Author's note: The long long overdue final chapter to the Cavallone story. I may do an extra chapter for the honeymoon, but I haven't decided. Reviews are always appreciated. Hope you enjoy and thank you for reading!
Wedding
I sat in the waiting room, my heart thumping. Today would be the day I get married. I looked at my reflection in the mirror of the vanity. My white dress flowed close to the floor. A ballgown style dress, it had a bow in the back and frills over the top layer. My veil was already put in place in my hair. The bouquet sat on the dresser of the vanity. I caught a glimpse of my engagement ring. I was nervous, but now was not the time to get cold feet. I loved him. That's why I said yes to him when he proposed. There was a knock on the door.
"Come in," I said.
The door opened and Kyoko's head popped in followed by Haru's.
"Oh my goodness! You look so beautiful," said Kyoko. Haru agreed and gushed over my dress.
"Thank you. You both look so beautiful in your dresses as well." I smiled. They both wore pink formal dresses, a single white flower pinned on their right side.
The whole Vongola family was invited to the Cavallone wedding. Some were even participating. There weren't many people besides Dino and Romario that I knew, especially female. Kyoko and Haru both were the maids of honor. I couldn't just pick one of them. There was another knock at the door.
"Who is it?" I called out.
"They said it's almost time," said a small Chinese girl, as she stepped through the door.
"I-Pin!" I was the one to gush now, "You look so adorable."
"Xie, Xie," she said and bowed. She was the flower girl. Her dress had pink flowers on it and she wore a white, pink, and blue flower headdress. Fuuta was the ring bearer.
"Well, I guess we better go," said Haru, "See you at the altar."
They all left, leaving me alone in a pool of anxiety and adrenaline. The music began, muffled in the room, and my heart raced faster. I picked up the bouquet and went to the door. I walked down the aisle toward the sanctuary doors where the others were crowded. They didn't notice me as the ceremony began. I saw Fuuta and I-Pin walk down the aisle. Dino, then, the bridesmaids, Kyoko, Haru, Bianchi, Lal Mirch, followed by Chrome. After the bridesmaids came Dino's subordinates, Tsuna, Gokudera, Romario, Reborn, and Kyoya, trailing behind.
The music changed to the wedding march as I approached the door. Everyone stood up and turned their heads to the aisle, as I walked past. I glanced at the crowd. There were many faces I didn't recognize, but who I knew to be Dino's subordinates and Tsuna's family. I looked ahead to the alter. I smiled at the sight of Dino, tears welling up at the corner of my eyes. Dino looked so handsome, a radiant smile on his face that made my heart melt. With each step, his smile radiated more. The lights in the room created a halo around his blond hair.
I reached the altar, and Dino took my hands. The priest approached us and continued the ceremony. My eyes never left Dino. We exchanged vows and rings. Then came the closing.
"Do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do," Dino said. My heart skipped a beat.
"And do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do," I said.
"By the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Our lips met and the music sprang into life. We walked down the aisle hand in hand into the hall.
"You look beautiful," he said smiling, "How are you feeling?"
"Like the happiest girl in the world," I said, glowing, "You look so handsome."
"Thank you," he said and kissed me again.
We walked to the reception room, hands intertwined. Dino almost tripped on his feet several times. We were greeted with a shower of compliments and congratulations. We sat down in our seats as the reception dinner was served. Dino stood up and clinked his champagne glass with a fork. The excited chatter of the guests hushed.
"I'd just like to say thank you very much for coming to our wedding," he said, "We are both very happy that you were able to make it."
Everyone clapped and cheered as he sat down. The dinner proceeded with lively conversation, music and dancing. For the newlywed couple's dance, Dino tripped at almost every move. I caught him each time as he lost his footing. I smiled as he laughed at his clumsiness.
