Hitting

Colby rested his head on the passenger door of the Charger. He and David had spent the last hour and a half parked in front of a suspect's house.

"I think we're running out of things to talk about." David started bringing his cup of coffee to his lips.

Colby lifted his head from the door and looked at him. "So seen anything new on TV lately?" He shrugged as David gave him a look.

"Nope."

"Been too busy with Warner, huh?" Colby teased.

David laughed as he shook his head. "Man, you never change. What about you?"

"No, just usually watch a game with Don, while Charlie and Amita do some statistical analysis; or I play chess with Alan." He said playing with the lid of his cup.

"Speaking of games, Granger," David said with a smirk.

"Yeah. What about them?"

"Do you and Charlie have a designated hitter or do you switch hit?"

David couldn't contain his laughter as the contents of Colby's coffee were sprayed all over the dashboard as he turned a deep shade of red.

"David, what's the… why would you ask me that?" Colby whined facing David as he cleaned his mess up.

David merely shrugged. "It gave us something to talk about. So do you?"

"No, that's totally off limits. I don't go asking about you and Liz?"

"You just finished saying something?"

"That's totally different."

"Oh come on, it's just a question." Colby glared at him hoping he would drop it. "You gonna tell me?"

Shaking his head, he saw David with a "Come on" look.

"Sinclair, you are impossible. We switch hit, there you happy!"

"Ha I knew it." Colby looked at him. "Megan and Liz so owe me."

Before Colby could ask, their suspect came running out of the house.

Okay so this was random but I was somewhat inspired by the ep Black Swan in season 4 when they're in a stakeout and they run out of things to talk about.
