"Hello Xander"…..
"What the fuck do you want?" Angel said in a very angry voice
"Whoa easy boy, I was just walking around and I decided to give you my greetings"
"Yeah right. As if"
Buffy's gaze went quickly from Angel to Xander, she didn't understand what was happening"
"Angel? Who is this guy? And why is he bothering you?"
Angel rolled his eyes "He's nobody"
"Nobody? Are you kidding me? Sorry Honey, Angel my man where are your manners? my name is Alexander Harris" he took out his hand to shake hers "Xander for the ladies and specially for the gorgeous ones like yourself"
"Err nice to meet you… Xander, my name is Buffy"
"Buffy huh? Nice name, very original… so tell me Buffy darling what are you doing with Nerd boy here? You know is not a good choice for company, is social suicide"
"Well I'm new in town and well this is my first day in this college and… Angel here volunteered to help me" She looked at him
Angel sent a deathly glance to Xander who didn't care because he was more interesting in the Blond girl. And a after a moment when Xander told her the wrong choice she maid and the continuous flirting Angel finally Exploded
"All right Xander now she knows who you are. Now, could you please get a fuck out of here, you are pissing me of"
"Whoa easy there Nerd Boy I just wanna be polite but whatever man, that's why you don't have any friends"
"Son of a bitch that was a low blow" Angel though
"Well if you don't have anymore to say, please live"
"All right like if I wanna salute you anyway" Xander said in a very sarcastic tune of voice, but before he left he did one last thing to bother Angel even more
"Good Bye Buffy I hope you like USC and everything around here and if you wanna go out some day I'm offering myself to give you a tour" He said with a grin then turned to Angel "See you Nerd Boy, have fun with your books" he laughed walking
When Xander finally left and a very uncomfortable silence passed Buffy spoke
"Ok Exactly what the hell had just happened? I mean what was that with you two?"
"Nothing he's just an asshole"
"Nothing? Are you sure? Because I said it was pretty much something and I want to know"
"ok I'll tell you… Xander and I used to be friends but he became a bastard we he started to date Cordelia that happened when we were in highschool"
"So who is Cordelia and do you mind if I ask you to tell me the story?"
"Well do you want the shortest or the longest version?"
"I want to know everything plus I have plenty of time"
Angel just stood there thinking. Remembering that horrible day, the day his friend changed forever…
Flashback
Angel was in the library he was anxious, excited and very happy waiting for his best friend when suddenly the doors flew open and Xander entered the room searching very quickly with his eyes for Angel and when he saw him he ran to the table and sat in from of him
"Angel my man what's up? What are you doing? Don't tell me you are reading again?"
"Hi Xander, yes I'm reading I need to study I have a very hard exam tomorrow and…"
"Oh come on A you study everyday you don't need to study now I mean you probably are going to get an A. what you need is a girlfriend"
"Xander we already talked about it, I don't need a girlfriend, I'm fine"
"No you aren't I mean when was the last time you had one huh? Because I really can remember any girl. You seriously need laid"
"Xander I told you I'm fine if I want to have sex or not is my fucking problem not yours. Plus I had a girlfriend recently her name was Kate. Do you remember her?
Xander took a moment to think. Angel Frowned and he chuckled "I was kidding man I do but it was like zillion years ago. My point is before you say something else is that I have the solution to all your well our problems"
"And that would be?"
"We have a double date"
"Oh God Are you serious?" Angel shook his head
"Yes I am and they are hot man and you know what that means?"
"Jesus what could that be?" Angel said in sarcastic tone
"Popularity man, is what we always wanted"
"Well actually is what you always wanted Xan man"
"Yes is true but how could I be popular without my man A?"
"I guess you couldn't, I mean you can't even approve your exams without my help"
They laughed, Xander not entirely happy "ok so tonight at 8 pm we'll be having fun at the Bronze"
"Ok Xander you win we'll go to that date"

At The Bronze
Angel and Xander were standing next the bar, constantly looking the entrance
"Do you see them?"
"No I guess they are putting extra make up for us"
"I Hope you are right or instead of that we0ll be standing up men"
"Oh shut up A you don't know what are you talking about. This girl Cordy totally love me and I'm sure her friend will love you too"
After an Hour or Maybe two the boys loosed hope and started to drink when somebody grabbed Xander's arm
"Hello stranger what are you drinking? Cordy Whispered in a very sexy way to Xander
Xander started to feel really hot for Cordelia's words and the effect of the beer doesn't help much
"Cordy oh my… I tough you weren't coming and that you just forgot our date"
"How could I do that Xander Honey" she touched his cheek "You are too cute to forget"
"Err thank you I mmm I want to introduce you a friend well my best friend actually Cordy this is Angel, Angel this is Cordy"
"Hi Cordy, nice to meet you" Angel gave his hand to her but she barely touched it, it was like she felt uncomfortable "Hi Err nice too meet you too" I guess she tough
"So where is Angel's date?"
"Well unfortunately she couldn't come" thank god he looks like a dinosaur Cordelia looked at him like he was an insect and he needed to disappear
As if he read her mind Angel said he was going for some drinks
"Jezz Xander he looks stupid" Cordelia said laughing
"Cordy don't call him like that he's my friend"
"Well you seriously need other friendships"
"What? Why? What is wrong with Angel?"
"Are you serious? Angel? Haha I better say Nerd"
"Well I guess you are right he's kind of tatters but he's fine"
"No way! if you wanna be popular you need to stop talking to him"
Xander analyze it for a moment and then tough she was right, with that kind of friends he will never be a nice guy he would always be a nobody, then he made a choice: he will be popular no matter what and no matter who
"Listen Cordy I just can't stop talking to him, he's my friend"
"I think you don't get the picture here, if you keep talking to him you will be deleted of the map and I won't date with you"
"So I have to choose?"
"Yes is me and the popularity or Angel and the oblivion"
Xander just ignored the talk at least for now, but some weeks dating with Cordelia and he became a monster but when Angel wanted to hang out with his friend she always did something to steal Xander from him and that was the beginning of the end. Xander started to forget that he had a best friend and one day he made the choice to just listen his girlfriend
"Angel" Xander said when Angel was closing his locker
""Hi Xan man how are you? It's been a while I can't see you anymore you are always busy"
"Yeah well you know popularity what can I say? But that is not the reason why I'm here. I just wan to tell you that I don't want to be your friend anymore. Don't talk to me again I'll ignore you and everybody will be happy with my choice I know I am and my girlfriend too"
Angel just stood there like he was having a nightmare like the seconds were hours like somebody punch him
"What? Are you kidding Xan man because is not funny"
"No I'm not I don't want to speak to you ever again, Cordelia is right you are nobody I don't know why I was your friend I now realize that you are pathetic and a nerd I despise you I guess the only reason I spoke to you was because I felt pity for you"
Angel said nothing for a moment and when Xander walked away he finally spoke "That girl seriously changed you man, im sorry for you"
Xander walked towards him and said "what ever you say nerd boy oh and don't call me Xan man again ok? Is stupid and is Mr. Xander Harris for you for now on"
"So that was what happened? He just stopped to speak to you? I mean that is so selfish and wrong and seriously stupid and all because a girl?" Buffy said after listen the not that long story of Angel and Xander's friendship
"Yeah that's pretty much what happened. That fucking bitch changed my friend oh and they threaten the few people who actually spoke to me"
"Oh my that is so mean Don't worry Angel he is a moron plus you are not alone anymore"
"I'm not?"
"No you have me now"
Angel gave her a have smile "Thank you Buffy I really appreciate that"
They talked another hour until the bell rang. They definitely were starting a friendship and who knows? Maybe more
