His finger pulled the trigger, and the gun screamed its release, sending a glowing green bullet through the air. It sliced through its path, hard and angry, imbedding itself into weakened and no longer invulnerable skin.
Lex stepped forward after motioning for Mercy to keep back, kneeling down to the alien's level and pressing the cold metal where a human's heart would've been. Furious but desperate green eyes tried to burn him as it's body breathed heavily, and years ago, Lex might have been scalded by the fire.
Now, instead, Lex simply pulled the trigger and proudly saved the world.
