There was silence for over five minutes as Jack analiysed what Tru had said.

"Pregnant?" Jack finally said, making the one word sound like a question. She couldn't be pregnant, because that would mean it could be his, unless she'd had sex with anyone else in the last month. That thought alone made him want to puke, thinking of Tru with another guy...he hated it. Sighing, Tru looked up from the ground, straight into Jack's eyes.

"It's yours," She whispered quietly. Jack started shaking his head. Most of him was happy that he now had a connection to Tru, it meant that she wasn't impregnated by another guy. It was him. His baby. His little boy or little girl who Tru carried. But he didn't want to accept that, or at least, part of him didn't.

"No," He muttered, loud enough for Tru to be able to hear, "No, it can't be!" Tru looked back down at the ground for a moment but then straightened up. Looking at Jack, she frowned.

"Hey, you're the one who just told me to accept that we had sex," Shaking her head, Tru continued "You cannot say that and then act this way. We had sex. Fine, i admit it, i don't like admiting it but its the truth. Now you have to deal with the fact that i'm pregnat...and i'm not getting rid of it."

Tru was surprising herself as she spoke. The words just walked out of her mouth, almost no force resisting at all apart from that tiny part of her mind, of her heart that would not accpet that she betrayed her side and slept with the enemy.

Jack stared at her. Part of hi wanting to walk away, part of him, a part he was starting to hate since it was that which got him into this whole mess in the first place, wanted to embrace her and wipe that lost look off of her face and out of her eyes.

He knew he shouldn't. Knew that holding her would just bring them closer together and that wasn't aloud. It couldn't happen.

Yet even as the thoughts plowed through his brain, he was reaching out, taking her into his arms and enfolding her in his warm presence. Keeping her safe from all the things that wanted to hurt her and the the one thing that had succeeded.

"Oh, Tru," He murmered "How did this happen to us?"

"Well, if i remember correctly, you were the one who didn't want protection, you convinced me," Tru muttered back, still slightly angry and very pissed off but relaxed as Jack held her. Sighing into the warm shoulder that was pressed against her cheek. The warmth seemed to keep her safe, as if as long as she was basking in Jack's glow, she'd be fine, she'd be healthy...she'd be loved.

A less then polite snort left Jack's mouth as he shook his head. "Yeah," He grinned, "But do you remember how exactly i convinced you...if you don't, i could always show you again,"

Tru shoved him away as soon as he said it. Hating the fact that she wanted what he was saying. She remembered and she wanted. And she hated it.

"Why, Jack?" She asked, shaking her head, "Why do that? We were fine, why did you have to go and say something like that?"

Jack studied her for a moment. Looking into her eyes, memorising her body language. Eventualy Tru relaxed and Jack gave out a smug smile.

"I think you're angry because you want it," He suddenly said and Tru jumped, startled that he'd got it in one guess. Jack grinned, seeing the surprise on Tru's face, watching as Tru opened her mouth, proberbly to deny it. So he interupted her by stepping forward and taking her hands.

"But just as you had to accept that was had sex. And i had to accept the pregnancy that was caused by it. We both have to accept that no matter how much you want it, or doubt it," Jack paused, smiling a rare, genuine happy smile, "I'm not going anywhere. I will not let you face this alone, and thats final"
