Kaia sat in the back of the van with her hands cuffed she sat on her legs while she looked down at the floor how long has it been since she was taken from her school an hour or two or maybe it was longer then that she wasn't really thinking about the time that she sat in that van she was only thinking about Kiba and how she hopped that he'd listen to her and left seeing that he didn't run after the truck when it left meant that he did listen to her. A sigh escaped her lips it was a sigh of relief she was happy that he'd left and that he was safe but she couldn't help but feel sad. When the van left it didn't cross her mind that, that would be the last time she saw Kiba she didn't care all she cared was that he was safe. Then van soon came into a stop the man who opened the door nodded for her to get out and she followed without out hesitation. After exiting the van she was then escorted inside a very large building which looked like a police department to her.
She was then guided through some hallways by a few guards with guns. Kaia being the curious person she was, just began to take in the scenery and was looking through cracks of doors they past by. When they past by another room, Kaia took a look and stopped walking, only to get hit behind by a guard. "Stop dawdling." He commanded. Although it was just a hit behind the head it was strong enough to drop Kaia to her knees. "Get your ass up and move now you bitch." The guard commanded but when Kaia didn't move except she just rubbed the back of her head she then heard the guard sigh annoyed and then that's when she felt the tip of his gun pressing on to her shoulder. Clenching her fist Kaia through the corner of her eye glared at the guard who just glared right back. He then pushed the tip of his gun into her shoulder much harder. Ok that was it Kaia just about had it she was now pushed over the edge. Placing her hands on the floor making it look like she was going to stand up she leaned forward and back kicked the guard in the groin. When she heard the guard squeal like a little girl and drop on the floor a smirked curled on her lips. When she sat back down she looked over her shoulder and saw the guard in fetal position with his hand holding onto his crotch.
Kaia heard the other gun being pointed at her when she looked up at the other guard she was surprised to see him trying to hold back his laughs but after a minute he began to laugh with tears falling from his eyes. Kaia didn't know weather to be scared that the gun was being pointed to her face or be happy that even the guard found was she did was funny. But nothing could ever make her smile knowing what she saw in that one open door, getting up the image on what she saw stuck in her head "They were…frozen…they…the wolfs….were…frozen" Kaia quietly said to her self. She squeezed her eyes shut and clenched her fist as she walked down the hallways of the building "Kiba….please….be safe." Kaia thought to herself. After a while they stopped her at a cell and slid it open. Un-cuffing her hands instead of letting her walk in they pushed her. After being shoved in she nearly tripped on her self she clenched her fist and ran up to the bars of the cell. "Hey listen ass hole but just because I'm and accused fucking prisoner doesn't mean you have to act like a needle dick and push me around you pansy asshole." Kaia glared at the guard who stopped and also clenched his fist but the other guard who just patted him on the back telling him to just ignore her "Don't worry Jagura will take care of her remember." With that being said he guided him away from the cell. Wait a minute what did me mean by " Will take care of her?" she had a bad feeling in her gut but sighing what the hell could she do, Kaia heard movement in the cell and turned around where she could see people hiding in the dark.
When she took a closer look she saw that they were just poor people who were arrested for probably stealing food or clothing in order to survive the harsh weather or something. She took a step forward when she did they took a step back so she took a step back it was obvious that they didn't want her near them so she sat down hold her book bag in her arms. Looking over at the small crowd of people she saw that many of the poor had blankets covering they're cold bodies when she looked over to the left she saw a woman holding her seven year old son in her arms trying to keep him warm. The small boy looked over at Kaia and they're eyes connected. The small boy got out of his mothers arms and began to walk over to Kaia with his mother telling him to come back to her. The small boy stopped in front of Kaia and smiled at her and she returned the smile he then sat next to her and rested his head on her arm and it wasn't a moment latter that he fell asleep. Kaia blushed slightly seeing this small boy sleeping on her arm. Smiling she wrapped her arms around him bringing him to her so he sat on her lap and rested his head on her shoulder she took off her book bag and took out a blanket that she would normally use when she was on the bus to keep her warm, she took it and placed it over the small boy who just snuggled into it. Giggling a little at the boy's reaction to the blanket Kaia looked up at his mother who looked back with a surprised look on her face. Kaia nodded her head telling her that it was ok for her to come over, and come over she did the woman sat next to Kaia and she gave her the sleeping boy snuggled into the pink and blue fluffy blanket.
"He's very cute how old is he?" Kaia asked the lady, the lady held her baby boy in her arms looking down at him with a sweet motherly smile on her face then looked up at Kaia. "He's seven right now he'll be eight in just a few months. Thank you for the blanket he was very cold." The woman said to Kaia, Kaia smiled and nodded her head, while looking at the small boy she noticed that his mother was shivering slightly she was cold no doubt. Kaia looked at the other people in the cell they all had blankets but she figured they didn't share with the mother and the child and that just pissed Kaia off big time. So she took off her winter coat and handed it over to the lady who just gave Kaia a look. "Here go ahead take. Its almost Christmas right? Well let this be my early Christmas gift from me to you." Kaia smiled at the lady, the woman just gave Kaia a look and a tear rolled down her face. She gladly took the coat from Kaia's hand but gave her a smile but this smile was a smile of thanking and relief. With the mother having a coat and her baby boy having a blanket to keep himself warm Kaia was happy for the first time through out that day.
After a few hours of sitting next to the small family Kaia heard foot steps coming down the hall toward the cell ok now she was scared. Just then the woman with the child in her arms sat in front of Kaia hiding her, she looked at the woman shaking her head but the woman also looked back at her. "Hush now this is the least that I can do for you helping me and my baby boy." The woman said turning her head to look away from Kaia. "What wait don't do this if they find out that you helped hiding me then you'll get in trouble." Kaia said to the woman but the woman didn't look back at her but sat where she was. "You were the first person to show me and my boy acts of kindness this is the least that I can do for you I cant allow them to take such a sweet girl away." Before Kaia could continue to argue with the woman the steps became louder and louder Kaia ducked her self behind the woman. When the foot -steps came to a stop Kaia's heart- beat became faster and faster but when she heard the door to the cell open her heart skipped a beat and she squeezed her eyes shut. She heard the cell door close but then she heard the echoes of foot- steps walking around the cell. The steps walked over to the woman and for a minute the woman didn't move until she did. Kaia felt abandoned Kaia still had her eyes closed her heart- beat growing faster by the minute when she felt someone grab her arms Kaia began to struggle desperate to get out of this person grasp but when he pulled her up to stand she continued to struggle that was until she felt him wrap his arms around her in a what wait a hug?
Kaia's eyes shot open, who was this guy why was he hugging her when she was about to push him away that's when she heard a familiar voice "I found you Kaia." The man said holding her close to him. Kaia pushed him a little to see his face. "K-Kiba?! what….what are you doing here?" Kaia asked the brown haired blue eyed man standing in front of her. Kiba looked at her "I wasn't going to let them take you away Kaia. I came back to get you away from this place. I will protect you." Although Kaia smiled at him she looked down and sank her head into his chest Kiba just looked down at her.
"Kaia we shou-"
"You idiot…." The brown haired brown-eyed girl quietly said as tears fell from her eyes
Kiba looked at her surprised "Kaia?"
"You IDIOT why did you come back!" She said. "Why did you come back for me I would have been fine Kiba. Kiba you idiot." She pounded his chest. "Don't you get it? If you hadn't have come then you would be safe right now. You idiot why did you came back to save me!" She sobbed. "Don't you get it? Its you that they're after if they find out what you are then they're going to kill how could I forgive my self if anything ever happened you to you huh Kba!" Suddenly, her body went limp, almost like liquid. Kiba found that he couldn't keep her upright. It was like she was boneless. "Oh, Kiba." She sobbed, sliding to the ground. Since he couldn't hold onto her, Kiba went down with her. He ended up sitting and she ended up on his lap, silent sobs wracking her body. There were both tears and anger along with concern. He could feel it emanating off of her in waves. That's why, as a wolf, he tried to never let people too close even in his pack he never let anybody get close to him. Now knowing that Kaia was crying because of his doing tarred him apart inside.
"Did you really want me to leave you Kaia?" He asked gently. She nodded against his leg. Kiba felt pain stab through his heart seeing her cry was painful for him but why? "Kaia…do…do you hate me?" His voice was still gentle, even though the feelings inside of him weren't. "You think..." She looked up at. "No Kiba I don't hate you." Her sobs had dissipated into little hiccups. "Kiba I could never hate you. I don't Kiba and I never will." Kiba's and Kaia's eyes met "Then you dont..." And then he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her. Kaia's cheeks flamed.
But she didn't pull away from him and closed her eyes for some reason to her this felt so right but at the same time this felt kina wrong. When the hugged ended Kaia looked up at Kiba. He smiled at her and brushed her hair behind her ear. "Maybe I can help you stop crying." Kiba said, slowly closing in on her. She knew what he was going to do. She could see it in his eyes before he even said those last words. And for a moment, she wanted him to. Any other day she would have done something to stop him. But right now the comfort would be welcome. They moved closer to each other Kaia saw Kiba close his eyes and she followed in closing her eyes. She could feel his hot breath hitting her lips. Kaia then heard a giggle coming from behind her opening her eyes a little then her eyes widened when she saw everybody looking at the couples she had already forgot that she wasn't the only one in the cell. She looked back at Kiba his lips only a half an inch away from hers Kaia's face turned a dark red. "W-WAIT KIBA YOU PERVERTED ANIMAL NOT HERE NOT HERE!" Kaia said pushing him away from her. Kiba fell back and groaned then he looked behind Kaia and saw the people staring at them.
Standing Kiba did understand why Kaia would stop them from continuing he stretched his hand down to her. Grabbing his hand he pulled her up to stand looking at her he nodded to tell her that he understood but he wasn't happy. Then something snapped in his head, what did he almost do? He almost kissed a HUMAN all his life he despised all humans and would avoid them or even kill them but he would only do so when they posed a threat to him. So why did he almost kiss her. Did he was there a slight chance that he was falling in love with her he didn't know. All that was on his mind was getting Kaia away from this place. He walked over to the cell bars and easily bent them wide enough for them to escape through. Kiba turned around and looked at Kaia and the others who followed her to the door. "We need to help them escape to Kiba I cant just leave them here." Kaia said looking up at her white wolf, Kiba sighed but nodded his head with a small smile on his face.
He just crawled through the hole on the cell door and got out along with Kaia. He motioned the others to follow and they did quickly. He pointed to everyone except Kaia. "I want all of you to escape through the vents, they can't reach you there. Once you escape, go to an old building on the north its big enough to give you all shelter and heat" Kiba said. The small boy looked at Kaia and Kiba curiously. "What about you?" He asked. Kaia gave him a smile and covered his neck with part of the blanket "It's ok we'll be fine don't worry but right now you all need to leave." Kaia said to them, the people took no time to question them again and was already making their way to one of the nearest vents. Kiba turned to Kaia who was looking at him, "Kiba we're going to be the decoy right." Kiba didn't say anything, he gently grabbed her hand and rushed off down the corridor. Kiba stopped at a corner he turned his head a little around the corner to study the guards around the corner, luckily one of them bid the other goodbye before leaving.
"Kaia…"
"Yes…?" His partner looked up at him questionably.
"Stay here…"
Kiba quickly ran around the corner, Kaia heard a punch and a thump Kaia looked around the corner and up at Kiba who was standing over the unconscious body of another guard she came by, the white wolf couldn't kill the man seeing as blood on the floor would cause suspicion. Kiba was currently looking through the man's wallet before he turned to Kaia and tossed it over to her. She caught it with one hand. "Check if that's all you need." Kiba said and Kaia nodded before beginning to look through the wallet. "Let's see…" The brown haired girl muttered as she began flipping through the folds of the wallet. "Four hundred dollars, his ID card, and some sort of card which probably is a card key. Cool, he also has a pass for any restaurant or buffet!" Kiba rolled his eyes but smiled at the girl who cheered and watched as she turned the coupon over and read the back. "It seems it won't expire till five more years…wow, this has to be the longest expiration date ever. Good thing the guy just acquired this a few days ago." Kaia said looking at the paper wide eye. "Good, then that means you won't be starving anytime soon." Kiba said before he picked up the unconscious man and threw him into the storage room. "That's kind of cruel…" Kaia winced as she saw Kiba closed the door of the storage room and locking it from the outside. Kiba didn't say anything but just shrugged at her before moving on. There were so many corridors that Kaia could almost get lost in them if it wasn't for Kiba's nose, he had a better sense on how to get out of the place and around it.
Soon the three stopped in front of a door. "Give me the card." Kiba asked Kaia, motioning to the card slot on the wall. Kaia nodded and picked through the wallet before handing it the white wolf. Kiba took the card and slid through the slot, the red light turned green and the door opened with a hiss. Quickly he pulled Kaia into the room and closed the door behind Kaia was overjoyed thinking that she was finally out of that place until. The sound of barking began to echo through the room it was deafening now causing Kiba cringe but Kaia had to cover her ears. "So many dogs…" Kaia muttered though it was muffled through the loud barks of the canines that began throwing themselves against the cage they were in. Kiba took a look at the dog's appearances, their eyes were bleary and they tried attacking them through cage like wild animals. Kiba gritted his teeth. "These…things aren't normal." He thought before turning to Kaia. "Cover your ears and eyes." He yelled over the barking, Kaia nodded and turned to face the door with her eyes close and her ears covered by her hands. Even with her ears covered she could still hear what was going on.
The sound of barking now was replaced with yelping, tearing, blood splattering against the walls and floor. Even through the midst of it all Kaia could hear it, the sounds itself caused her to shiver in fright. The echoing sounds of dogs wailing filled through the room causing shudders to rack through her very being. "Dog slaughter…" Kaia couldn't help but think. Soon the sounds within the room ceased and Kaia couldn't help but give a shaky sigh, she didn't dare to turn around and see the blood that was splattered against the room. She uncovered her ears and now covered her nose as the metallic smell of blood filled the room. "Ugh, what is this smell? It smells like blood but…rusted metal?" She wondered. Kiba who was standing amongst the mid of the bodies of dogs looked up at Kaia; his eyes soften as he noticed her body shaking. He was glad that she didn't uncover her ears or else it would sound even more frightening than before. From what he knew, Kaia didn't see death a lot. Kiba sighed and crinkled his nose up a bit; the smell of the blood was horrible. Of course, he knew why. Kiba looked down at one of 'dogs' he killed. He was surprise that some of them were actually wolves. Bending down, he picked through the remains of the wolf that he killed.
He sliced at the thick skin of the wolf's head. Blood stained Kiba's hands but he didn't care, the rusty smell of metal was coming from the head and he needed to find out what it was. Kiba noted in between the fur was a scar, he went to check the other wolves and they had the same scar on their heads. Now he was curious, Kiba walked back to the wolf he was cutting up. Once he broke through the skin, he was surprise to see the one side of the skull broken. Kiba held his breathe as the smell became worse. He cut through the skin of the head more and his eyes widen when he looked through the opening of the skull. "…Half of the brain…it's firmly connected with the metal." Kiba thought as he stood up and wiped his hands off a canine nearby. It was strange, why the heck was the rusted metal there in the first place? The thing was practically eating at the brain cells of the wolf. The scar…it was on all of the wolves he looked at, Kiba gritted his teeth in anger. His blood was boiling up in rage when everything clicked. "They were experimented on!" He growled and was about to check to see if the dogs were the same way but Kaia's voice broke out through the room.
"K-Kiba…?" Kaia called out since she didn't hear him say anything after a while. "Can we leave…?" Kiba looked at her guilty, he could hear the plea within her voice but otherwise he walked over to her. Kaia stopped covering her nose and held onto Kiba's hand, not caring if they got bloody. She just wanted to get out, quickly. Kiba understood and held the door open for Kaia to walk out first. Once they got out, Kiba locked the door and Kaia took a deep breathe at the clean air. Kiba looked at Kaia and wondered if he should tell her about his discovery but he kept quiet, he didn't want to worry her now. Kiba pulled at her hand causing Kaia to look at him curiously. "We're leaving." Kiba said urgently, they needed to get out NOW.
"INTRUDER ALERT, INTRUDER ALERT!!"
Kiba and Kaia stopped running as red lights blared throughout the hallways. Kiba gritted his teeth before he began pulling Kaia into another corridor as some guards were coming their way. He was relived when he spotted a ventilation shaft and he went over to it, giving one good pull, he broke the metal and dropped it near his feet "…Quickly!" Kiba said and Kaia went over to the air duct. Kiba helped her get in. He was about to enter next but bullets fired and it nearly hit Kiba if he didn't jump back. "Kiba!" Kaia called worriedly as she heard the gunshots.
Kiba growled at the guards that were pointing guns at him. "Leave now!" Kiba ordered at her before he ran down the hall, guns firing after him. Kaia didn't argue anymore and began crawling through the air duct; After a while Kaia made it to the exit and kicked the vent open so she could get out. "It almost looks like a junk yard…" Kaia said as she looked around at the rubble. There was a sound of a glass breaking and Kaia looked back to see Kiba jumping out of the window which was close to six stories up. However he didn't have trouble with the height, mostly he had trouble with the gunshots being fired at him as he began making his way down the rubble towards Kaia. When he landed near her, Kaia saw the wound on Kiba's shoulder. "Kiba you're bleeding!" She exclaimed but Kiba grabbed her hand. "Not now!" Kiba gritted as he pulled her after him. Kiba and Kaia disappeared from site as the sirens continued blaring throughout the building. Kaia looked up at Kiba "Kiba where are we going?" The brown haired brown eyed girl asked Kiba who continued to pull her as he ran "We have to get back to your place." Kiba said. Before Cecelia could reply, she found herself thrown over Kiba's shoulder. . "What are you-whoa!" She gave a startled gasp as Kiba leapt height off the ground and landed on rooftop. He resumed running and Kaia looked back at him. "What are you, superman!?" She shouted at him. Kiba just looked back at her and smirked.
He looked back forward and was about to jump off the building but skid to a stop. "Dammit…" He gritted his teeth. "What is it?" Kaia asked trying to look over his and her shoulder. "Nobles…" He muttered. He was currently looking down at Kaia's apartment which currently had a bunch of troops and dogs scavenging her house. "They had more those things followed my trail back to your apartment…" Kiba muttered before taking off in a different direction. Kaia looked at her apartment, getting a better look at what they were doing. She then turned to Kiba. "Where are we going now?" She asked. Kiba didn't look at her and continued on to the place he was going, after a few minutes, he stopped. "You have some money with you right?" He questioned. Kaia looked at him perplexed but otherwise nodded. "Yeah…why?" She asked.
"Book us a one way ticket to the next town."
"What!?" Kaia exclaimed in shock, she looked behind her due to difficulty since she was being fireman carried by Kiba. She gapped when she saw the train station nearby. "Are you crazy? I can't just leave town like this!? It's hard enough already to find a job!" She said glaring at him. Kiba looked back at her. "Kaia if we don leave then you're going to get arrested by those nobles for nursing a wolf." He said letting her down from his shoulders.
He watched her pout and glare at him angrily before crossing her arms, she knew she was screwed. Kaia sighed angrily and glared at Kiba who just looked back at her, sighing she nodded her head she knew he was right. Kiba then picked her up again. Once they got close enough to the station, Kiba jumped down off the roof and left Kaia down so they could walk in normally. "At least the nobles haven't gotten here yet…" Kaia said as she looked around, there were many people coming and going through the station. Kiba didn't reply and just looked around in distaste at the bunch of humans. "I'll be back real quick…" Kaia said before she ran off towards the ticket booth. Kiba just stood there with his arms crossed and looked around. He spotted a group of nobles making their way towards the station. "Shit…" He growled.
"Kiba!"
Kiba looked back to see Kaia waving for him over towards a nearby train that looked like it was ready to leave. "Hurry up! I took the fastest one leaving!" She said. Kiba nodded and ran towards her; he jumped up on the lift and walked through the train door as Kaia backed up for him to enter. Once he entered, Kaia locked the door quickly. "The nobles are here…" Kiba stated as he looked outside the window. Kaia gave a fake wince as if saying 'that's bad'. "Come on train, if they get any closer, they might order a stop." She muttered. The train gave a small lurch forward and Kaia couldn't help but sigh in relief that the train was going. "Close…" She muttered before watching as the nobles began arguing with the station manager.
She held onto a nearby pole and turned to look at Kiba who was settling himself onto the seats of the train. He lay down onto his back and placed his hands underneath his head, there was plenty of room seeing as the passenger car was empty. Kaia sighed before making sure that all doors were locked as for other people not to intrude so Kiba could rest. She turned around and noticed that he became a wolf again.
Kaia walked over to Kiba and sat near his curled up body, she placed a hand underneath his head and lay it on her lap she then placed her hand onto his head and began scratching his ears. Kiba opened his eyes and looked at her before closing them again.
"Kiba…thank you for coming back for me…." Cecelia said as she remembered the rescue
"…I wasn't…just going to leave you there Kaia." Kiba said, now allowing himself to be heard clear for Kaia to understand him in this form. She smiled and rubbed his ears which fluttered underneath her hand. "Kiba…why are you so worried about me? Why are you do concerned about me?" Kaia asked wondering.
Kiba looked up at her and turned away. "I was afraid…I thought I'd never see you again." Kiba said in his head to embarrassed to say it out loud.
Kaia smiled at him before patting his head. "Don't worry you don't have to tell me Kiba. I'm sure you'll tell me when your good and ready." She said. Kiba looked at her as she continued smiling at him. "…thank you..." He said before closing his eyes and letting Kaia hands lull him to sleep. As he lull him to sleep he nuzzled his head on her lap
He was always told humans were bad.
But for once, he couldn't help but stay by her side.
OOC: WOW things are heating up between Kiba and Kaia. But wait is Kiba starting to have feelings for a human for Kaia but do you think Kaia will have the same feelings towards him IDK find out in the next chapter of "THE UNKNOWN HISTORY" until then bye bye for now
