My Turn
I watch you day in,
day out.
Everyone else gets a turn.
Everyone has your
attention,
While I stand here and wait patiently for my turn to
claim your attention.
My turn to give you a smile,
My turn
to hold you tight,
My turn to be what you need,
My turn just to
have you for a while.
Twilight
The
sun sets slowly,
taking the day with it.
Another day, another
small eternity.
Just after day,
just before the night.
The
safest time of day, appeals to us.
Sleeping
I
stand in the corner,
and you in the bed.
Sleeping so
peacefully,
all alone in your bed.
In a swift movement I
am kneeling by your side,
taking in your dormant features, with my
nocturnal eyes.
You look so beautiful,
outdoing the stars in
the sky.
You look so perfect, I can't resist a touch,
tracing
my finger along your lips.
You move and my hand
disappears,
holding my breath, to see if you wake.
To my
greatest luck, you just stir,
rolling over, still dreaming, I'm
sure.
So I rise slowly and silently, moving back to my
corner,
watching you still, as the sun rises.
