Chapter 2: Panic
"I'm sorry, but what did you say?" Mike asked
"I don't know" Liz said.
"But you said that you loved me. Is that true?" Mike asked.
Liz felt panic taking over her body. Her tongue was dry and thick, and she couldn't speak. Her brain pumped in so enormous amounts of information that she couldn't sort any of it out. For seconds her eyes went black and her heart rate escalated.
"Oh my God, what is happening to me?" Liz thought.
"Liz?" Mike said. "Are you not feeling alright?"
Minutes passed by as Mike waited for Liz to answer.
"I'm not feeling too well" Liz said.
Suddenly Liz fell out of her chair and landed on the floor with large thud. Mike ran to her and lifted her head up. Her pupils were dilated and her mouth was wideopen. He had seen this kind of reaction before and so he knew what was happening to Liz now. She was having a panic attack. Mike called for an ambulance, and after about ten minutes, Liz was on her way to the nearest hospital.
While riding in the ambulance, holding Liz's hand, Mike thought heavily.
"Does she really love me? And did I cause her panic attack?" Mike thought.
A numb feeling spread across Mike's solar plexus. Suddenly Mike collapsed, too, and millions of stars were shining above his head.
"Is this what heaven looks like?" Mike asked himself.
The sirens of the ambulance sounded like a song from paradise.
