After a quick glance at the clock, Regina realized that she hadn't slept long, pulled the covers over her head and screamed angrily into her pillow. Not only had she gotten far too little sleep, but her sleep had also been very restless, so that she had not been allowed a minute's rest.

Since it was only 5 o'clock in the morning, she tried to fall asleep again, but gave up the attempt after ten minutes. She flipped the covers aside, dragged herself down the stairs to the kitchen, only to find that she had no more coffee in the house. So Regina decided to go to Granny's as soon as it opened, but until then she had to wait another 50 minutes.

Annoyed, she drags herself to the bathroom, takes off her silk sleeping robe and stands under the shower. Feeling the cold water, on your skin, usually helps her perk up a bit, but even now after the shower she doesn't feel any better. Regina is completely exhausted, because she hasn't slept properly for weeks.

She tried to cover her dark circles with concealer, but when that didn't work either, she wiped the makeup off her face again and tied her hair into a tight braid. This made her look a little less done up, even if the traces of lack of sleep and strength were clearly visible.

She decided she didn't care, no one would be out and about in town at this hour anyway, and certainly not at Grannys.

Regina

I shrug my shoulders and go into the bedroom. There I look for a dark red blouse and a black skirt from my closet, put both on and slip into my black high heels on the way down. I take my keys from the dresser, put on my jacket and go outside.

After locking the front door, I slowly stroll down the streets until I'm in front of Grannys, which has just opened.

Once inside, I immediately notice the comforting smell of coffee, but there was something else. Somehow it smells like cinnamon in here. I think nothing more of it and go to the counter. Shortly after, Granny, as everyone here calls the owner of the bistro, comes out of the kitchen. When she sees me, she just nods and disappears into the kitchen again, while I make myself comfortable on the stool in front of me. It doesn't take a minute until Granny comes back and puts a cup of my beloved coffee in front of me. Confused, I look at her. I hadn't ordered anything yet. She shrugs her shoulders and smiles slightly. "You look like you could use the coffee."

"Thanks." I say, smiling slightly, even though I'm uncomfortable with Granny seeing my tiredness.

Just as I take a sip of soothing coffee, I hear a voice, very familiar to me, talking softly. However, I cannot understand exactly what she is saying.

And there is already the face to the voice. There stands Emma. Emma, with her dark, tight jeans, a white top and her red leather jacket that she always walks around with. I notice how my gaze lingers on her lips. How I wish I knew what your lips would feel like on mine..

Stop, what am I thinking here again? I quickly finish the last sip of coffee, put some money on the counter and am about to head for the door when I am approached.

"Hello Regina, nice to see you. Tell me, what are you doing here so early?" Emma asks me. I turn around and am about to reply when she takes a sharp intake of breath and comes running towards me. She puts her hands on my shoulders and almost whispers "Regina... Is everything okay with you? Are you not feeling well? Do you want to talk?" I just shake my head.

At that moment, my eyes start to burn, my stomach tightens, and shortly after, it relaxes again, releasing a shock wave that surges through my entire body as tears gather in my eyes. My heartbeat also speeds up after it stops for a few seconds. A single tear rolls out of my eye and I want to quickly wipe it away before Emma can see it. But she is faster.

Emma puts her hand to my cheek, gently brushing the tear from my skin and pulling me into a tight but comforting hug. Immediately, I feel the heat go to my head and a tingling sensation spread through my stomach. My body is overtaken by a strange warmth and I feel a large part of my tension simply fall away.

I don't know how long we've been standing here now, but now I begin to return your embrace. Carefully, I put my arms around Emma's waist and, unconsciously, pull her a little closer to me. After some time Emma detaches herself from me, takes my hand and pulls me out of the Grannys. Once outside, she doesn't let go of my hand and walks to her car with me in tow. She opens the passenger door, pushes me onto the seat and walks once around the car to sit in the driver's seat. However, since I make no effort to buckle up, she reaches over me to do it herself. Still I have not said a word to her.

After Emma has buckled herself in, she starts the engine and drives off. At some point, when I don't know where we are, I break my silence. "Emma?" I ask. "Yes, Regina?"

"Where are we going?" I want to know from her. But Emma doesn't answer. She shrugs her shoulders, looks at me briefly, and grins. So Emma wouldn't tell me where we're going, and I give up on it. During the rest of the ride neither of us says anything, it's a comfortable silence though. I don't even notice that I'm staring at Emma the whole time. Only when she turns off the engine do I notice it and take my eyes off her beautiful green eyes, which always have a golden shimmer in them when the sun hits them, her lips, which I would love to feel, and her body, which is emphasized by the clothes she is wearing today. Actually, it doesn't matter what Emma is wearing anyway, she always looks sexy. While I now direct my gaze spasmodically forward, Emma gets out and runs around the car again to open the door for me.
