I'm sorry this took so long, I really wasn't happy with this chapter and I started studying again so I was just trying to make sure it was reasonably okay before I put it out here. I hope you enjoy this chapter!
I also need to do more research on the cancer thing, because the mother's story is based on my cousin who actually does have cancer, and recently I've been told she couldn't open her eyes and see anything, so I don't know what's going to happen and whether or not the mother's story will be based on what happens to my cousin I don't know. ~Author.
Kurt parked outside of the hospital in Westerville and glanced to Blaine who had been really quiet on the drive, he was worried about him. The way his usually concentrated face seemed to be drifted of into another world. When he smiled at Kurt it wasn't his usual bubbly smile, he could see it was really eating him.
"Well we're here," Kurt stated trying to ease the silence as Blaine replied with a quiet "Okay,"
He was also too quiet for his liking, his whole posture sort of changed and when Burt wasn't around it was as though he was relieved like he was no longer being judged and he was putting on a brave face.
He had noticed his shoulders relaxed when Burt left but not by much so when he put on his breaks and stopped the car he couldn't keep silent anymore "You okay?" He asked Blaine who just nodded in answer.
Kurt didn't say otherwise but wondered if he did anything wrong by agreeing to go with him whether Blaine wanted time on his own or if he was just thinking about the situation he didn't know.
Blaine hadn't disagreed with Burt's arrangement at the house, but still Kurt didn't want to impose on him. He already did so much for Kurt. Kurt tried to get Blaine to look at him but Blaine just shook his head and broke out into sobs. "I'm sorry," He sobbed.
"Hey don't be sorry, it's going to be okay," Kurt tried comforting him and trying to ignore the hurt he felt when Blain flinched as he went to touch his shoulder, like a quick hand over some flames he retreated his hand when Blaine shuffled to the side to avoid his hand. Kurt didn't say anything then and kept trying to stop himself from crying.
Blaine looked to him finally and his face looked distraught when seeing his upset look.
"I'm sorry," Blaine responded reaching out to stroke his cheek to wipe a tear that had escaped without Kurt's permission.
"It's just that you don't know that it is going to be okay," Blaine said like it was scientific fact. "What if she isn't? What if she dies, I'll be an orphan Kurt, and where will that leave me?"
"Blaine." Kurt said sternly surprised by the outburst but also keeping a straight face as he spoke quite effectively causing Blaine to look at him.
"What if she does die?" He repeated and the look on Blaine's face almost broke his heart but he needed to be the strong one of the duo right now, Blaine needed him whether he was going to admit it or not.
"I know you're scared," Kurt began choosing his words carefully and watching for any signs of rejection. Blaine looked down at his hands and fidgeted.
"I know how it feels. I lost my mother, and I sincerely hope she wins the fight, but we can't predict what's going to happen baby,"
Blaine twisted his head towards him at the pet name "I'm sorry Kurt, I didn't think…" he said about his mother/
"Hush, you did nothing wrong," Kurt told immediately looking slightly outside the window into the unforgiving territory which took his mother away. He stared at the hospital telling himself to be strong as he continued before looking back at Blaine's concerned face in the car "Of course you didn't know. What I'm saying is that you'll regret not having spent every moment that counts with her as alive. I know you love your mother, and you're worried that she'll die. My dad could die tomorrow. I know this sounds awful but we're all going to die one day. I know you think your brother doesn't have a right coming back into your life like he suddenly wanted to be there, but he was probably always there Blaine,"
Blaine didn't look convinced so he continued "people deal with illness differently, some people try to forget everything and pretend everything is okay, that's how I acted when my mother died so my dad wouldn't have to worry about me, perhaps that's why Cooper is acting the way you say he does, and then there's you, you're so worried about her that you're not actually enjoying being with her, it could also be due to the fact that we just got together and I could be in the way of that relationship you too need,"
"You're not," Blaine objected but Kurt cut him off.
"Don't argue with me. I would give anything in the world other than you and my father to be with my mother again, even just for an hour, so please, please cherish the time that you do have and stop worrying about the what if's and the future, anybody could die tomorrow, you know that, can I suggest something though?"
Blaine shrugged.
"Instead of worrying about me so much and about my weight, about Zumba and putting yourself into your work into your classes and being so concerned that it's breaking you…about everything … can you let us help you out for once? Let someone else take care of you for a change? I will be here for you Blaine if anything was to happen to your mother, don't think that I won't even if we're not boyfriends, but let us help you. My dad and I will happily pay for some of her bills, even if I help my dad at the garage but please just take a break from it for a while, enjoy being with her,"
"Okay," Blaine whispered and Kurt smiled at him. "I want her to meet you," Blaine added "You're not just a short time experiment you know? I want us to last,"
Kurt smiled at him eyes sparkling with tears. "Why do you think I'm here? You weren't expecting me to wait in the car were you?"
Blaine hiccupped as he laughed I love you," He told sincerely. They stared at each other for a while until Kurt finally answered back "I love you too,"
Blaine finally broke out into a grin unbuckling his seatbelt and leaned over the steering wheel so he could kiss him. His elbow ended up resting on the horn making the car beep which made Kurt laugh hysterically so to keep him quiet Blaine captured his lips in his. Blaine was shifting his arm to stop the car from beeping again so Kurt pulled him into his lap straddling him, holding onto his back as Blaine held his waist. Blaine gasped as Kurt responded with as much enthusiasm.
Blaine moved one hand to grip the neck of his hair and Kurt's opposite hand went to Blaine's cheek to hold him in place. They kissed for several minutes before Blaine sighed and Kurt let go with a smack leaning their foreheads on each other. As Blaine was leaning back his other elbow hit the car horn causing it to beep again and they couldn't help but laugh riotously.
"You're my teenage dream ," Kurt said after their laughter finally dialled down and Blaine sat back in his spot red in the face and trying to gain back his dignity as he smirked at Kurt. "I can use that song for the next Zumba lesson,"
Kurt reached overand smacked his arm.
"Blaine," He said half-hearted scowl as Blaine smirked. "Alright, I'll take it easy, so long as I get to feed you dinner,"
Kurt smiled "Deal,"
Kurt knew they could have said I love you in a more romantic setting but right now Blaine needed it for it to add to as much convincing of his support at that point than ever, and Kurt had been planning on telling him that night anyway.
"You're right," Blaine finally smiled and looked at Kurt with watery eyes. "I'm sorry about your mum and I'm sorry that I have to ruin our time together," Blaine cupped his cheek again before moving his finger to move over his bottom swollen kissed lip.
"I wouldn't consider it ruined," Kurt felt all tingly over as Blaine explored his finger on his face asnd B looked deeply into his blue eyes' his eyes crinkling, and his face showing no sign of annoyance for Kurt's lecture "But you could still take me shopping to show me how much you love me when we have that dinner?"
Blaine laughed as he nodded "Fair enough. I really do love you though Kurt. You're one of a kind," Blaine added as Kurt looked down shyly before whispering "I love you too,"
"Come on beautiful," Blaine said getting out of the car..
Kurt eyes widened as Blaine stared him up and down before getting out and winking at him.
"Coming…" Kurt gasped but Blaine got out of the car faster and rushed over to open his door for him. Kurt laughed as Blaine bowed at him and handed him his hand.
"Why thank you Charming," He grinned as Blaine rolled his eyes swinging their arms as they walked into the hospital. He stopped swinging when they walked in but kept his hold on Kurt's hand right to the point of meeting Cooper outside his mum's bedroom.
