Percy's POV

I stare at the ceiling of my bedroom as I think over the day. My happiness for Annabeth's high score was short lived after we found out Luke Castellan was a tribute. How is he a tribute? Was he even at the Reaping? After Annabeth found out, she went into her bedroom and slammed the door shut. I haven't even heard anything from her bedroom. I tried to open the door to check on her, but the door was locked. She probably just needs time to think things over.

But who wouldn't? I sigh, closing my eyes and hoping to get some sleep. Tomorrow the tributes are going to interviewed, and then the day after that- the arena.

The next day..

Nico's POV

My stylist, Lahara, desperately tries to figure out how she can make me look appealing for today's interview.

"Maybe you could wear something casual! To show that District 11 is a home to all?" Lahara asks me, silently begging me to go along with it.

I shrug, "Sure. Doesn't sound bad."

Lahara sighs with relief, "Okay, good. Maybe you wear something you would wear to work?" Work? I'm guessing you would have to be a farmer in District 11, so jeans and t-shirt?

I tell her what I'm thinking, and she nods, "That's not a bad idea at all! You're clever, Nico. But it can't look like you're untidy. Maybe a green jacket along with black jeans and a white t-shirt?"

"And is Thalia going to wear something similar?" I ask. She hasn't said much since she found out about Luke, and I'm really worried about her. I don't know how's she's going to react about seeing Luke at the interviews today. I wonder how Annabeth's taking it..

"Probably not, Thalia's stylist and I don't agree on much, now here," Lahara shoves my outfit into my hands, "Go get dressed."

At the interviews..

Thalia's POV

"..Good luck, Clove!" Caesar Flickerman shows Clove off to the Capitol one last time before he gets ready for the next interview.

Nico and I sit in next to Katniss and Peeta as we wait for the rest of the tributes to be interviewed.

Katniss, who's wearing a red dress that reminds me of fire, looks over at me, "Have you and Nico allied with anyone, Thalia?"

I shake my head, "No, it's just us and District Four. We decided we didn't want anyone who could betray us."

Katniss doesn't reply for a minute, "So did Peeta and I."

I realize how Katniss must have taken that, and correct myself, "We're not saying you and Peeta are like that, we know you aren't. A lot of tributes are, though."

"Tell me about it."

I look over at Nico, silently asking him if we should them to be our allies. He nods and gestures for me to did it myself. I roll my eyes and look back over at Katniss, "Hey, Katniss?"

She looks over at me with questioning eyes, "Yes?"

"Would you consider being our allies? Along with District Four, of course."

Katniss pauses and looks over at Peeta, then back at me, "Sure."

"Really? Great!" I smile and look over at the TV in front of us that shows the interviews in the next room. The District Three female is nearing the end of her interview, and Percy's interview is getting closer and closer.

"Hey, isn't Percy next?" Nico asks from next to me.

I nod, "And then Annabeth, and then.." I trail off as I remember that Luke's one of the tributes. It's obvious to me that we're going to have to kill Luke to survive. Could I do it when the time comes?

Nico nudges me, "It's Percy's turn."

Percy's POV

"Welcome the District Four male tribute, Perseus Jackson, to the Capitol!" Caesar Flickerman exclaims. I politely shake his hand and sit in the seat next to him.

"So Perseus, you look like an outgoing young man. What do you in District Four?" Caesar asks me, turned to face both me and the crowd.

District Four's the fishing district so.. "I love to swim. When I'm not out fishing, I'm swimming for hours at end," I reply, and I was only half lying. Being the son of Poseidon, I love being in the water. Fishing, not so much. I think the reasons are pretty obvious.

"As anyone in District Four would be. On another topic, is there any special girl back at the Districts, Perseus?"

I pause, "Yes, there is. There's my smart, wonderful girlfriend, Annabeth Chase. I couldn't imagine being with anyone else." And it was totally true. I couldn't possibly imagine being with anyone but Annabeth.

The crowd awes, and so does Caesar. "I'm not surprised. But, if I'm not mistaken, your girlfriend is also a tribute?"

"Yes, she's a volunteer." I couldn't say who Annabeth volunteered for, because I really don't remember. I remember hearing some sort of cry of relief, though.

"And so are you. Why did you volunteer when you knew your girlfriend was already a tribute? Only one tribute can become a victor," Caesar reminds me, as if he thought I'd forgotten.

"I wanted to be there to protect her. I couldn't possibly stand around and watch her through a TV. I'll give my life up to save her if I have to," And, again, that was true. Though that obviously wasn't why I volunteered, I would give my life for Annabeth in a heartbeat.

"Well, Perseus," Caesar says and stands up, turning to the crowd, with me following after, "I wish you the best of luck. Audience, Perseus Jackson, the District Four male tribute!"

I turn and walk backstage as Caesar begins to introduce Annabeth to the audience.
