Quant à Edward, il garde du Jour Promis un goût amer : privé de son alchimie, il s'acharne à trouver une solution pour la retrouver au point d'en changer de temporalité.

"Oui, je le veux". Roy Mustang ne s'imaginait jamais prononcer un jour ces mots, pourtant pour l'avenir de sa famille, mais surtout par son propre intérêt personnel, il accepte un mariage arrangé... Il se retrouve coincé avec celle qui est désormais "sa" femme pour 365 jours. [UA]

Edward has rejoined the military as an adult to provide to a stable income for his growing family. Amestris is at peace with its neighbors. However, when disturbing reports come from Drachma concerning famine, the Amestrian military is allowed to provide food assistance. Once there, a far darker secret is uncovered.

Roy thought he should snap out of it, help Ed, but he was distracted. Distracted by the thin, golden thread curling around his left wrist. He followed it with his eyes, followed as it softly flowed from him to Ed, curling around his right wrist. A thread so thin, intangible. It was light itself, glowing in the moonlight as it connected him and Ed. Connected their souls. [RoyEd]

Et si le jour promis c'était révélé être une immense défaite pour Edward et ses compagnons. Si rien ne c'était passé comme prévu. Comment Edward aurait pu rattraper cette immense catastrophe?

Cela faisait longtemps que le Jour Promis était derrière eux. Pourtant, Edward n'arrivait toujours pas à trouver la paix. Il était donc revenu à Central pour se remettre à avancer, pour faire ce qui lui tenait à cœur. Et pour ça, les forces spéciales semblaient être une bonne solution.
