Chapter 16; Changes and Chances

May cried; she didn't want to let Drew know who she really was.

She had seen the looks of disgust on his face, as soon as he noticed who she was.

She ran even faster; to get away from the boy's heart she knew she'd probably crushed for a second time.

'I can't even face him', May snickered ironically at her pun.

She ran into the cave she had seen before. Inside she pressed herself against the cavern-wall, when she heard hurried steps.

"MAY! Dammit!" she heard Drew's voice call for her.

"MAY!!!" he shouted.

'Go away, please Drew, just go away' May prayed silently.

Finally May heard the footsteps get softer and every now and then a call with her name. She felt terrible she deceived Drew this way but her mind told her she had no choice.

She couldn't speak to Drew as herself; not with that mark on her face ((A/N ARGG!! She's WAY OVERREACTING))

She entered the cave even further, hoping she could get to the other side of the mountain quicker. Besides; Drew was searching for her outside. Probably to shout at her for disappearing, but then he would mock her because of her face.

And just when she realized she did feel something for him. Or she was going insane, which would probably be a better explanation.

The cave seemed to continue endlessly.

May stopped her running but then she heard a soft sound; 'It sounds like...singing' she thought. It sounded like there was a choir singing a song, words in a language from long ago, the meaning probably by everyone forgotten.

It awoke May's curiosity, and she followed the sound.

A sudden light blinded her; "WHY ARE YOU HERE?" a voice asked.

May looked around but didn't see anything; "I-I just came here on ac-c-cident" she stuttered.

"THEN YOU MUST DISAPPEAR" May shivered. "Yes I will leave directly"

"IT'S TOO LATE FOR THAT" the voice yelled, echo's coming from all sides. May gulped.

"Argh I'm not good in this" the voices said, while a small figure appeared; the owner of the voice.

"Hey, I'm Vovori" he introduced himself. May smiled at the cheerful creature; "I'm May" she said herself.

Vovori jumped around in the air like a three-year old child on sugar-high.

But then he silenced and a solemn look came over his face, and even though May had thought a second before he was just like a child, now he looked like an old man who had seen too much to be good for him.

"But seriously, why are you here?" he asked.

May frowned; "I came here on accident, as I said. I ran away from....someone" she glanced at the exit of the cave and bit away her tears. They almost started to fall again with the thought about the agony of Drew.

Vovori looked amused for one moment but then his amused smile disappeared seeing the pain of the young girl.

"And why may I ask?"

May reached for her face, her scar in particular; "Because of this"

Vovori soared down and touched her face slightly; "You know, I can heal...."

"Yes I know" May said, and closed her eyes; "and I know the price you have to pay".

Vovori sighed; "Well If you don't want it..." May frowned. It was so easy. It would solve everything; she could be May again and regain her glory. 'And I can face Drew again' she thought.

"I have decided, I'll do it"

Vovori nodded and started muttering.

"true love....restoration.....lost..." a light started surrounding him. And May started glowing too.

"MAY! DON'T" a scream filled the cave.

Me: "And guys; have you figured it out already"

Drew; "You do realize we're going to sit here forever. And besides that; when that time comes May will have driven me nuts"

May: "DO NOT"

Drew: "DO TOO"

Me: "Yep completely nuts, Next time I'll go straight to the story, and give these idiots more time to think. Something else; please look at my profile page and vote on the poll so I'll know which story you want to be the next one.
