Filius Flitwick had never heard anything like this before. He immediately joined in the conversation going on, "Albus, is this the boy that is not going to attend Charms?" he asked the venerable wizard.
Minerva looked confused and looked at Albus who nodded, "Yes Filius, Mr Grey is the one I was talking about."
"What am I hearing Albus, you allowed him to skip classes?" Minerva McGonagall could accept many things but blatant breaking of rules was not one of them.
"He is a genius Minerva and his reasons for not attending the lessons are completely logical. I had thought I had sent you a note telling you the same."
Severus Snape,"His academic performance has nothing to do with the show of blatant favouritism."
"He can perform the patronus charm at the age of 11. I am sure you just heard Minerva tell us he can cast magic that is beyond NEWT level and you think he should be with first years, we have to flexible in how we deal with students." Albus added and then he stated, "He is only here because him and I have an agreement that required me doing him this as a favour and in return he would do me a favour."
Minerva said, "So what classes is he not going to attend ?"
"Transfiguration, charms and DADA is what we agreed upon that he would not need."
Minerva's eyes lit up, "Is he a transfiguration prodigy as well?"
"No, he has zero aptitude for the difficult art of transfiguration. The boy has tried." Minerva completely deflated at that.
Severus sighed and muttered, "So I have to teach another dunderhead." then he shrugged, "Well, not like life has ever been fair."

Nate was thinking about his visit to the room of requirement. He had to study languages and the best way to learn a language he could think up was to consume it in media or things you enjoy.
He was going to learn Greek and Sanskrit first. Sanskrit was famous for its literature and stories, while Greek would help him read about Greek Philosophy. He wanted to read about morality and philosophy in general, his massive row with his family had put into perspective that he might not be as correct and firm in his ideologies as he had previously believed himself to be.
He knew saying that you would kill someone and killing someone are two completely different things. He was not naive but was he wrong in thinking that he would kill those that would fight him, he would not kill the innocent but why should the ministry's laws apply to him when he could topple the ministry itself.
The Ministry was designed in such a way that the Wizengamot held all the power and if tomorrow those weaklings decided that Nate was guilty of a crime, he would be chucked in a cell in Azkaban without a fair trial.
His freedom did not matter to the ministry.
The British Ministry laws and trials were governed truly by the Wizengamot which had an Aristocratic form of inheritance but since they could add seats and remove them as well, it could be argued as an Oligarchy. The ministry was completely under the thumb of the Wizengamot in ways of laws. The government was never truly democratic in nature. The position for Minister Of Magic was. The Minister's greatest power was decrees. He could pass rudimentary laws and present them in the Wizengamot where if they remained unchallenged for a period, they would become laws.
The Ministry presented itself as a Democratic Beurcracy but was completely under the thumbs of a few families.
Nate knew he was an inherently powerful variable that would threaten this balance. The current Minister Of Magic, Cornelius Fudge was an insecure moron who as soon as he got a whiff of Nate's abilities would either consider him an enemy or a young boy to be manipulated. This was one of his smaller reasons to come to Hogwarts.
If the Wizengamot decided that he was a tyrannical monster, he would be the next coming of Gellert Grindelwald in the eyes of the British Wizarding Population.
Wizards like himself, Dumbledore, Grindelwald and Voldemort will always come into conflict with the Ministry. The only reason Dumbledore is confined to Hogwarts is that he believes he is not fit for power.
Voldemort was an evil mad man that Nate could not make heads or tails of. The man killed for the sake of killing.
Nate did not know enough about Grindelwald to declare him evil immediately but Dumbledore actively fighting the man indicated that Grindelwald was either evil or too radical in the application of force.
The only wizard among those Nate could even begin to agree to the ideology of was Grindelwald, the idea that Wizards are superior was not wrong in Nate's eyes, he did not believe in pureblood ideologies but he could quite clearly say that he was superior to a non-magical in capability but does one's inherent potential for destruction make one more suited to human rights, Nate did not believe so either. He was in a philosophical dilemma.
It was something to ponder upon.
As Nate was eating and thinking, somebody behind him called out his name, "Mr Grey."
He looked back and saw his head of house ,"Yes, Professor?"
She handed him a piece of paper," That was the time table. I have been told you will not be taking a few classes."
He nodded curtly before he added," Yes Professor, Dumbledore and I have an understanding."
"What will you be doing during this time?"
"I will be of course learning new languages. I plan on studying Greek and Sanskrit because I am trying to look into some tomes of magic that are exclusively in those languages."
"Why not use the translation charm?"
"Because it is inaccurate. It gets you the general idea but the magic I am pursuing is pretty specific." Nate was happy to part with such information because nobody could know he was studying Time.
"I hope it is not something that would be dangerous."
Nate's eyes narrowed as he answered, "Of course not professor."
"Have a good day then Mr Grey."
