15) Elizabeth Pevensie?
Liz opened her eyes, and then hastily shut them. She rolled over and groaned, and that's when she noticed the long box she was holding. It wasn't very big, but it was bigger than a normal jewelry box, so she ruled that out. Liz opened it slowly, and on top of some cloth was a note.
Liz,
I'm so, so sorry for yelling at you. I didn't mean to, it just sort of came out. I love you, and (I hope) you know that. Susan found this (and I agree, it's perfect), and it'll never die. It will always stay beautiful.
Love,
Peter
Liz was so puzzled over what that meant, that she had no clue at what was in the box. She pulled back the cloth to reveal a sparkling red rose. It was perfect, no thorns, and it was soft to the touch. She remembered Aravis begging Cor to find one for her, Everlasting Rose. They were a symbol of love, extremely rare, valuable, and expensive. Liz stared at it, tears rising in her eyes. It was beautiful. She had to find Peter.
Liz tried to get up, but Lucy came rushing in. "You will not be leaving that bed!"
Liz glared at her, "I want to see Peter! Now!" Lucy hurried to find him; nobody disobeyed Liz when she was mad. Within minutes, Peter was at her side. Liz (who was still sitting up) hugged him tightly. "Thank you."
Peter chuckled. "I guess I'm forgiven then?" Liz nodded. "And you're welcome."
"It's beautiful," She told him.
"So are you," Peter replied.
Liz blushed and looked down, "You're such a cliché."
Peter smiled, "But I know for a fact that you love it."
"I'll love you even more if you get me out of here," Liz said slyly. "I promise I'll stay in bed, just let it be my bed." Peter nodded, picking her up bridal style. He walked by Lucy's office, and the door was shut. Thank Aslan.
They reached Liz's room, and Peter carefully placed her in bed. "Much better," Liz sighed, curling up in her silk sheets. "I want chicken."
Just as she fell asleep, Lucy burst into the room, causing Liz to jump three feet in the air. "Elizabeth Pevensie!" Liz was about to freak out when she realized what Lucy had just said.
"My name is Elizabeth Marie Cullen." She stressed. "C-u-l-l-e-n! NOT Pevensie!!" Liz said, feeling her face heat up. Lucy looked like she had accidentally revealed some inside joke. But, glancing quickly at Peter didn't include Peter or Liz.
"I'll just leave now," Lucy said, backing away. "Stay in bed Liz." Liz ignored that command, jumped up, and followed her out the door. Liz (though gently) slammed Lucy against the wall.
"What was that?" She hissed. Lucy bit her lip.
"I'm not supposed to tell you," She confessed. "You weren't supposed to hear that." Lucy looked into Liz's blue eyes, seeing confusion. "Don't make me tell you, ask Susan." Liz let her go, immediately heading for Susan's room. She banged on the door, Susan appeared, looking slightly annoyed.
When she saw Liz, she said, "Why are you out of bed?"
Liz glared, and then replied, "I just wanted to know why Lucy yelled at me, calling me Elizabeth Pevensie."
Susan visibly paled, and turned. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Liz turned her around, and slammed her against a wall. "Tell me. Now," she growled viciously.
Susan refused to meet her eyes as she said, "Well, we just expect it to happen in a few years, so behind your and Peter's backs…" Susan took a deep breath. "We alternately call you the High Queen, and Liz Pevensie."
Liz let her go, and stormed towards her room. She was muttering under her breath the whole time, "How dare they? I can't believe they'd do that! Even Stephen! They are stupid little traitors! Grrrr, I want chicken!" She arrived back in her room, glaring at Lucy, who must have come back. If looks could really kill, the young queen would be dead nineteen times over. She sank into her bed, trying to cover up her yawn.
"Go to sleep Liz," Peter ordered. "You promised you would." But she was already lightly snoring.
"I can't believe you're leaving me!" Liz yelled.
"Liz, I'm not leaving you." Peter stressed. "I have to go back to the Lone Islands. And I would take you but…"
"But the bratty little Terabithian princess is coming in and I have to greet her!" Liz snarled. Normally, she wouldn't mind spending time with a fellow princess, but not when Peter was leaving her behind.
"You know I would rather be here with you, or take you with me, but I need you to be here!" Peter sounded exasperated.
"I'm not going to be like her at all," Liz whined. "She's going to be all stuck-up and prissy, I bet she doesn't know how to smile!"
"Just because she's the reason you can't come along, doesn't mean you have to be awful to her!" Peter snapped.
Liz glared at him for a moment, "Fine, why don't you greet her, since you think she's so great!" She stalked out of the room, heading out of the castle.
"I hope you're not heading toward the ocean!" He yelled after her. "You're not allowed over there until May!" But he knew it was a fruitless attempt. She never listened. And even if she did, she would probably go straight to the ocean just to spite him.
He needed to leave in the morning; how was he supposed to fix this? Beg and grovel, and tell her that nothing could change it. He heard a growl, and saw Liz stalk off toward her room. He smiled slightly, she had found out about the guards he had put on the coast to protect the princess. He heard her running back toward the hall he was in.
"THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR PETER!" She screamed at him. "How could you block the ocean from me!?" She broke down in tears, sinking to the floor. "How could you leave me?" Peter knew it wasn't just leaving her that was upsetting Liz. If this were going on Earth, they wouldn't worry. But Liz had reasons to worry here in Narnia. She might never see him again.
"Liz, I promise I'll come back to you." He whispered, hugging her close. "And I'm sure you'll get along with Princess Julianne."
He could practically feel her roll her eyes, "You just had to bring her up, didn't you?"
"Do I detect some jealousy?" Peter teased.
Liz snorted, "She may be able to beat me in the manners department, but in what really matters. I would beat her hands down." Liz smirked, "Even you have yet to beat me in a fight." Peter opened his mouth to defend himself, but Liz added, "And I know you have way too much pride to just let me win."
The following AN is not from LucyCrewe11 (me) but from the real author of the fic, AN- Next chapter is going to be in Liz's point of view. And the one after that in Princess Julianne's. Don't worry; she's for Edmund.
