Zhou Xianglin was a law-abiding and respectful subject. Loyal to her superiors, too. As such, what a strange concept a coup d'état was to her. Rising against the highest order was something she would never have done had Xingke not opened her eyes to the inequities their Empress had to deal with. This girl wished for nothing more than easing her people's suffering, (the real state of which the High Eunuchs concealed from her); nothing more than marrying someone she loved, (despite all advantages of a political marriage). A soul as pure as this, Xianglin decided, deserved to be free.
