I know that I have taken things
I've taken things I had for granted
"A Sight To Behold," Eisley

The longer he had been gone, the farther away he seemed, the more she dove into her sweet memories of him. Even the sad ones, the ones she hated, seemed comforting now - even though he had left her stranded and alone, she knew that everything would turn out fine. He'd get back to her or die trying, and she hoped with everything in her that it wouldn't be the latter.
It was odd - so many of those memories had been insignificant when they'd happened, yet now she cherished them. They were all she had of the past, all she could cling to as the world seemed to cave in around her. Not once did she long to be innocent and free again, though - losing him for a time would save the world, she knew, and she clung to that thought.
