Percy's POV

Once the four of us are well into the forest and away from the chaos of the Cornucopia, everyone sighs a breath of relief at the surprising success of the trip. Anything could have gone wrong at any moment, so we're lucky we're all okay.

"Did you get the medicine?" Nico asks as we approach him and Peeta. He has his back against the bark of a tree, his leg out in front of him. It doesn't look like it's bleeding, but it might become infected if we don't treat it.

Beside me, Annabeth nods, "Yeah, right here." She holds up the District Eleven Bag, and Nico immediately looks like the weight of the world was lifted from his shoulders.

"Are you all okay? I heard cannons and I thought…," He trails off, looking at the ground.

"Two tributes, probably district partners, attacked us. We… killed them," I reply, shifting my weight. Just as I do, one more cannon goes off, along with the sound of a scream. It's from behind us, closer than the Cornucopia is but still far away. Someone must have tried to run or something.

"We should start helping Nico's leg now," Thalia says, looking over at Annabeth. "Can I do it?"

Annabeth looks at the girl for a moment, probably wondering why she would volunteer, but still hands over the bag, "Sure."

Thalia kneels next to Nico, opening the bag and looking in at the contents. There probably isn't much, but she doesn't look worried. Actually, she looks the total opposite, like she knows exactly what she needs to do and she's going to do it.

She uses her dagger to cut away my shirt, which was wrapped around his leg in place of bandages. His wound, even though it may be small, looks extremely painful. There's a small gash on his lower leg, not bleeding, but surrounded by dried up blood. It might be around half an inch thick. Honestly, I'm not even sure how he could even walk.

Thalia doesn't seem fazed though, possibly because she has the situation under control or she's just seen a lot of injuries in her life time. She takes out a small bottle filled with cream and dips her finger in, spreading it across Nico's wound. He twitches in pain, his breath hitching, "Do you have to do that?"

Thalia nods, "It'll help clean your wound and close it. This pain will only last a moment, while the pain you'll feel if we don't do this will be much longer, and much more painful."

Nico nods, his teeth clenched. He closes his eyes and rests his head against the tree, trying to handle the pain. After a second, he slowly opens his eyes and breaths a breath of relief. "That feels much better," He says, sounding like he was tired.

After Thalia makes sure Nico's wounds won't get infected, she uses the bandages the bag provided to wrap around his injury. "There," She says finally, sitting back, "I'm done."

"Thank you, Thalia," Nico says, looking at her with a look of something I can't pinpoint. I almost don't notice, but he holds Thalia's hand and rubs his thumb over the top.

"No problem," She replies. "But all of this will be for nothing if you don't rest." He sighs and nods, closing his eyes again and falling asleep quickly.

After a moment, I turn to Annabeth, "What's in the District Four bag?"

She shrugs, "Only one way to find out." She opens the bag, putting her hand inside. She immediately pulls it out, yelping. Looking at her hand, she says, "Throwing knives. Five of them."

"Do you know how to use them?" Katniss asks, speaking up for the first time.

Annabeth nods, "Yeah, I learned when I was younger. What's in your bag, Katniss?"

Katniss opens her bag, looking inside. A second later, she says, "A packet of food."

As Katniss and Annabeth talk, I notice Thalia, who's sitting next to Nico, looking around, almost like she saw something. I go up and sit next to her, and, leaning in close, ask, "What are you looking at?"

She gasps, probably because I scared her, but relaxes quickly. She shakes her head, "I just… Never mind, I'm just being stupid."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I mean, I thought I saw something, no, someone, but it must be my eyes playing tricks on me."

Luke's POV

Gripping my dagger tightly, I watch as Thalia talks to Percy. She almost saw me as I ran from one tree to another, but she wasn't fast enough. Part of me wishes she would have seen me, just so I could get rid of her group faster. The other part of me knows that's stupid, though. The only way I'll be able to kill them is by getting them in separate places, one at a time, eliminating one target after another.

I try to get closer to the group, closer so that I can hear what they're saying. Just as I'm about to run to a closer tree, I step on a twig, which makes a loud cracking noise. I watch as Percy stands up, looking around, his hand on his sword. I quickly duck behind the tree as Percy looks over to where I am.

I almost breathe a sigh of relief as he turns away, but I know I'm not in the clear yet. I still have a long way to go before I've won.
