It took Kurt a long time to go to school. He didn't even think twice about why Carole was acting strange and forcing him to eat his breakfast. He didn't think about why he took so long to eat his eggs on toast which he never usually ate as he sat down without complaint.

He didn't register the text he got from Mercedes asking if he was going to be able to make it to their last rehearsal before they left for New York. New York didn't seem real. Kurt didn't feel real. He felt like he was on an imaginary cloud where you had to force yourself to get up and do things because you had no choice. He just didn't care anymore. He was just so tired.

His head hurt from not getting enough sleep at night as the nightmares continued. His dreams seemed like an unrealistic desire and Blaine felt like a dream forever out of reach as they hadn't contacted in what feels like years and Kurt misses Blaine. He misses Blaine so much his heart aches, he looked at Blaine's face which was up in a big picture in his locker with the words courage underneath.

Kurt looked into those hazels eyes. Blaine was beautiful. He was everything he could have hoped for in a first kiss. So why did he feel so disgusted with himself?

Kurt felt an arm on his and before he had the chance to yell he was being pulled along his mouth was covered by a big strong hand as Karofsky was hovering over him. His eyes were burning into Kurt's as he spat "Did you tell anyone?" but he didn't let go of Kurt as though Kurt was able to run away being frozen to the spot as it was. Karofsky added;

"If you scream I'll make sure your last breathe is in the dumpster outside, got it?" Kurt nodded as much as he could with the big hand over his mouth. He almost choked as Karofsky let go and Kurt stared at his intruder with eyes wide and shaking his head. "No I didn't tell anyone,"

How could he?

"Good, because if you do. I'll kill you, and your pretty boyfriend you have in that picture too,"

Kurt felt his heart race. He had tried to keep Blaine safe by not talking to him.

Blaine had too much to deal with, with his own family and it wasn't that Kurt didn't want anything to do with Blaine anymore, he just wanted Blaine to be able to have time on his own and get his life sorted out.

Burt was also finally being happy with Carole coming into their lives and he didn't want to ruin that with his problems even though Finn annoyed him, he wasn't so bad but before Kurt could further worry about Blaine at what Karofsky had just said; Karofsky attached his lips to Kurt's the second time that week and Kurt felt like throwing up.

He let himself be kissed hungrily by his abuser.

The first time Kurt had been kissed by Karofsky when everybody was going home and he called him out to stand up for himself. Karofsky had grabbed his face and kissed him hard. "God you turn me on," He fumed as though that was why he was so angry at Kurt all the time. He had let Kurt go and left.

Kurt hadn't been able to confront anyone about it, he thought that would be the only time it happened as Karofsky said not to tell anyone with a note being passed to him in class.

He had been acting strange sense then. Only Mercedes seemed to noticed as she was constantly making sure she was with him. Except that week she wasn't there.

Nobody else noticed. Nobody saw the assault. It was against Kurt's wishes and he felt violated.

When Karofsky went to touch his private part, something in Kurt finally snapped.

"Courage…" Blaine's voice ran into his head.

He pushed his knee up in the middle of Karofsky's legs who screamed out in pain "You asshole!"

"Don't touch me!"

"Just try and stop me Hummel, I'm stronger than you are,"

He replied "Bite me," He tried not to think about the way Karofsky replied in a husky voice "I bet you'd like that wouldn't you, faggot" As he ran away. He ran out of the building ignoring the strange looks he received as tears fell from his eyes.

He didn't care that it was second class still. He didn't care that he would get yelled at home. He couldn't stay there.

So when Burt got a call to say his son missed class well Blaine didn't think he ever remembered Burt with a disappointed face but today he witnessed it. Burt had been showing Blaine everything about the shop and had given Blaine his own uniform with his name on it when Carole interrupted them in the middle of a customer saying it was a call from the school.

"Yes Shuester, I'll call later. Thanks, no yes I understand that he can't compete in New York, I'm sorry I don't know what's gotten to him lately, yeah I'll talk to him,"

"What?!" Blaine exploded as Burt shh'd him.

"No Burt, they can't. He worked too hard for that," Blaine tried to say but again Burt shh'd him with his finger.

What the hell was going on? Blaine wondered. Kurt couldn't hurt a fly, so he couldn't imagine him attacking someone unless it was self defence and they should know by now Kurt has a sassy side to him. He stood there looking lost and sad for the boy he loved, hating the fact he was missing so much on what was going on in the other boy's life and from what he's heard from Mercedes, things have changed since he last saw him.

"What happened?" Blaine was finally able to ask as Burt sighed and put the phone down.

"Shuester had seen Kurt running out of school. He seemed mad as he shoved people to get out apparently, and they get the feeling he's the reason why Mercedes also wasn't there today. Principal Figgins had suspended Kurt for 2 weeks,"

"No…but he wanted to go to New York so badly," Blaine said sadly.

"I know, I don't know what to do anymore kid. He's been acting weird,"

"Can you give me a moment?" Blaine asked as Burt nodded..

He felt it was all his fault, and he couldn't breathe as he walked out of the garage. Maybe if he had just tried harder to make Kurt realise that it had been a mistake to let him go, Kurt would be okay. He'd be healthy and still going to New York and Mercedes and Kurt would be having a good year…

And then Kurt arrived. Tears streaming down his face.

"Kurt?" He called.

Kurt didn't hear him. He was parking his car in the driveway and Blaine got worried as Kurt closed his eyes tears falling harder. Kurt was aiming for the stirring wheel but he missed and it kept going towards a pole.

Blaine rushed over yelling "KURT!"

The car hit the pole all too quickly and the next thing Blaine knew Burt was running out of the garage as an Ambulance was called from Carole inside.

"Kurt!"
