literally bumping into each other au

She was late. Again. She needed to set a third alarm clock. She would lose her job one day if she kept coming late to work.
Stepping from foot to foot impatiently, she drummed her fingers on the counter, biting her tongue to not shout at the barista to just work a little faster. It wasn't her fault that she had overslept. But she couldn't live without her venti skim latte with three shots of espresso. She couldn't function without her caffeine.
She sighed out a breath of relief when the barista finally pushed the coffee towards her and she slipped the cup holder over the cup and turned around, smacking right into someone.
It was like one of these scenes in a movie where everything happened in slow motion. She saw the lid pop of her coffee, saw the brown liquid make a perfect bow in the air before it found its target.
Her white blouse.
"Fuck." She cursed, jumping back. "What the hell? Why are you standing in my way?"
Of course it was illogical to scold him for standing behind her, but she was already late and now her blouse was ruined too. Paper towels appeared in her line of view and she yanked them out of his hand, it was definitely a male hand, not to mention that she could smell his aftershave, and if she hadn't been so angry she would have definitely realized that it was her favorite, and padded at the brown liquid on the white fabric.
"Excuse me, madam. My fault."
Her fingers froze and she was still holding the paper towels against her chest as she finally looked up at him, and forgot everything around her, feeling even more as if she had just been thrust into one of those sappy movies, almost expecting an orchestra starting in the background.
"Robin Locksley." He said smoothly, a grin pulling at the corner of his mouth, a smile that shot right down to her stomach, and left a warm spot behind. "At your service."
She was still holding the half empty cup of coffee in one hand and the paper towels in the other, unable to form any coherent thought.
Love at first sight doesn't exist.
But of course it wasn't love, it was just lust. She wanted to lick him all over. That was all.
His grin broadened when she didn't say anything, and he pulled out a business card, putting it down beside her on the counter.
"Feel free to send me the cleaning bill, Mrs. ..."
He paused, clearly waiting for her to tell him her name and she croaked out. "Mills. Regina Mills."
"Nice to meet you, Regina Mills. Hope to hear from you soon."
"Venti Americano for Robin?"
"That's mine."
He reached around her and grabbed his coffee, leaning down and whispering into her ear.
"Don't forget to call me, Regina."
And before she could say anything he turned around and walked out the door, and she stared at the business card laying on the counter.
I am so screwed.

She knew it would end that way. She just knew it. But of course Marian hadn't listened to her when she had told her four years ago that Robin was all wrong for her. Marian had accused her of being jealous, and even though Regina had refused it vehemently, jealousy might have played a small part. Because she had fallen head over heels in love with Robin the moment she saw him.
But of course she didn't act on her feelings, instead she always treated him as if he was gum under her shoes, because she feared if she didn't make him hate her, if they started to be friends, she might let her true feelings slip one day, and that could never happen.
And it didn't. They had only spoken with each other when absolutely necessary, and she had managed to avoid him at any costs. Marian had never understood why she was so hostile to her husband, but the day of their wedding Regina's heart had broken into pieces, while she had plastered a smile on her face, forcing herself to seem happy for her best friend.
And now, four years later, their marriage was shattered into pieces. All they had done over the last year was fighting. Marian had showed up at her doorsteps almost every night, crying on her shoulder and Regina had tried to tell her that she was only miserable in her marriage. But it had taken Marian over six months until she had called a lawyer and filed for divorce.
Their marriage was over and Regina felt sorry for being right. But maybe it was for the best. Marian would find happiness again, real happiness this time, and she herself might finally find some peace when he would disappear out of her life forever.

Five years later
"Regina? Regina Mills, is that you?"
She turned around, a smile tilting her mouth upward as she spotted him standing a few feet behind her. She thought she would never see him again and now she had stumbled over him in Central Park. What a coincidence. Or was it fate?
"Robin Locksley, what are you doing here?"
"Gosh, how long has it been? How are you doing?" He closed the gap between them, and to her surprise he wrapped his arms around her and gave her a tight hug before stepping back again, and she stared up at him in complete bafflement.
"Can I ask you a question?" His face turned serious, the smile dropping off his face, and something deep in her stomach started to flutter as she saw the intensity in his eyes. "A question I wanted to ask you a long time ago?"
"Sure. Shoot."
"Do you really hate me? I mean, obviously you weren't my biggest fan, especially after the whole mess with Marian, but … I have always wondered if …"
"If what?" Her heart was beating wildly in her chest, and she tried to mash down the flames of hope that were lighting up inside of her.
"Do you hate me?" He asked again, his voice quivering slightly.
"No, I don't hate you. I just pretended to hate you."
"Why?"
"Because it was easier."
"Easier how?"
"Because pretending to hate you didn't hurt that much." She replied, averting her gaze to the ground because she couldn't look at him anymore.
"Regina? Look at me." He pulled her chin up with one finger until she met his eyes again. "Don't tell me we wasted all those years because we were both too blind to see what the other felt?"
"Looks like it."
"God, we were so stupid." Robin growled, pulling her back into his arms, and she couldn't believe that she wasn't dreaming.
"We were?" She mumbled against his chest, still unsure if she could trust her ears.
"Regina Mills, can I invite you to dinner tonight?" He leaned back, looking down at her with a slightly worried expression.
"Yes." She whispered, feeling a lump form in her throat. "Yes, you can."

"Papers, please."
He leaned over and pulled his papers out of the glove box and handed them to her. As she was lighting her flashlight on his driver's license, her brows suddenly furrowed.
"Would you please step out of the car, Mr. Locksley?"
"Something wrong, officer."
"Just step out of the car, please."
He unbuckled his seat belt and opened the door, stepping out of the car.
"Hands on the hood please."
Walking to the front of his car, he leaned forward, pressing his hands on the hood.
"Spread your legs."
And he did, letting out a shuddering breath when she trailed her hands up his left leg, the back of her hand brushing his balls, her fingers squeezing him briefly before she reached around him, opening his pants and lowering the zipper.
"Just making sure you are not hiding any weapons in here."
He growled as she pulled his cock out. "Regina?"
"It's Officer Mills for you."
"Officer, we can't …" He yelped as her hand tightened until he saw stars.
"We can." She breathed, her hand jerking back and forth and he groaned, letting his head drop onto his chest, his eyes falling shut as she quickened the pace.
"Regina, oh my God. Please." He rasped, his hips rocking back and forth, his cock pulsating hot in her hand. "Faster. Oh my God, faster"
He let out a soft cry as she moved even faster, her grip tightening again around him, and a moment later he stiffened, his release spurting out of him, spilling on the dark asphalt as her hand milked him dry before letting go. He was still panting as he turned around slowly and reached for his pants to zip them again.
"Seems everything is in order, Mr. Locksley."
He didn't reply anything but only grabbed her and pulled her into his arms, one hand cradling her head while the other pressed against the small of her back to keep her close, as he kissed her hungrily.
"One day we are gonna get caught." He whispered against her mouth, feeling her lips turning up into a smile under his.
"But not today, Mr. Locksley." She replied and wiggled out of his arms, her fingers playing over his crotch one last time before she turned around. "See you at home."
"See you at home, Mrs. Locksley."

She felt the wind against her naked legs and swirled around, unable to do anything as the door fell shut in front of her eyes.
"Shit!"
She only wanted to pick up the newspaper from the lawn. It had been only five steps. Five small steps. But of course the door was close now and her keys were inside. And she was standing only with a towel wrapped around her on her front lawn.
"Shit. Shit. Shit."
"Can I help you?"
She almost lost the towel when she turned around to the voice. Of course her new neighbor was a man. Of course he was a good looking man. A very, very, VERY good looking man. And she was only wearing a towel.
Heat rushed into her cheeks and she lifted a hand and brushed her still wet hair out of her face. "I shut myself out."
"Wait a second. I'll be right over."
A few moments later he strode over her lawn and knelt down in front of her door, fumbling inside of the look with what looked like hairpins and a second later the lock snapped and her door swung open, and she cocked an eyebrow, looking at him questioningly. How the hell could he pick the lock so fast?
"Long story." He answered her silent question, shrugging his shoulder.
"I see." Regina replied, though she didn't want to think too hard about where he learned this special trick. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
She looked after him as he walked back to his house and when he reached his door he turned around again, a smirk pulling up the corner of his mouth as he said. "And by the way … nice legs."
It took her over a minute until she was able to move again and when she closed the door behind her, she leaned her head against the wood and closed her eyes.
Oh my God!
