A/N So I dropped off the face of the earth and I have tons of really good reasons but I won't go into detail just know that 2013 was the worst year of my life and 2014 was spent trying to fix everything I fucked up in 2013. But if anyone's still interested in this story of one-shots about Elissa cause I still love her.

Dance with me my lady

After the eventful encounter of meeting Zevran Ariani, where he was trying ti kill them, Elissa had decided to spare the elf. She couldn't really explain it, there was no reason. It was probably down to the fact that she didn't want any needless death. Zevran was just following orders. She believed that and now his orders were to follow her.

Alistair did not approve of her keeping him alive and he was now constantly watching her, probably waiting for Zevran to try and kill her again. She couldn't blame him. Work was work was it not? He seemed happy enough with everyone in fact he had even bought a casket of beer from the near by village tavern in celebration of restoring to circle tower to peace. It was a big accomplishment, being thrown into the fade then fighting Uldred, all in an afternoon. It was horrific actually. Elissa had hated every second of it.

However she had met Wynne and Wynne was now accompanying them as well. Their team was growing in number, they were becoming more family like and they were of such variety. Sten the Qunari. Morrigan the Witch of the Wilds. Leliana the Orliesian Bard. Zevran the Antivan Assassin. Wynne the experienced circle mage. Ser Gilmore the Loyal Solider. And Alistair the Grey Warden and Bastard Prince. And what was she... what did they identify with her? Hopefully nothing bad, she wanted everyone who followed her to like her.

During the celebrations she sat down beside her dog drinking slowly as she watched the others even Sten and Morrigan had edged closer to at least hear the celebrations. "Beautiful, Beautiful Lelianna, do you by any chance know any songs from my beloved Antiva?" Zevran asked as he threw his arm across her shoulder and she giggled putting her drink on the floor.

"Antivan Music is very interesting, during my time as a minstrel I did learn one or two," She replied and cleared her throat, everyone looked at her waiting for something beautiful to emerge. As she started to sing it was unlike anything they had heard before, her voice sounded deeper, harsher on the vocal tones but at the sound it produced was more fluent and relaxing to listen to.

Elissa was so enraptured in Leliana's singing she almost missed Alistair walking across to her. He knelt down in front of her and offered his hand. "I would love to dance with you my lady." He smiled adorably at her, he was near impossible to refuse. It was easier to refuse her mabari than it was to refuse Alistair.

She smiled and put her hand in his. "Why not." She smiled and after getting to his own feet he gently pulled her to her own before they stood in the typical dance position. He wrapped his arms around her and they swayed slowly in time. It was nice. She couldn't put words to describe things she wasn't quite used to feeling. Alistair was irreplaceable to her. Something had stirred between them when they had first met but she hadn't thought of it much. But know, something was clearly going on.

He had given her a rose and they had a heart felt conversation after she returned his mothers amulet. She didn't really know what was going on. It was so confusing for her, now was not the time for any feelings aside from winning and revenge to surface but Alistair brought something out in her.

Lelianna stopped singing to continue drinking, Zevran continued drinking to, Ser Gilmore was already fast asleep beside the Mabari hound, Wynne had smartly retired for the evening far away from everyone else. It was obvious Morrigan was tempted to play another prank on Ser Gilmore and Sten continued to stand there... like Sten does.

"Would you like to go for a walk? Maybe sober up a little?" Alistair asked her looking at all the others as well. "What a bunch..." He muttered under his breath before he turned back to look at her his hand extended so she could take it.

She did and they started to walk, there was a little stream near the lake, not to far from camp you could still see the fire and tents but it was far enough away that they were hidden from the others. The were walking but Alistair stopped. He moved in front of her and looked like he was desperately trying to get his thoughts straight. "So! All this time we've spent together, you know the tragedy, the brushes with death, the constant battles with the whole blight looming over us, will you miss it once its over?" He spoke quickly waving his hands about. He was nervous and she could tell, it was endearing and she thought for a minute.

She wasn't sure what to say so she stated the truth, "There will always be more battles somewhere..." she sighed, it was the sad truth but the truth anyhow.

"But that doesn't mean we would necessarily be fighting them together..." He was trying to keep steady eye contact and for how nervous he clearly was he was doing rather well, "I know that might sound strange... considering we haven't known each other very long but... I've come to... care for you..." There was a thud in her chest. It was loud. It was scary. "A great deal... I think maybe we've gone through so much together. I dunno, maybe I'm imagining it. Maybe I'm fooling myself..." Again there was that thump, Sabre could be heard in the background, barking, there was a grumbling and still clearly drunk Ser Gilmore too that wasn't helping calm her rapid heart beat. "Am I fooling myself?" He smirked while looking at her, "Or do you think you might ever feel the same way about me." He was so honest. She couldn't just look away from him. She took some deep breaths. She thought carefully. This was happening. It was very real.

"I don't know. It's to soon to say." She was worried, she was frightened, she hadn't felt like this before, someone other than her mothers set ups wanted her affection, she wasn't very skilled in romance at all, she was clumsy and foolish and now she was destined to die in the next few months.

He came closer, closer than friends do but she couldn't, she wouldn't, move away, "Well... is it to soon for this?" He whispered to her, he inched in closer again. His hand came up he ran it through her short hair until her head was cupped in his hand and he was bringing their faces closer. There was a part of her that wanted to scream that it was definitely to soon.

But as soon as his lips softly pressed against hers she realised that they had in fact been waiting too long. She cupped one of his cheeks with her hand and wrapped the other arm around him, they both embraced tightly placing soft kisses against each other for a minute. Learning boundaries and comforts for the first time.

He pulled away a little bit slowly breaking of the kiss before taking a whole step back and looking at her, her cheeks probably reddened, flushed from their kiss. Referring to his previous question she replied "I don't know. I need more testing to be sure." She replied cockily, she smirked at him. She had enjoyed that, more than she would ever tell him. She felt a small bubble of warmth build up. Alistair was precious. She knew that much.

As she said that he smirked at her, "Well then, I'll need to arrange that, wont I?" He asked responding to her statement. It was nice to see him regain some confidence from his previous nerves. He took a breath in and his face lit up into an adorable smile, "But Maker's breath you're beautiful... I am a lucky man." Her breath got caught in her throat at his words. They were so sweet and genuine that she couldn't help but smile at him.

He cleared his throat trying to change the topic, "Now lets get back to, ehm, what we were up to before or lest I forget why we are here." He reached out and took her hand again pulling her back towards camp, she covered her face with her hand and looked at the ground. She had no idea what to say or to do. But she was happy. She was happier than she could have ever dreamed in the situation she had been thrown into.
