6 Treasure of Luna
- Broken pieces
Again, Elva winced. Again her eyes met his intense gaze. Since the day – he became alliance of Storm hawks –, Elva always found herself at the end of the Dark Ace's stare. It was uncomfortable, rather intimidating. She didn't know what to do, but she knew she had to bring this subject before it could get worse.
"Stop starring! Or else, I will pluck out your eyes!"
Listening to her, Dark Ace started to burst out laughing so hard; it was unexpected. She had never seen him so happy or excited?
"Ah – You always remind me of someone that I knew in the past.."
She couldn't understand. Was I similar to his lover or something?
"Um.. that is little bit creepy and to think of it, I am pretty sure Eileen will pluck out your eyes first before I do it..."
Suddenly, the Dark Ace jerked. This reaction made everyone surprised.
"What DID YOU SAY?"
"Huh? Ah.. you mean creepy?"
"NO"
"Urg... then Eileen? My mother?"
"Mother? And your father is Keith... Keith Renalind... Eileen Renalind...Isn't that right..."
Now, it was her turn to jerk.
"How did you know THAT?! Are you.. are you What the hell?"
His eyes were glaring at this new information. Everyone was doing other things, although they all quietly listened to what was going on between the Dark Ace and Elva. Seeing both of them getting tensed, Aerrow interrupted with his friendly smile to break the tension or to find out what was going on. He looked at the Dark Ace and looked at Elva.
"Can you tell me what is going on here, either of you.."
"Ha... Hahahahahahahahah. That was why... that was why"
It seemed the Dark Ace finally lost himself or sounded more like the Master Cyclonis' sarcastic laughter which made everyone's hair stand on end. He pressed his mouth over her ear; his mouth was so close to her ear, that she could feel his breathe on her neck.
"YOU are daughter of Eileen and YOU are one of the last descendants of the original Storm Hawks...YOU and Aerrow... Ironic... "
The new information was really disturbing. She knew she was not from this world or had anything to do with this world. She was totally bewildered. Everyone on the condor couldn't hear what the Dark Ace told Elva, but from her reaction, they knew it wasn't good.
.
.
Wait, if my mom, Eileen and Keith is from this world, Atmos.. and they are the Original Storm Hawks... why did I end up on the earth? Not here.. with Aerrow? and why didn't I have any memories at all? More confusing thing is that my parents kept those secrets from me? Why? Was that anything to do with the car accident? But that means.. something was chasing after my parents? And finally something got my parents? Or else.. was it just a normal car accident? Why.. and why now? Why am I here NOW? Not before?
Millions of thoughts were passing her: questions after questions, but questions with no answers. While she was gazed in spaces for hours dumbfounded, Starling talked to the Dark Ace about what happened before. The Dark Ace, looking away from her, slowly started to talk in pain. Starling could see the pain inside the Dark Ace's eyes. She somehow knew that talking about his past was still hard for him, although he tried to act like the Dark Ace; he was back to Ace, not the one who always sought for bloodshed.
"I suppose, you know that I was the member of the original Storm Hawks..and that Aerrow's parents and Elva's parents were one of them... And there was Elizabeth, Eileen's older twin sister whom I was madly in love with..."
He couldn't finish the story. Once cold-hearted, and bloodthirsty man, now stood here tear streaming down from his cheek: miserable looking. Starling didn't force him to speak, but still surprised how he opened up so fast, after learning whom Elva's mother was. She figured that Elva reminded goodness of him before turning to the Dark Ace.
.
"Elva?"
She heard the voice, but right now, she did have nothing to say but silence. Even though she didn't say come in, Aerrow opened the door anyways.
"Sorry to interrupt you, but I was concerned how you were doing.. and to tell you that you could talk to me about anything.."
She nodded, but didn't look at his eyes. She just couldn't deal with his intent look which always made her forget what she was thinking; those beautiful emerald eyes made her go mad. But he didn't allow that to happen. Aerrow, like before sat down in front her in order to look at her eyes straight. She winced seeing his eyes in front of her.
"Talk to me, Elva. Tell me what is going on exactly. What happened between you and the Dark Ace? Did he do something to you? If he did, I would kick his..."
She chopped off his sentence
"I – I am also a descendant of the Original Storm Hawks."
"What DID you say?"
"My parents were the members of Original Storm Hawks..."
"You mean..."
This time it was her – looking at his eyes attentively –, now it was time for Aerrow to be surprised. He jerked.
"So, you are saying I am not the only one? I don't have to think that I am left all alone in this world?"
That was what he was thinking for the whole time? She was slightly shocked that he felt himself as a lonely person although he had so many friends who cared about him? This wasn't like usual Aerrow. Maybe this information comforted him that he doesn't have to be responsible for reusing the name, Storm Hawks. I don't know, but he seems very excited for sure.
"Well, if that was what you were thinking, make it two. I am also one who is responsible, I guess.."
Unexpectedly, Aerrow hugged her. Now her mind was messed up. Feeling his heartbeat seriously was not a great idea since Elva still couldn't figure out why her temperature was rising – she felt hot. Though Aerrow would like to stay in this position for a while, this little interaction moment got interrupted by Finn and Piper.
"Elva, could we come – Oh, I am SOOOOOO sorry!"
Finn apologized, but there was nothing to apologize that was what Elva was thinking. I mean hugging is just making someone comfortable and if I were Aerrow, I would do it to a girl as well.. What was wrong about hugging between boy and girl? Is there something else than just a friendship hugging? I mean possibly if Aerrow were... seriously, Elva you think so? Elva you know that Aerrow cherishes Piper more than me and everyone knows it too... it's not like that is going to change or something
Elva smiled at Finn.
"Finn, it was friendship hugging. You don't have to apologize for interrupting it."
Elva didn't notice Aerrow slightly stiffening, but Piper did. As soon as they got out of her room, Piper grabbed Aerrow's arm dragging him to the corner of the hallway.
"Please be honest, since I know you too well."
Confused, Aerrow nodded.
"Can you say there was nothing more than just a hugging?"
This time, he couldn't nod.
