Kelsi sat in the piano in the empty music room, staring at the blank music sheet in front of her. Tears burn her eyes and she swallowed hard to avoid showing too much emotion.
Ryan rushed in. He took a deep breath when he saw her shaking shoulders from behind. He fled to sit next to her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into him. He cupped the back of her head and stroked her hair back. "He's okay," he assured.
Kelsi sobbed on his chest, gripping onto the stomach of his shirt. She shook her head, "He's dying."
Ryan rocked her gently, "He's fine. Just take deep breaths, Kiki."
Kelsi took an unstable breath and shook in his arms with a loud sob.
Ryan sighed heavily, "I'm here. I got you."
Kelsi nodded, finally getting a hold of herself and wiped at her eyes with the back of her hand. She looked up at him and pecked him on the cheek. "He will be. Thank you," she said softly.
Ryan smiled, cupping her cheek. "I'm always here for you."
