Naruto's shdaow clones was currently looking at different bingo books and history texts that he could find. He was looking for something, anything that could be useful in the exam. Naruto himself had the spent the week improving his way with the blade and at the moment he had become passable in the sword technique, he was actually receiving helping help from a Kenjutsu specialist known as Geko Hayate.
Geko helped Naruto improved quickly to which his sword skills become passable during the week. After 2 days, Naruto had finally gotten a hang of the sword, he used his clones to help him learn different techniques and styles. Naruto found that he prefered a quick style with quick attacks which with Naruto's killer strength was actually perfect, for him.
Geko taught him over the week but told him since he was a proctor he would allow someone else to take over teaching him. This person was Yugao Uzuki, Naruto knew her as his old Anbu guard and the two seemed to get scarily well as at times she would enjoy some of the pranks, Naruto pulled other than the times she had to catch him of course.
At times, an initiation ritual was made in honor of Naruto's pranks, where new Anbu would have to chase around Naruto attempting to capture him, almost no-one had succeeded but the ritual still continues.
Naruto has been improving himself to new lengths even thinking of ways he can improve the techniques he had learned and had found a way to improve the shuriken shadow clone with the use of three shadow clones which he would send into three points, one to the right, the other to the left and one to the top which allowed Naruto to throw thousands of shuriken from four areas giving the person no room to escape. Naruto felt proud of himself for it.
Naruto was walking home one day when he saw Sakura chasing Konohamaru Sarutobi, Naruto's biggest fan. Naruto decided to follow them and noted that Konohamaru accidently ran into someone wearing makeup. Naruto kept himself hidden watching the encounter.
"Hey, let the squirt go!" ordered Sakura to the 'make-up' boy.
"Yeah, I will, just gonna teach the brat a lesson," said 'make-up' boy to which Naruto now decided to get involved.
"What are Suna nin doing here?" asked Sasuke appearing himself as Naruto was curious.
"Kankuro, stop this, we don't want to cause an incident," said the girl at his side.
"Yeah, yeah, okay Temari," said Kankuro sighing before letting the brat go as a red-head appeared behind Kankuro who looked to be short. Naruto recognised him from the latest edition of the Iwa bingo book.
Gaara of the Sand. A terrifying killing machine who killed any who tried to hurt him or annoyed him, let's not even talk about the boy's anger. Naruto decided to get involved.
"Kankuro, if you cause an incident I will kill you," said Gaara to which Kankuro quickly apologised in fear.
"Really, you'll kill your brother out of annoyance?" asked a voice as Naruto said standing where Konohamaru was a minute ago. Everyone jumped back to which Sakura let her annoyance show.
"Stop doing that!" ordered the pink haired Genin to her teammate.
"So the children of the fourth Kazekage are here to participate in the Chunin Exams," said Naruto much to the confusion of everyone there. How did this blond brat know who they were?
"How exactly do you know of us?" asked Temari while Gaara's eyes narrowed quickly.
"Oh, I read it in a book, can't remember which one," said Naruto as he didn't read it in a book but rather the Iwa bingo book was very informative on Gaara being seen with his siblings and the fact that he was the son of the fourth Kazekage.
"Oh and who might you be?" asked Gaara to the boy.
"Unimportant," said Naruto as he walked away only for sand to appear. Naruto was suddenly surrounded by sand but quickly disappeared, Naruto looked back at the boy.
"I asked you a question and if you don't want to die than you will answer it," said Gaara angered that someone would challenge him. Naruto however just seemed annoyed as he turned back around and knelt down touching the ground but Gaara forced Naruto of the ground and surrounded by sand. Sand which would crush Naruto if he didn't do what the red head said.
"I don't suggest doing that," said Naruto as Gaara is suddenly surrounded by explosive tags all over his body. Naruto knew bettter than to just walk into here. Gaara looked at the tags and back at the boy before sighing and releasing the boy who smiled,
"May I have have your name?" asked Gaara.
"Naruto Uzumaki," said Naruto with a small bow before grabbing Sasuke and Sakura disappearing in a stream of leaves, though in truth it was just shunshin to Sasuke's house.
"Naruto, what was that?" asked Sasuke angry, "I was supposed to challenge the rookie of the year"
"Your welcome," said Naruto as he looked around.
"For what?" asked Sasuke angry.
"For saving your life," said Naruto as he passed the Iwa bingo book to Sasuke who flipped through it to the Gaara page where he looked shocked. Naruto had just risked his life again for Sasuke. Sakura looked at it and then looked back at Naruto.
"What are you going to do?" asked Sakura with a confused expression.
"I'll need to learn Fuinjutsu but don't worry about me," said Naruto with a short smile.
"Where did you learn Shunshin?" asked Sasuke trying to change the point as he passed the book back to Naruto.
"Something, I learnt in my spare time," said Naruto as he disappeared again.
-Before enterring the Chunin Exams-
Team 7 had just gotten to the third floor after allowing the Genjutsu trap on the second, to find Kakashi hatake staring right at them. He was curious at his team's progress looking straight at Naruto. He remembered the Chunin Exams meeting where he had to fight for Naruto to have a chance even though Naruto had proved himself extremely capable.
-Flashback-
"Okay, the Chunin Exams have arrived in Konoha, now the leaders will decide if their team shall join," said the Third.
"I nominate Team 10 for Chunin Exams," said Asuma, with a smoke of his cigarette.
"I nominate Team 9 for Chunin Exams," said Guy with his usual excitement.
"I nominate Team 8 for Chunin Exams," said Kurenai.
"What about you Kakashi?" asked Sarutobi while Kakashi was thinking back to what Naruto told him about their skills, especially Sakura but he was sure Naruto could protect her.
"Naruto can't be that bad," said Kurenai to which she got a glare.
"Naruto isn't the problem, Sakura is" said Kakashi with a sigh "Naruto's training himself to new lengths, he has already become low chunin and seems to have a high intellect."
"High intellect?" asked Kurenai with a confused expression.
"Naruto has improved himself to high Chunin level in a few months with the use of shadow clones, he has improved his jutsu knowledge with four more jutsus, three of which are of elemental nature, he's improved his taijutsu and had been working on Kenjutsu" said Kakashi much to Kurenai's shock, to which her eyes widened "I believe he does have a high intellect but like Shikamaru, it hasn't been properly realized. Think about it like this, Naruto is easily able to make strategic decisions in a fight and is a cunning person plus for a child with 'low intellect', he has never been caught by several Chunin."
This actually gave Kurenai a lot to think about as Naruto had not shown this intellect before but she realized that Naruto always craved attention so by doing stupid things he got it, meaning Naruto just acted dumb to get some form of acknowledgement.
"Sasuke, himself, has been pushing himself to new lengths because of Naruto and is also improving himself to high Chunin level, he has even improved his reserves so with the more I think about it, I have decided to nominate Team 7".
Iruka didn't get involved this time as though Rookies, with Naruto's example still fresh in his mind about improvement at amazing rates. Naruto did all of this at rates that shouldn't be possible so he had faith in the other Rookie teams.
