"Why the hell did you act like that!?" Kurt fumed.

"What?!"

"This overprotective father thing, I love you dad but that was out of line!"

Kurt looked furious, sitting up in the hospital bed, he definitely wish this was a time he could storm off to his room and slam the door, it'd make a bigger impact of how he was feeling but the nurse had mentioned something about taking it easy even though it was just a shove in the locker, not as bad as some of the dumpster tosses although the most terrifying experience yet but Kurt was fine and didn't take well too taking it easy when he was frustrated.

Burt just looked confused and slightly guilty but not enough to back down as an authority figure.

"Oh that was out of line? How about acting like a family where we tell each other things, for one you could have told me you had a boyfriend and what he was like, your studies have been going down since you started that Zumba thing, and Cheerios don't think I haven't been seeing your grades on your desk and what happened prior to this event; this wouldn't have happened if you just would tell me more about what's going on with your life during school as we hardly talk anymore,"

"That's because I'm busy dad. High school isn't easy, I'm in the cheerios and I'm in glee club, because I need to do those things so I can get into NYADA and Zumba helps me with my capability skills in Zumba; Dad I still don't know the full grasp of what Blaine's been through but you intimidated him and made him feel bad about what he's gone through and I know he's a good guy, he'd never hurt me…he's amazing dad, I really like him,"

"Kurt I…"

"It's not even the fact that I was supposed to be on a date with him now, we're not boyfriends as far as I know; but he is a gentleman, he came looking for me…I would have talked to you about it before we went out tonight to see his friends you know I would have, but I didn't get a chance to even arrive home first because look where I am! The least you could do after he got me out is…"

"Kurt!" Burt shouted because when his son was on a lecture there was no stopping him.

Kurt finally stopped and looked at Burt; a look like he didn't want to be there but had no choice.

"I'm sorry okay? I didn't know … how did I know who he was when nobody told me about him until 10 minutes ago. I had to ask questions to get answers, be the father figure and test people and I didn't know what the guy was capable of if I've never seen him before? For all I knew he could be a badass as you kids call it in disguise. I don't distrust your opinion of Blaine, it's just that you could give me a heads up about the friends you have so I know who is who when something like this happens,"

"I didn't think it would escalate to this point, and I haven't known him that long," Kurt objected. Burt sighed heavily.

"Okay, okay…well what do you want me to do?"

"Maybe apologizing to him would be a good start, after I talk to him, can I ring him now?"

"You have his number?"

"Dad…"

"Okay! Call me when the coast is clear and I'm allowed to be in the same room, I'm gonna get a coffee you want one?"

Kurt nodded.

"I'm glad you're alright son, I'll talk to that school of yours tomorrow, you can stay home tomorrow too," Burt added patting his leg before leaving.

He rang Blaine as soon as his father left and waited 2 rings before the boy answered.

"Kurt?"

"Blaine! I'm so sorry my dad was all acting like that I swear he didn't mean to make you feel intimidated or anything…anyway I hope it's okay if we can still go out tonight, are your friends mad, the nurse said I can be discharged?"

"Relax Kurt, your dad had every right to ask those questions and be worried about you, you're amazing, and I understand his intentions but I don't think it's a good idea for you to come tonight…I'll go alone,"

Blaine lied. He wasn't going at all; he had already called Wes to know he couldn't come when Kurt was being taken to the hospital.

"I don't understand…" Kurt frowned feeling gutted. Blaine could hear Kurt's voice quiver and felt terrible.

"I'm really fine Blaine…,"

"You aren't," Blaine insisted.

Kurt felt himself getting angry, how dare he have a say in how he felt?

"What gives you the right to determine how I feel? I said I'm fine," Kurt replied not too kindly.

"I know…but I think it's best if you stay home," Blaine sounded firm and stressed and he wasn't sure what made him to change his mind.

"If you don't want to date me, just say it straight out Blaine, if the jocks can't break me you certainly can't," Kurt snapped "Thank you for getting me out, I hope you have a good night with your friends" he added through gritted teeth before hanging up.

The phone flashed to indicate a message

I really care about you okay? Get better soon. I'm sorry – Blaine

Yeah…so am I

Kurt thought bitterly. Blaine was too good for him anyway. He felt a tear escape as Burt came back with his coffee and saw Kurt's crestfallen expression asked what was wrong.

"Blaine doesn't want me to go with him tonight," Kurt shrugged with not much emotion.

"Maybe it's because he wants you to get better?"

Kurt shook his head because Blaine didn't disagree with him when he said Blaine didn't want to date him.

"I'm sorry son,"

"Why can't I have a guy like me, just once, why can't I have a guy walk down the hallway hand in hand, without being sneered at, why do people have to hate me so much," Kurt felt himself shake as his dad put his coffee on his bedside table so he could come round and hug his boy.

"I don't know Kurt, I really don't, but I sincerely hope you get all that one day; I love you, don't ever forget that and if Blaine can't see how good you are than to hell with him,"

But Burt didn't see how good Blaine was, and that's what made Kurt shed a few tears as he leaned his head on his father's shoulder and held on tight.

"Thanks dad,"

"Anytime kiddo,"

"I'd love you even more if you could buy me that winter's vogu…"

"Don't even think about it,"

Kurt huffed in disappointment as Burt laughed.

"Maybe for Christmas, if you behave and don't go seeing boys behind your old man's back"

Kurt groaned.

"I didn't sneak behind your back!"

"So you tell me,"

By the next Zumba class Kurt had been feeling guilty for the way he overreacted to Blaine after Blaine pretty much said he didn't want Kurt to go out on his date that day in the hospital.

Blaine had sent him flowers the next day with a get well soon teddy bear and Kurt had still refused to text or call Blaine even though Blaine had tried calling him and he ignored the boy being so stubborn but even Rachel managed to find out what was going on and pointed out to Kurt without shame that there wasn't many options for Kurt unless he wanted to try going after straight boys again.

Blaine had been gracious as ever and said he hoped to see Kurt soon with the flowers and how did Kurt repay him? So that's why he stopped by the studio and stepped inside shivering first closing his eyes in anticipation.

Will Blaine hate him for being such a selfish rude child? His answer soon arrived as Blaine stopped halfway into his dance when a look of absolute joy fell on Blaine's face as he saw Kurt watching in the back legs crossed over the other sitting elegantly in his marc Jacobs jacket, he had crept over to the back of the studio so he could watch before he had some time alone with Blaine and when the girls took a break of water he saw Blaine stare at him, Kurt hesitantly waved and smiled, immediately Blaine gently moved around the girls to get to over Kurt who stood up. Blaine hugged him and Kurt immediately welcomed the embrace.

"I didn't think you'd talk to me again," Blaine sighed happily as Kurt held on tightly and patted the other boy's back with his gloved hands. It was snowing and freezing outside.

"Dad doesn't want me to do Zumba for at least 3 weeks, but I came over to apologize for the way I acted,"

"No need, I should have explained more clearly can you wait till class is over though and we can talk over coffee, or do you have to go soon?"

"No, I can wait," Kurt assured as Blaine hugged him again.

"I'm so glad you came," Blaine pulled back and moved a hair out of Kurt's eyes, smiling as he looked over Kurt. Kurt was speechless.

"You look amazing,"

Blaine added before going back.

"Alright how's everyone doing?" Blaine called as Hillary answered "What happened to the Karaoke like last time?"

"Oh I see, you come to my classes just so you can hear me sing," Blaine responded as a few girls giggled. Kurt snorted in the back.

"Was that a challenge Hummel?" Blaine called from the front. Kurt hadn't realized how loud he had snorted.

"I am a countertenor…" Kurt grinned as all eyes fell on his face waiting for response.

"Well, I guess you're gonna have to help me out now you're so sure of yourself huh.."

Blaine winked at Kurt as he whispered into Mimi's ear.

Mimi grinned as she moved towards Kurt who was shaking his head "No I don't think so…"

Mimi grabbed his arm gently and tugged him to the front of the class, Mercedes whistled and he glared at her having not noticed his friend come in late.

"Blaine wants you to pick the song," Mimi talking a mile a minute about what cd they had as Kurt eyed Blaine talking to the girls through some warm ups.

Kurt watched as Blaine stretched his legs and bent his arms down to touch his toes on both feet showing a nice view of his torso, Blaine caught him looking quite intently so he was sure he was flushing and as though payback, Blaine moved his eyes down to Kurt's tight jeans letting his eyes stay there while holding his left foot as Kurt watched in torment for a few seconds before Blaine looked back up grinning as he stretched to the other side but not before wiggling his eyebrows at Kurt whose mouth was left hanging.

Blaine did not just stare openly at him.

Oh it is so on.

"Mimi, do you have any Christmas cds?" Kurt asked as Mimi nodded.

"Blaine has a whole collection! But here, have the 100 classics,"

Kurt thanked her as he looked at the back and read the description. Ahh perfect

"Can you play track 21?" Kurt requested as she nodded smirking when seeing what it was.

"Good choice,"

"I know," Kurt agreed.

When the warm up was finished she pressed play.

"I'm going to need some assistance from you Blaine,"

"Oooh, sounds promising," Blaine heard the music being played and smiled.

"I know some moves to this,"

Kurt (Blaine):
I really can't stay (But baby, it's cold outside) Blaine sang as he pouted and crisscrossed his legs around Kurt who stood in the middle
I've got to go away (But baby, it's cold outside)
This evening has been... (Been hoping that you'd drop in) ...so very nice Kurt purred (I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice) Blaine reached his hands out to pull at Kurt's glove
My mother will start to worry (Beautiful, what's your hurry?) Blaine shrugged

Blaine moved around Kurt as the girls watched the chemistry when they were meant to be copying Blaine who was

My father will be pacing the floor (Listen to the fireplace roar)
So really, I'd better scurry (Beautiful, please don't hurry)
But maybe just a half a drink more (Put some records on while I pour)
The neighbors might think (Baby, it's bad out there)
Say, what's in this drink? (No cabs to be had out there)
I wish I knew how... (Your eyes are like starlight now) ...to break the spell (I'll take your hat; your hair looks well)
I ought to say no, no, no, Sir (Mind if I move in closer?)
At least I'm gonna say that I tried (What's the sense in hurting my pride?)
I really can't stay (Baby, don't hold out)

Kurt and Blaine:
But Baby it's cold outside

Kurt (Blaine):
I simply must go (But, baby, it's cold outside)
The answer is no (But, baby, it's cold outside)
This welcome has been... (How lucky that you'd drop in) ...so nice and warm (Look out the window at that storm)

Mercedes got a camera out and started filming the two as Blaine moved even closer to Kurt and Kurt kept his eyes only on Blaine singing their hearts out. Blaine looked to Kurt's lips and it was as though no one else was in the room, a couple of jealous girls glared at Kurt but Meg nudged them out of it

My sister will be suspicious (Gosh, your lips look delicious)

My brother will be there at the door (Waves upon a tropical shore)
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious (Ooh, your lips are delicious)
But maybe just a cigarette more (Never such a blizzard before)
I've gotta get home (But baby, you'll freeze out there)
Say, lend me your coat (It's up to your knees out there)
You've really been grand (I thrill when you touch my hand)
But don't you see (How can you do this thing to me?)
There's bound to be talk tomorrow (Think about a lifelong sorrow)
At least there will be plenty implied (If you caught pneumonia and died)
I really can't stay (Get over that hold out)

Blaine and Kurt:
But Baby it's cold outside!

They finished of perfectly together, and Blaine found himself about to lean in and kiss Kurt but the room interrupted with cheers and Kurt was breathing heavily bowing by the end of it and declaring that he still thinks he's a better singer, but Blaine wins in the look department.

Blaine laughed it off but felt like disagreeing. You win by a million in the looks department.
