Chapter 7
Sigyn awoke on a hard surface. She lyed on her side, her body aching everywhere as her eyes opened and focused. She saw the rough exterior of a metal bench underneath her..turning her head she was surprised to see him.
Across the way on another metal bench, sat Loki. Legs spread, elbows resting on his legs with his hands clasped together in front of his mouth. Sigyn could tell by the look in his eyes that he were in deep thought while staring at her sleeping form.
Loki soon realized her eyes were now open and immediately his hands clenched tighter in obvious anger. He inhaled sharply, letting his hands drop to his knees as he glared at her.
Sigyn narrowed her eyes at him, not daring to break eye contact first. They stayed like this for several minutes before finally Loki let out a breathy laugh. It sounded harsh as if he were teasing her new-found determination.
"You're doing a marvelous job stopping me.." Loki said with thick sarcasm in his icy voice.
Sigyn immediately lifted her self up and into a sitting position, sitting up as straight as she could, hoping to level with the height of Loki's slouching across from her.
Loki's eyes seemed to laugh at her as well now.
She had enough of him belittling her and making her feel weaker than she actually was.
"I'm not a weak child anymore, Loki. You don't get to treat me as such." Sigyn confidently placed her hands in her lap and sat with perfect posture as if to seem like Loki was not getting to her at all.
Of course his words stung her very heart but she would not show it anymore. Or at least try her hardest not to. Even though it seemed as if Loki could see into her very soul if he wished it, reading her like an open book.
But she continued to stare him down.
Loki gave an astonished expression, brows furrowed as he replied.
"I merely find it amusing that you choose to side with them.. when you're so clearly in love with me."
His mouth slowly spread into a smug smile, showing all of his white teeth.
He watched as her cheeks lit up to a bright pink. This pleased him.
Sigyn quickly looked away from him, seeming to be preoccupied with the rough flooring of the jet she soon realized they were obviously on.
Loki tilted his head to the side, trying to get a better look at her bright eyes. His smile never faltering. He chuckled darkly as the weight of his stare made Sigyn blush with a deep red now.
She began fidgeting with her fingers as he examined her up and down slowly, taking his time..
"I do believe there may be something more..." He licked his lips as she swallowed. Obviously feeling very flushed under his gaze.
Loki knew exactly what he was doing as did she. He continued.
"something you'd dread for me to know.."
With this, Sigyn bit her bottom lip. Clearly thoughts that were not so innocent had played in her mind quite often than she'd like them to. This embarrassed and confused her at the same time. It also made her feel ashamed with herself deep down inside.
She saw Loki's finger rub against his lips from her peripheral vision..
His bright smile then returned as if he realized something..
Oh no.. was all she could think.
"Do you wish to lay with me, dear Sigyn?" His voice was low in a seductive whisper..
Sigyn immediately turned her head back to his direction with wide eyes and cherry red cheeks.
Loki's expression was darkly seductive but his eyes were nothing but playful, teasing.
This sent shivers up Sigyn's spine. She recognized it as feeling..turned on. Yet he still managed to frighten her..
She felt her heart beating fast in her chest and began to breathe a little heavier than usual.
Loki raised his chin with sheer amusement so plain in his features.
"You've changed..
heh, I like it."
Sigyn swallowed down her dirty thoughts and feelings, not wanting the conversation to go a completely different way..
"As so I've said. Again I am not a child anymore... So I can make my own decisions. And one of them is stopping you." She made her voice sound hard at the end.
immediately Loki's expression changed to a blank canvas, but sigyn could see a flash the of hurt in his eyes before it quickly dissipated. He then turned his vision to his clasped hands seemingly to be in deep thought.
It seemed so long before Loki finally spoke.
"And how do you plan on stopping me?" He asked once again but this time there was no malice in his voice, only sadness. Plain sadness and Sigyn thought she had heard..was it regret?
Sigyn swallowed, not knowing what to say to him. Not anymore anyways.
It amazed her how he could be so malicious at times then be so soft at others. Everything about him made her feel absolutely baffled.
She exhaled softly before speaking. All she wanted was for him to be truthful with her once again. The way he was in her memories.
Before all this they had loved one another so passionately but now there seemed to be a wall between them..built up from years of untold stories and seperation that so desperately needed to be heard.. a barrier that seemed so strong they couldn't possibly break.
But she would try.
"Loki..you know this is wrong." She paused, waiting to see if he'd look at her or much less reply.
His head was now bent over, his hand resting over his forehead. He clutched his knee tightly with his hand. He was obviously not in the mood for conversation but Sigyn would not care this time.
"You said you can not go back..that you have come too far now. I do not believe there is ever a time you can not change what you choose. There is always a choice, Loki...Please listen to me."
Sigyn's voice trembled at the end without meaning to. she felt warm tears build up under her eyes, threatening to overflow down her cheeks at any given moment.
Loki began massaging his temples..The hand that was clutching his knee was now in a tight fist.
Sigyn stared for a moment at his stressful form. Feeling as if she should just give up. She wiped her eyes before the tears could fall.
A man walked up to Loki, telling him that they have made it to the Stark tower and quickly walked away.
So that is where we were headed.
All Sigyn could do was stare at him, she soon gave up on wiping away the tears and just let them fall. She bunched up the sides of her ruined dress into her fists, clenching and unclenching. She had felt so utterly helpless..so completely disappointed with herself, as if she should have tried harder.
Loki stood up and grabbed his scepter, without a glance in her direction he whispered to a man in a black suit, then just like that, walked off the jet.
She felt as if she had failed him..memories suddenly flooded in her mind of when they were children.. always telling each other secrets one another had found out with the castle walls, always seeming to be together..they had known each other for so long and she couldn't even save him from himself!
The man Loki had whispered to walked up to her and grabbed her roughly on the arm, letting him guide her off the jet and into the bright light ahead.
Her eyes squinted from the sun's rays as wind whipped her hair around. She felt the tears drying in their places on her cheeks.
Just up ahead she could see Loki walking into a building. Sigyn instinctively looked up and was taken aback by how large and high the Stark tower really was in person.
The man practically shoved her through the building doors where two other men took their places in front of her. Clearly Loki thought she'd need either body guards or guards in general.
She did not see Loki inside even though they had passed through a ton of rooms, he was no where in sight.
She couldn't help but feel a deep hollowness in her chest.
The man on her arm scooted her onto an elevator where her and three men stood awkwardly listening to a midgardian tune from above while they waited for their floor. Sigyn stole glances at the two mean in front of her. Both wore dark sunglasses, dressed in all black suits, their expressions blank.
Sigyn, without a doubt knew their eyes must be a soulless blue like Clint's had been.
Sigyn gasped as the men grasped her arm tighter. She had obviously startled him. But she was so happy, for Clint was not the one by Loki's side anymore, meaning he must be free somehow!
She immediately felt joy rise up in her chest, a refreshing feeling after feeling so depressed over Loki lately.
A few minutes later they arrived on floor five. Sigyn was hauled out into the bright hallway and down it until they came to a room.
The two men in front opened the door for Sigyn and the clingy man. He practically shoved her through the doors closing it right behind her so hard her ripped dress flew forward, shivering as she felt the cold wind on her back.
Sigyn stood there for a moment all alone in the room. It was no doubt some bodies office. The walls were white with strips of beige on the rims. The floors were hardwood and very nice. A huge window gave her access to the outside.
She immediately ran across the medium-sized room to it, pressing both hands up against the glass. She wasn't that far up compared to how tall the building really was but it was high enough for her to see the streets below.
For now nothing was out of the ordinary. Everyone seemed to be alright, going about with their daily routines. Sigyn felt relief.
She had no idea what Loki was planning but she knew it was big, very big. Something drastic and she knew a lot of people would get hurt or worse.
She would keep her eyes out for it, for it was sure to come any minute.
