A/N: Sorry for OOCness.
Itachi twitched as he walked into his room, immediatly backing out, coughing. "Good God, Deidara....what did you blow up this time....?" Putting a hand over his mouth, he stepped over the debris, wood scattered on the floor, the scent of smoke in the air. Stepping over a broken log, his gray eyes widened as he stepped into something oily and wet. Oily and wet....he looked down, trying to see what covered his sandals. Whatever it was, it was dark - he stopped suddenly, a metallic scent drifting upwards into his nostrils. He inhaled sharply. Somebody who'd killed so much over the years would know that scent instantly - it was the scent of blood. He stiffened slightly, looking over somewhat out of the corners of his eyes. His breath hitched when he saw what was giving off the scent. It was like flying through a tunnel at top speed afterwards, and when Itachi awoke, he was yelling rather loudly.
Deidara awoke quickly, turning to face Itachi. He sat up, looking confused. "Itachi.. Itachi...!" He yelled, trying to ask what was wrong. "Itachi, whats wrong..?" He asked, reaching out and touching his shoulder.
When the realization that he was awake and Deidara was alive hit him, he fell back so his head touched the headboard. This was why he didn't sleep beyond dreamless catnaps - if he slept soundly, nightmares plauged him. He was shaking slightly, and he turned his gaze to Deidara, tearing up slightly.
Deidara's eyes widend some when he saw small tears in Itachi's eyes. "I... Itachi..." He scooted close to him, wrapping his arms protectively around him. "Itachi... Whats wrong?" He asked. "Are you okay..?"
Itachi merely took in a very shaky breath, then nodded slightly. "...yes...I-...I'm fine...." He then took Deidara into his own arms, resting his head on top of the blonde's. It took a moment, but he eventually rested his hands on Deidara's stomach, then buried his face in his hair and sobbed quietly.
Deidara remained quiet, his eyes widening considerably. After a moment, he frowned, face turning to a sympathetic expression. "Itachi..." He said quietly. It was slowly dawning on him that Itachi had had another nightmare. He always did when he slept soundly. "Itachi... what happend... in your dream?" He asked, slowly bringing his arms around the man. "Please tell me what happend..."
"...you...you d-died...!" His voice rose at the end of the sentence, and he took in another watery breath. It took a few moments, but eventually his hyperventilating stopped, and he merely brothe in Deidara's earthy scent. His bloodshot pale eyes eventually flickered downwards to the lump in Deidara's shirt. "...it's...it's not kicking...that's.....that's odd...."
Deidara held Itachi's head, holding his cheeks with his hands, and gave him a sad smile. "Hold on..." He reached with one hand, took one of Itachi's, and gently pressed into his stomach. After a few moments of silence, there was a flutter, and then a kick in the direction of Itachi's hand.
Itachi let out another small sob, the last remnants of the dream leaving his mind. He took in one breath, then smiled slightly. "Thank you, Deidara....." He sighed, blinking. "I don't believe I will be going back to bed now."
Deidara smiled, nodding with understandment. "I'll stay up with you, if you want me too..." His smiled turned sheepish. "I don't know how long I'll last, but... I'll try, if you want..."
"It's okay....if you fall asleep, I won't care...." It took twenty minutes for Deidara to fall asleep. The rest of the night passed with Itachi merely curled around Deidara's body, arms wrapped around him protectively.
