail. She looked over her hand and field then Weevil's field then gulped.

Seeing as Mayu needed a pick-me-up Haruka however still held hope for her friend to claim a victory over Underwood. "Don't give up girl! Statistically speaking the odds aren't in your favor but that doesn't mean you winning is impossible! Remember what Yugi and Kaede told you.''

"Hahahahahah! Draw any crap cards you want! It won't do you any good! You might as well say you've lost kiddy!'' Weevil cackled like madman as Mayu stared into the unblinking eyes of his Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth. Sure she could win... but how was she going to pull it off?
